Pitch invader during England vs Pakistan second T20I match
The second T20I match between England and Pakistan at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham was briefly halted on Saturday (May 25) by a pitch invader carrying a Palestine flag. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media and shows the pitch invader sauntering across the playing arena as players from both sides watch the proceedings.
As the disruptor ran across the pitch, the security guard converged from all directions and managedto hold him off. Later, he was escorted off the ground as some in the crowd started chanting 'free-free Palestine' slogans.

Meanwhile, millions of ordinary Palestinians in the Gaza Strip continue to live under excruciating conditions, having been forced to the southern tip. There have been calls for ceasefirebut both parties are yet to reach a mutual solution.
Khawaja and Rizwan on Palestine issue
In the cricketing community, the likes of Usman Khawaja and Mohammad Rizwan have been two of the most outspoken personalities for the Palestine cause. Rizwan had dedicated his side's victory against Sri Lanka in the 50-over World Cup last year to the people of Gaza.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Rizwan said: "This was for our brothers and sisters in Gaza.Happy to contributeinthe win. Credits to the whole team and especially Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for making it easier."
Meanwhile, Khawaja was charged by the ICCby the International Cricket Council for wearing a black armband in the first Test against Pakistan, in support of people in Gaza.
“Usman displayed a personal message [armband] during the first Test match against Pakistan without seeking the prior approval of Cricket Australia and the ICC to display it, as required in the regulations for personal messages,” ICC said at the time.
“This is a breach under the category of an ‘other breach’ and the sanction for a first offence is a reprimand.”
Khawaja retaliated by releasing a long video message on social media reiterating his support for people in Gaza.
