<p>The 39-year-old had worn the helmet on a flight across the Atlantic in 1928 and had later lost it in a crowd of fans.</p>

<p>Anthony Twiggs, a 67-year-old man from Minnesota had inherited the aviator’s helmet from his mother but had trouble proving that it was original.</p>

<p>Earhart wore the same helmet the following year in the Women’s National Air Derby, an all-female race from Santa Monica, California, to Cleveland.</p>

<p>Study lead author Dr Amruta Nori-Sarma, assistant professor of environmental health at BUSPH, in a report by Science Daily said, "Emergency department visits represent some of the costliest interactions within the healthcare system."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The microflat can be compared to a stuffy room. It has a bed, toilet, shower, sink and a microwave. The cabinet for the microwave is located under the bed. It has been described on social media to be a "posh cell".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Funny thing is, when the microflat was put up for auction, the asking price was 50,000 pounds. The auction saw the price shoot up before settling at 90,000 pounds. The microflat was sold by the auction house My Auction.</p>

<p>The flat was bought by the previous owner for GBP 103,500 in May 2017 and was&nbsp;rented out for&nbsp;800&nbsp; pounds per month.</p>

<p>The bear smashed a window and squeezed into the house on Catalina Drive while the residents were at home. Police responded and banged on the outside of the house until Hank exited out the back door and disappeared into the woods.</p>

<p>Also known as Jake or Yogi or simply Big Guy, the bear is what Tira described as a “severely food habituated bear” that has “lost all fear of people” and thinks of them as a food source.</p>

<p>A homeowners association agreed during a meeting last week to allow state wildlife personnel to capture the bear. Previous trapping efforts, which are generally more successful in wooded settings, have proven futile in residential areas where the bear has become acclimated.</p>

<p>If Hank is captured, officials said the bear could be relocated to accredited facilities such as zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, Tira said.</p>

<p>“You relocate it to the wilderness, and they starve because they’re not used to hunting for food,” Tira said.</p>

<p>Killing the bear is hopefully a last resort, said Joby Cefalu, a board member with the homeowners association.</p>

<p>“Nobody on our board took lightly the situation of depredation,” Cefalu told the Los Angeles Times. “We’re meant to coexist. Unfortunately, this is a human problem.”<br />

<p>She felt so embarrased and insulted by the whole ordeal that she sued him in court for the sexist statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A local court ruled in her favour and asked her boss to compensate her for being offensive.</p>

<p>"We are satisfied that part of the reason for the company's decision to dismiss Mrs Best is that she made a significant allegation of sexism and ageism against Mr David Fletcher."</p>

<p>"She was intervening to protect herself, her family, her close friends and contacts, the customers and suppliers of [the Fletcher's] business and the wider public," the tribunal said.</p>

<p>A local mobile phone operator filed an unusual complaint this month – just before midnight and until 3 AM every of the week, the residents of Messanges could not use their cellular and mobile internet services.</p>

<p>Investigators concluded that a signal jammer was being used to block radio frequencies and tracked down the culprit to the tiny town of Messanges in southwestern France.</p>

It’s raining memes: Twitteratis find peace amid a tense Russia-Ukraine situation

<p><a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/government-has-become-dictatorship-hong-kong-protestors-call-on-supporters-to-rally-outside-parliament-225932">Hong Kong</a> is gearing up for an annual pro-democracy march on Monday, the anniversary of its handover to Beijing, that could draw large crowds amid widespread anger over an extradition bill that has already seen <a href="https://www.wionews.com/opinions/mass-protests-protect-hong-kongs-legal-autonomy-from-china-for-now-228567">millions take to the streets</a>.</p>

<p>In recent years, the anniversary of the handover of the former British colony in 1997 has been marked by deepening despondency about what many residents see as increasing meddling by the mainland and the erosion of freedoms.</p>

<p>Beijing denies interfering but for many Hong Kong residents a proposed extradition law, that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial, is the latest step in a relentless march towards mainland control.</p>

<p>Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung, writing in his blog on Sunday, appealed for calm ahead of Monday`s rally and said the government has learned from its mistakes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It is imperative to restore social order and tranquillity as soon as possible, stabilize the business environment and bring Hong Kong back on track," he said.</p>

<p>Embattled Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam, who has apologised for the upheaval, has not been seen in public since June 18.</p>

<p>The turmoil comes at a delicate time for Beijing, which is already grappling with a trade war with Washington, a faltering economy and tensions in the South China Sea.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"If Hong Kong is no longer an international city, Hong Kong will perish," former opposition lawmaker Margaret Ng said at a rally late on Friday.<br />
"It`s our responsibility to let the world know."</p>

<p>Lam, who is backed by Beijing, promoted and then suspended the extradition bill after some of the biggest and most violent protests in the city in decades against it.</p>

<p>While Lam, in her decision to suspend the bill, said she had heard the people "loud and clear", she stopped short of activists` demands to scrap it and rejected calls to step down.</p>

<p>Activists are also demanding the government drop all charges against those arrested during the latest protests, charge police with what they describe as excessive use of force and stop referring to the demonstrations as a riot, a term than can bring a heavier jail sentence.</p>

<p>In scenes that grabbed global headlines on June 12, police fired rubber bullets and tear gas on protesters near the heart of the financial centre, sending plumes of smoke billowing among some of the world`s tallest skyscrapers.</p>

<p>In heavy rain and sweltering heat of around 33 Celsius (91.4 Fahrenheit) on Sunday, thousands rallied in a show of support for the police, with some waving the Chinese national flag.</p>

<p>Former police chief Tang King-shing said he felt hurt when he saw protesters besiege police headquarters earlier in the week, adding it was as if "all the police`s contributions had been forgotten."</p>

<p>Organisers of Monday`s anniversary march say they are confident that anger over the city government`s failure to withdraw the extradition bill will fuel numbers.</p>

<p>The extradition bill has reignited a protest movement that had lost steam after pro-democracy demonstrations in 2014 failed to wrestle concessions from Beijing and led to the arrests of hundreds of activists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>More than a million people have taken to the streets at times over the past three weeks to vent their anger and frustration at Lam, posing the greatest popular challenge to Chinese leader Xi Jinping since he came to power in 2012.</p>

<p>Local media reported that a 21-year-old Hong Kong student who fell to her death from an apartment building on Saturday had left behind a note opposing the extradition law.</p>

<p>"Results revealed that attractive targets (compared to less attractive targets) had higher rates of phagocytosis," it&nbsp;found. The researchers said, "attractive targets&nbsp;had higher rates of phagocytosis, and lower plasma bacterial growth indicating that attractiveness may be related to anti-bacterial immunity."</p>

<p>The study maintained that "attractive targets had high rates of phagocytosis, and low neutrophil counts" which is "consistent with this possibility, demonstrating that attractiveness may also be related to one's immunological efficiency in the face of bacterial threats."</p>

<p>The study in its concluding remark said that current research suggests that facial attractiveness may provide insights into one's immune function, although, future research is needed to replicate these results.</p>

<p>"For men, facial attractiveness may also provide cues to their ability to efficiently manage viral threats and neoplastic growth," it added.</p>
