Social media giant Facebook is planning to launch an unsend a message feature like Whatsapp for Facebook messenger as well.
The new feature will take several months to launch.
Facebook made the announcement after there were reports that Facebook has retracted Facebook messages sent by its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
Few other executives of the organization's messages were also reportedly retracted from the recipients' inboxes.
After which the company announced that no more messages of Zuckerberg will be retracted until the features get available for all users.
The retraction of Zuckerburg's messages has reportedly struck many Facebook users as a violation of trust with Facebook.
According to a report by tech blog, 'Techcrunch' users will have an option of sending their messages by setting a specific expiration time of the sent message and the time will run out the message will automatically be the chat thread.
Though this is just an initial plan for the feature. The company may build another way to unsend their messages from the messenger.
Another subsidiary of Facebook, an instant messaging app Whatsapp has this unsend message feature from November 2017.
Whatsapp users can delete their sent texts by going to 'delete for me only' option.
