<h2><strong>What are the Ahom dynasty's Moidams?</strong></h2>

<p>The Moidams is the burial site of Assam's Ahom dynasty and is set in the foothills of the state's Patkai Ranges in Assam.</p>

<p>The heritage site houses the royal necropolis of the Tai-Ahom. There are 90 moidams, which are hollow vaults made using stone, earth or brick, and each of these has&nbsp;a different size.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the UNESCO's statement, these moidams were created by the Tai-Ahom over a span of 600 years to accentuate the area's natural topography and form a sacred geography.</p>

<p>Every moidam is a mound of earth created above the grave of Ahom royalty and aristocracy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Assam, although Charaideo is filled with ones of Ahom royals, other moidams of aristocrats and chiefs are present in the state's eastern part, between&nbsp;Jorhat&nbsp;and&nbsp;Dibrugarh.</p>

<p>A Chinese woman has taken the drastic decision of aborting her unborn boy after she was told that the infant had XYY syndrome which many people believe will lead him to become a person with violent and aggressive tendencies.</p>

<p>In the prenatal checks, a random website revealed that there was XYY syndrome in the unborn child, which is a genetic condition that has been wrongly linked to human criminal behaviour.</p>

<p>The six-month pregnant woman, identified as Jiujiu, lives in Sichuan province, southwestern China. On July 14, she posted her prenatal examination report on Douyin in which it was reflected that her unborn baby had a high chance of having XYY syndrome.</p>

<h2><strong>What is XYY criminal syndrome?</strong></h2>

<p>XYY syndrome, which is also known as Jacob’s syndrome, is a condition in which the child gets an extra Y chromosome. XYY syndrome is exclusively found in males.</p>

<p>“Generally speaking, individuals with XYY syndrome might appear more masculine and taller than others,” said Qi Qianrong, who is the Reproductive Medicine Centre of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University's embryologist in the central province of Hubei, while speaking to the South China Morning Post.</p>

<p>“I hope people will not stigmatise XYY syndrome. You should understand the reality of this condition from a doctor. Regardless, losing the child is a painful experience for me,” she added.</p>

<p>The slabs discovered had hieroglyphic inscriptions which stated the achievements of kings like King Amenhotep III, who is also known as Amenhotep the Magnificent and King Tut's ancestor.</p>

<p>The carvings on the stone also mention King Thutmose IV who ruled in the early 14th Century BC and is remembered for restoring the Great Sphinx of Giza.</p>

<p>The team members, who discovered the stone, expressed their surprise over the good condition of the carvings and hoped to find more artefacts in future.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 1960, ancient artefacts were found in the area but were later lost because of the construction of the Aswan High Dam in Aswan. The archaeologists had hurriedly tried to remove them before they were lost underwater, however, they failed to relocate many of them.</p>

<p>Over half a decade after MV Noongah succumbed to its fate by sinking deep into the water off the coast of the Australian state of New South Wales, killing 21 men.&nbsp;Australia has finally found the shipwreck of the ill-fated vessel, putting an end to the decades-long mystery.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For 55 years, the researchers struggled to find the 71 metres (233 ft) MV Noongah that was carrying steel off the coast of New South Wales when it ran into rough seas in August of 1969. Reports stated that the ship sank minutes after sending a distress signal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the ship disappeared, it prompted one of the biggest maritime searches in Australian history. Five of the 26 crewmen survived but the body of only one was ever recovered from the sea while the remaining were lost.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Last month, a high-tech ship owned by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in collaboration with Heritage NSW and The Sydney Project went to investigate a possible wreckage, hoping for it to be MV Noongah.</p>

<p>Notably, locals had spotted the shipwreck years ago in the water off the coast of South West Rocks, about 460 kilometres north of Sydney. However, the lack of technology or diving knowledge needed to identify the wreck stopped the endeavour - that is until the CSIRO ship arrived.</p>

<p>The severed leg of a surfer, who was attacked by a shark, washed up on an Australian beach after some time, with doctors now racing to see if it can be reattached.</p>

<p>Kai McKenzie, 23, was surfing near Port Macquarie in New South Wales (NSW) on Tuesday when a 3m (9.8ft) great white shark bit him.</p>

<p>He successfully rode a wave to the shore, where an off-duty police officer strongly wrapped a tourniquet to prevent the flow of blood, authorities reported.</p>

<p>Later, his leg that was bitten off by the shark washed ashore, and locals placed it on ice before it was transported to the hospital, where doctors are currently evaluating surgical options.</p>

<p>A tourist collapsed after being bitten by a King's Guard horse outside the Household Cavalry Museum in central London this weekend.&nbsp;</p>

The video showed the woman shouting in pain and heading away from the animal before inspecting her wounds. She later collapsed to the ground after being injured. <p>Kamala Harris and the coconut tree meme - what is the story there? It is actually something she said a long time back and netizens have dug it up and brought it back to create a meme fest. In fact, it is so popular that the Democrats are using it to express their support for her.&nbsp;Surprisingly, some people claim that it was the Republican National Committee that actually edited out the coconut tree portion from her speech to make fun of her.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Several people have added a coconut tree emoji next to their X handles to show support for Harris who is almost certain to face off against Donald Trump in the November presidential elections.</p>

<p>The coconut tree is related to something Harris once recounted as she talked about her mother. During an event to advance opportunities for Hispanic Americans last year, Harris was trying to explain that no one is ever just one person but is affected by and affects others around them. She explained to the audience that the initiative being discussed takes everyone into consideration, the young people and also their families, teachers and communities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She said, "None of us just live in a silo. Everything is in context."</p>

<p>She then recounted her mother saying, "My mother would give us a hard time sometimes, and she would say to us, 'I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?' " Harris said, breaking into laughter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you," she added.</p>

<p>Memes around her speech exploded on the internet soon after.&nbsp;But today, the coconut tree has become a symbol of support for Harris. After Biden's dismal show at the presidential debate this year, people started posting photos of coconut trees to ask Biden to step down and let Harris take on the mantle.</p>

<p>Harris has the full support of the California delegation, earning enough delegates to become the Democratic party nominee. Nancy Pelosi, the former House speaker, made the motion to endorse Harris for president at a virtual meeting of California’s DNC delegation on Monday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Top Democrats are also rallying behind Harris in their bid to beat Donald Trump. Harris will be in Milwaukee on Tuesday for her first full-fledged campaign event.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the Associated Press, Harris already has 2,214 delegates, more than the simple majority needed to bag the nomination on the first ballot.</p>
