Student elections set to return to Karnataka after 37 years
Student union elections are set to make a historic comeback to Karnataka’s college campuses after a massive 37-year ban. Originally halted in 1989 by the then-Congress government under Veerendra Patil due to concerns over campus violence and politicization, the Siddaramaiah government is moving forward with plans to revive campus polls across Pre-University (PU) and affiliated degree colleges.
