GoAir says it did not stop Preity Zinta from boarding its flights

GoAir has denied news reports that it stopped actor Preity Zinta from boarding its flights.

"Sections of the media have reported malicious and factually incorrect story that is false, fabricated and without any basis stating that 'Preity Zinta was stopped from boarding GoAir flight'," the airline said in a statement.

The statement added that GoAir has "strongly and completely" denied any such action.

"Contrary to the reportage, all the facts-on-ground clearly show that Preity Zinta had a smooth flight Mumbai to Chandigarh GoAir G8-381 on Saturday (March 30). Further, on April 2, she also booked herself on a return flight G8 382 from Chandigarh to Mumbai but did not show up. This clearly demonstrates that sections of media have reported mischievously and without verifying the facts with GoAir," the statement read.

GoAir of course is owned by Preity's former boyfriend Ness Wadia.

The two made their relationship public in 2005. In 2008, they bought the Indian Premier League team Kings XI Punjab.

Reports of a rift in their relationship however began to appear in 2009.

In June 2014, Preity filed a case against Wadia accusing him of having abused, molested, and threatened her during an IPL match.

She later agreed, in front of the Bombay High Court, to drop the case against Wadia after he apologised to her and submitted an affidavit to that effect.

Preity is now married to the American financial analyst Gene Goodenough.
