Mankind Pharma, a major player in the Indian pharmaceutical industry, is making waves with a new condom campaign that empowers women. The campaign, featuring actor Radhika Apte, promotes Epic, Mankind Pharma's premium condom brand.

"Epic is a unique product," says Rajeev Juneja, Managing Director of Mankind Pharma. "It removes hindrance and is natural - The product is totally vegan." Epic condoms are designed to enhance pleasure and intimacy, with a focus on natural materials and ease of use.

Mankind Pharma's Manforce condom brand holds a leading 30.1% share of the Indian condom market. Juneja attributes this success to a shift in consumer preferences. "Condoms were always sold from a safety perspective, and youth felt the product was a hindrance for pleasure," he says. "So innovations have really helped attract younger consumers to the category. Also, women now decide on the variants, unlike the historical trend of men being the sole decision-makers."

India's pharmaceutical industry on the rise

Rajeev Juneja sees a bright future for India's pharmaceutical industry. "This is a new India," he says. "We are growing exponentially - Every 3rd capsule sold anywhere in the world is 'Made In India.' The trend I see is India investing more in R&D and innovation compared to how we did in the past."

Mankind Pharma is looking to capitalise on India's booming pharmaceutical market. The company recently reported a 65% year-on-year increase in net profit and is planning to raise funds for further expansion.
