The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the subsequent lockdown led to an unprecedented situation in India. While the urban population retreated to the confines of their home, the lockdown led to a migrant crisis, with people from marginalized sections of the society returning to their villages from cities after losing their means of livelihood due to the lockdown. Five years later, the crisis has been translated for cinema- in Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 earlier this week and received a rousing response from the audience.
Bhool Chuk Maaf, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, comes at a time when Bollywood has almost forgotten to make romantic comedies. In a world infested with spy-verses and Pan-India south actioners, Bhool Chuk Maaf reminds you of the years of Ayushmann-Rajkummar supremacy when these two actors featured in feel-good slice-of-life romantic comedies, delivering pertinent societal messages along the way.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most legendary actors in Indian cinema, known for consistently delivering legendary performances on screen. Watching him perform is nothing short of a masterclass in acting itself.

His ability to transform into characters with depth and authenticity has earned him immense respect, with many of his roles leaving a lasting impact on audiences for years. Now, his film Main Actor Nahin Hoon (I Am Not an Actor) is creating quite the buzz. After making waves at the New York Indian Film Festival, the film will now be screened at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute — a place that has shaped generations of performers.

Main Actor Nahin Hoon revolves around a retired banker-turned-aspiring actor—played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui—who connects virtually with a professional actor for acting lessons. The film also stars Chitrangada Satarupa and Naveen Kasturia, alongside Ayushi Gupta, Yasir Iftikhar Khan, Meenakshi Arundhati, and Vibhawari Deshpande. The film will be screened exclusively for current students and alumni of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute on June 24.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga had pulled a casting coup of sorts when he announced the cast of his new Pan-India film Spirit with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead. But if recent reports are to be believed, Deepika is no longer a part of the film.

According to reports in Telugu outlets like Gulte and GreatAndhra.com, Vanga reportedly has removed Deepika from the project after repeated clashes with her over her demands. Many of these demands have been deemed “unprofessional" by those associated to the project.

Deepika’s demands irk Vanga?

According to reports, Deepika allegedly requested an 8-hour workday, which translates to just 6 hours of actual shoot time.

The actress also demanded a hefty fee for her role and a percentage of the film’s profits. Reports also claim that Deepika refused to deliver her dialogues in Telugu.

Deepika reportedly came on board on a hefty pay package. The actress was allegedly being paid Rs 20 crore (Rs 200 million approx.). Vanga apparently was not happy with the multiple demands made the actress and decided to part ways with her. He is said to be scouting for a replacement already. Earlier reports had indicated that Vanga, whose last two films Animal and Kabir Singh were mammoth success and also highly debated among fans and critics alike, had waited to start Spirit due to Deepika’s pregnancy. The film was initially slated to begin filming in late 2024. Due to scheduling conflicts, she had declined the role, but the director reportedly returned with revised shoot timelines, prompting her to sign on. Deepika welcomed her first child, daughter Dua with husband Ranveer Singh in September 2024. Deepika Padukone was last seen in Jawan and Kalki 2898 AD. Aditi Rao Hydari is a vision in red! The Indian actress has arrived at the French Riviera to attend the ongoing 78th Cannes Film Festival. Just a day after walking the red carpet in a dazzling black dress, Hydari's second look is out, and it's all things stunning. Aditi Rao Hydari stuns in red On Wednesday (May 21), Aditi blessed the Instagram feed of her millions of fans after she shared the second look from the Cannes. Ditching western attire and redefining elegance, Rao channelled her desi side as she struck a pose in a deep red saree, a traditional Indian wear. Her eye-catching, striking ensemble quickly grabbed headlines for all the right reasons. The actress turned heads in a stunning red saree from the Indian label Raw Mango, which was a blend of modesty and drama. She paired it with a matching blouse and completed the look with a choker with matching studs. She did a bold makeup with smudged kohl eyes, bronzed cheeks and light pink lips, enhancing natural radiance. What truly stood out in Rao's look was the vermilion (sindoor) and a bindi adorning the forehead, adding an Indian touch to her look. Her hair was tied in a simple bun. The picturesque backdrop of the Mediterranean coast added more beauty to her look. Sharing the pictures, Aditi wrote in the caption, "Cannes" with a red heart emoji. Check her photos here:

Shreyas Talpade’s character barges in and drops the hilarious line, “Band kar ke toh kar, yede!” That part was in the script—but what followed was pure improvisation.
