Massiel Taveras shoved a security guard at Cannes.
The Cannes Film Festival 2024 might have wrapped up but the drama around security guards’ conduct vis-a-vis some celebrities on the red carpet continues to fuel some outrage on the internet. After Kelly Rowland snapped at a security guard as she was stopped from interacting with her fans and the paparazzi, the same security guard was embroiled in a similar altercation with Dominican actress Massiel Taveras who found herself in a similar situation.
Massiel wasn’t the only one who felt she was belittled on the red carpet. K-pop idol YoonA too faced a similar situation as she was hurried indoors and was not given time to pose on the red carpet. While Massiel accosted the security guard after Kelly Rowland also had a major showdown, YoonA didn’t say much but it was visible from her facial expressions that she was miffed at the whole situation.
As soon as videos of the three landed on social media, netizens started linking all three episodes and found out that in all three the commonality was one security guard. Netizens soon called out the security guard as “racist” since she wasn’t seen rushing other celebrities indoors.
For the unversed, Massiel Taveras recently spoke about shoving a security guard on the red carpet who was attempting to rush her inside the building while she was trying to unfurl the long trail of her dress that featured the face of Jesus Christ. As the guard kept pushing her inside and didn’t let her pose, she shoved the guard inside in an attempt to make the most of her time on the carpet.

Massiel also reshared Kelly Rowland’s episode on her Instagram and wrote “Queen,” alongside an article on the red carpet drama. In another post, she wrote, “[We need] respect.”
