Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa arrived in the United States on Sunday, September 21, to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly—marking the first visit by a Syrian leader to the forum in 60 years.
According to the Syrian presidency’s media office, al-Sharaa’s visit is part of the high-level UN meetings in New York, scheduled from September 22 to 30, which will focus on critical global issues including peace and security, human rights, and sustainable development.
