The World Health Organization (WHO) on announced that the B.1.617 variant of COVID-19 which was first identified in India, also known as the Indian double mutant, is a ‘variant of concern’ at the global level. WHO said that the double mutant strain has been found to be transmitting more easily than the original version of Coronavirus.
