Hollywood actor George Clooney will never work with his Three Kings director, David O Russell. Ruling out any future work with him, he gave reasons for never collaborating with him again.
This happened over an interview with frequent collaborator and friend Brad Pitt for GQ Magazine. The two discussed their ideal work environment. George Clooney said, "The older you get, time allotment is very different. Five months out of your life is a lot.”
George Clooney said that he will never work with David again even if it means that he has to let go of an opportunity to make a "really good film".
George said, “And so it’s not just like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go do a really good film, like 'Three Kings', and I’m going to have a miserable f*** like David O Russell making my life hell. Making every person in the crew’s life hell. It’s not worth it. Not at this point in my life. Just to have a good product.”
Three Kings was a hit at the time of its release. The black war comedy film was however not in great light during its promotional time. There were reports ofon-set clashes and that things weren’t smooth between the director and George.
It was also reported that the director allegedly got physical with an extra on set, leading to an intervention by George. Three Kings was about four American soldiers who pull off a gold heist during the 1991 uprisings in Iraq against Saddam Hussein, following the end of the First Gulf War. The film also starred Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube and Spike Jonze.
Apart from Three Kings, David has also directed award-winning films like The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.
Meanwhile, George Clooney is currently looking forward to the release of his upcoming movie Wolfs, co-starring Brad Pitt. The film is directed by Jon Watts. George also has an untitled film with Netflix.
