Ships "have continued to supply fuel via the port of Ras Issa" despite Washington designating the rebels a foreign terrorist organisation earlier this year, the military command added, without specifying the source of the fuel.
Houthi health ministry spokesman Anees Alasbahi said the preliminary death toll stood at 20, including five paramedics.
There were also "50 wounded workers and employees at the Ras Issa oil port, following the American aggression", he said on X.
"The death toll is likely to rise as body parts are still being identified," he added.

The port lies along the west coast of Yemen on the Red Sea.
In images broadcast early Friday by the rebels' Al-Masira channel, which it presented as the "first images of the US aggression" against the port, a fireball lit up the area around the ships, while thick columns of smoke rose above what appeared to be an ongoing blaze.
"Civil defence rescue teams and paramedics are making every effort to search for and extract victims and extinguish the fire," said Alasbahi.
The Houthis have regularly fired missiles and drones on Israel since the war in Gaza broke out in October 2023 following an attack on Israel by Hamas militants.
"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted," Israel's army said Friday on Telegram, adding that aerial defence systems had been deployed "to intercept the threat".
Houthi attacks have hampered shipping through the Suez Canal -- a vital route that normally carries about 12 percent of world shipping traffic -- forcing many companies into a costly detour around the tip of southern Africa.
The United States first began conducting strikes against the Houthis under president Joe Biden's administration, and his successor President Donald Trump has vowed that military action against the rebels would continue until they are no longer a threat to shipping.
On Thursday evening, France's Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu said a French frigate in the Red Sea destroyed a drone launched from Yemen.
"Our armed forces continue their commitment to ensuring maritime freedom of movement," he said on X.
US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce told journalists Thursday that the Chinese satellite firm Chang Guang Satellite Technology Company was "directly supporting Iran-backed Houthi terrorist attacks on US interests".
"Their actions -- and Beijing's support of the company, even after our private engagements with them -- is yet another example of China's empty claims to support peace," she said.
Bruce did not initially provide details on the nature of the company's support for the rebels, but later referred to "a Chinese company providing satellite imagery to the Houthis."

They appeared to be cruising towards the last four when, after a 2-2 first-leg draw last week in France, Manuel Ugarte turned in an Alejandro Garnacho cutback on 10 minutes and then Diogo Dalot fired home in first-half injury time.
Bruno Fernandes had hit the bar with a brilliant volley in between, and United had chances to kill the tie before Corentin Tolisso headed in on 71 minutes to give Lyon hope.
Nicolas Tagliafico then levelled the scores on the night, and in the tie, with 12 minutes of normal time remaining, his shot crossing the line before goalkeeper Andre Onana got a hand to it.

Trump has long prized tariffs as a tool to achieve what he says is the urgent task of rebalancing America's trading relationships, and pledged on the campaign trail that he would hit imports with extra levies.
Initial punitive tariffs against Mexico and Canada were built on with his self-declared "Liberation Day," which saw onerous charges imposed on scores of countries, including allies and partners.
Many of those duties have since been paused, but their chaotic announcement sent global stock markets into spasms, wiping out trillions of dollars of value.
Newsom said Trump's economic mismanagement was costing everyday Americans -- including many who voted for Trump -- dearly, all while feathering the nests of billionaire donors and friends.
The United States, he said, has gone in a matter of weeks "from free capitalism to crony capitalism, just like that."
"This is the personification of corruption...this is smash-mouth, in-your-face, every minute of every day, every hour.
"How in the hell are we sitting by and allowing this to happen?" said Newsom, who is widely expected to put himself forward as a candidate for the presidency in 2028.
The legal action launched Wednesday argues that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which Trump has used to impose levies as high as 145 percent, does not grant him the authority to put tariffs on goods coming into the United States.
"We're asking the court to rein in the president... and uphold the Constitution," Attorney General Rob Bonta told reporters.
"The president is yet again acting as if he's above the law, he isn't."
Bonta said the power to impose tariffs rests with Congress, and the suit sought to ensure his actions were rolled back.
"It's simple, Trump does not have the authority to impose these tariffs. He must be stopped."
The case is the latest of more than a dozen lawsuits that California has filed against the Trump administration.
A White House spokesman quoted by local media dismissed the lawsuit.
"Instead of focusing on California's rampant crime, homelessness, and unaffordability, Gavin Newsom is spending his time trying to block President Trump's historic efforts to finally address the national emergency of our country's persistent goods trade deficits," the spokesman said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday (Apr 17) warned Germany over the possibility of long-range Taurus missiles deployed in Ukraine, saying that it will be a &ldquo;direct&rdquo; German involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.

The Taurus KEPD-350 missile is known to be one of the most modern weapon systems used by the German military, the Bundeswehr. It is capable of travelling at a speed of up to 1,170 kilometres (727 miles) per hour, which is nearly the speed of sound, and can reach targets as far as 500 kilometres (310 miles) away.&nbsp;

The Taurus missiles, developed by the European missile company MBDA, can penetrate several floors of a bunker before the actual warhead explodes and would allow Ukraine to hit targets far inside the Russian territory.

What is Taurus? The Taurus KEPD-350 missile is known to be one of the most modern weapon systems used by the German military, the Bundeswehr. It is capable of travelling at a speed of up to 1,170 kilometres (727 miles) per hour, which is nearly the speed of sound, and can reach targets as far as 500 kilometres (310 miles) away. It uses four independent navigation systems to stay on track. It has a satellite-supported GPS system, which is protected against attempts to jam it. The Taurus missiles, developed by the European missile company MBDA, can penetrate several floors of a bunker before the actual warhead explodes and would allow Ukraine to hit targets far inside the Russian territory.
