John Legend hails Taylor Swift for endorsing Kamala Harris: 'It was riskier for her'

John Legend has nothing but praise for pop star Taylor Swift. Right after the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the ''Lover'' singer took her social media to reveal who she's going to vote for in this upcoming election.
Days after Swift revealed her political views, Legendshared how difficult it must have been for her to publicly support a particular candidate considering her huge fanbase.
In an interview with The Independent, the EGOT winner said, “It was always really difficult for Taylor to speak out for liberal and progressive candidates coming from the country music world, where the fanbase is a lot more conservative,”

Legend added, “It was riskier for her to start speaking out about politics than it is for me. I always respected the fact that she was willing to take that risk.”
The singer said he didn't mind losing some of his fans or friends over his views. For example, the singer is no longer friends with Kanye West, whose GOOD Music label released Legend’s debut studio album, Get Lifted in 2004.

Taylor Swift Endorsed Kamala Harris
On Sept 10, the ''Enchanted'' singer shared that she's endorsing Harris in this upcoming election.
Calling herself a childless cat lady, Taylor wrote, “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” Ms. Swift wrote on Instagram.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,'' she wrote.
Revealing that after she saw a morphed AI-generated video of her, in which she's endorsing' Trump's presidential run on social media, she decided to side with Harris.
