Hangover actor Bradley Cooper stunned the CinemaCon attendees in Las Vegas as he released the trailer for his directorial debut A Star is Born on Tuesday. The emotional first trailer of the film rose got a hearty applause from the crowd of theatre owners and exhibitors as reported by a leading entertainment website.
The film stars Bradley Cooper as a superstar who is now losing his shine at the box office alongside singer Lady Gaga who plays an aspiring singer. The film will be the third remake of A Star is Born, which has classic versions with Judy Garland (the original 1937 film) and Barbra Streisand (1976 version) in the role of the young singer that Lady Gaga is playing now.
The story centres on a fading movie star who helps an aspiring actress as he fails to manage his own.
Talking about the film at the CinemaCon, Bradley said, "It's a big swing this movie, I totally get that. But you can't control what moves you. And I always wanted to tell a love story." He added that Lady Gaga is "kind of a revelation in this movie."
The film is three years in the making and features live-singing on real stages at festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella.
A Star is Born hits theatres on October 5 this year.
