After we shipped Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey together in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, there might be a possibility for the two to get back in a sequel to the film. Open to starring in a sequel to the 2003 film, Kate Hudson revealed that this is not a one-off thought and that they have discussed the possibility of the same.
Kate Hudson recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live as she spoke about exploring the possibility of a second part to How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. She said, “I think they [studios] are always thinking about that.”

The actress however added that there had to be a solid script to get the two of them together. She said, “All that matters would be the script and if Matthew and I were into the script. I think we’re both totally open; it has just never happened.”
For the unversed, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was a super successful film of its time. The film is based on Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long’s book of the same name. The romantic comedy follows Hudson who plays a magazine writer and McConaughey as an advertising executive, respectively. Their paths cross when Andie begins to write a piece about how to get a man to leave you in 10 days, and Benjamin places a work bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in the same amount of time.

Matthew seconded Kate’s thought and in a 2020 interview said, “I mean, ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ is teed up, you know, teed up for one that you could easily do a sequel. And that was a really good one. As far as romantic comedies go, that was a really good one.”
