India all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a wonderful outing in the first T20I against Bangladesh on Sunday (Oct 6) and helped the team take 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Pandya took 1/26 in four overs and scored a blistering 39 not out off just 16 balls as India won the game by seven wickets.
Pandya also broke a couple of T20I records for India and one of them included going past now-retired T20I player Virat Kohli.
The all-rounder finished the game with a six - the fifth time he has done so in T20Is for India, which is the most and one more than Kohli, who had finished a T20I game for India with a six four times.

Pandya also surpassed pacer Arshdeep Singh to become the fourth highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is. Pandya now has 87 T20I wickets - one more than Arshdeep's 86.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is with 96 scalps to his name andis followed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (90) and Jasprit Bumrah (89).

As for the match, India made short work of the 128-run target, achieving it in about 12 overs.
The new-look team under Suryakumar Yadav started the chase incredibly well as Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson scored 25 runs for the first wicket in just 11 balls before a mix up led to Sharma's run out.
Skipper Surya then joined Samson at the crease, and the duo added quickfire 40 runs, with Surya (29) scoring most of them before falling as India finished the powerplay at 71/2.
Samson also departed 15 runs later on the personal score of 29 off just 19 balls, but by then India needed just 48 runs in more than 12 overs remaining.
Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy (20 not out) and Hardik Pandya then added rest of the runs and took the team home in convincing fashion.
