T20 WC: There is real keenness to do something special - Rohit Sharma
Captain Rohit Sharma says that Team India is looking to do something special in the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup. India were the third team to have made it to the Super 8s, riding on their flawless run in the group stage, where they beat Ireland, Pakistan and the USA before their game versus Canada got washed out.
Hitman stated that there is keenness in the group to do something special in the upcoming games during the next roundwhere they are placed in Group 1 along with Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia.
Ahead of the Afghanistan fixturein Barbados on Thursday (June 20), Rohit said in a video uploaded by the BCCI, "There is real keenness in the group to go and do something special. It clearly shows that everyone wants to make a difference and we take our skill sessions quite seriously.
"There is something to achieve in every skill session that you do. Once we play the first game, we are going to play the next two in 3-4 days. It is going to be a little hectic but we are used to all of this. We travel and play a lot so that is not going to be an excuse."
Notably, India reached Barbados several days ahead of their first Super 8game.
