<p>A week full of asteroid visits to the Earth is concluding with another one zooming past Earth at a close distance on the night of Dec 6. The space rock measured five feet in diameter and has been named 2024 XS2. It will be at its closest point to our planet for the next 10 years tonight at 9:47 pm EST.</p>

<p>It would be only 196,000 kilometres away from Earth, almost half the distance the Moon is from us. The average distance of the Moon from Earth is 384,500 km. This would make it easier for amateur telescopes to pick it up. However, the asteroid won't be easily viewable in the northern hemisphere. In the southern sky, it would zoom between two constellations, the Dolphinfish and Reticulum.</p>

<p>Asteroid 2024 XS2 was discovered in March this year. Its orbit means it approaches the sun closer than Earth does. This is the case with the Apollo class of asteroids. Much of the Nearth-Earth objects (NEOs) that zoom past Earth belong to this group.</p>

<p>NASA has prepared the OSIRIS-APEX mission that will fly by Apophis in April and study its composition and surface in June when it begins its 18-month stay on the asteroid.&nbsp;</p>

<p>ESA's &nbsp;Ramses mission will rendezvous with Apophis in February 2029 and will stay with it as it approaches Earth. Besides studying the usual elements of the asteroid, the mission will also look at how the planet's gravity affects it.<br />

<p>Keim's efforts had spread by word of mouth as well as through social media posts. She has been delivering 32 frozen turkeys this year to people who live year-round in cabins which have no roads.</p>

<p>Every year, Keim goes out making 30 to 40 turkey deliveries as she covers 100 miles from her base north of Anchorage towards the foothills of Denali.</p>

<p>At times, she even enlists “turkey dropper” for help. At other times, she drops the turkeys herself while her friend flies the plane.</p>

<p>At a time, Keim bought around 20 turkeys with the help of donations which were given to her by people through Facebook.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Don't give CPR to awake patients and mouth to mouth breathing not required here plus the faulty compressions. If you really want to create awareness delete this video, force govt to start giving mandatory CPR lessons right from schools and colleges," wrote a doctor.</p>

<p>A galaxy has been observed moving at an astonishing speed of 3.2 million km/h, which then slams into four other celestial bodies, creating the most powerful shockwaves ever. The cosmic bashing occurred in Stephan's Quintet which houses five galaxies. One of the system's five galaxies, called NGC 7318b, collided with the other four.</p>

<p>Researchers say that the smashing led to an immensely powerful shock front similar to a "sonic boom from a jet fighter". The discovery was published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society on November 22. The stunning observation was made by the William Herschel Telescope Enhanced Area Velocity Explorer (WEAVE) in La Palma, Spain.</p>
