In a bizarre case out of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a woman has reportedly asked for a divorce from her husband who did not get a Rs 5 ($0.06) packet of Kurkure, a popular crunchy snack in India.
According to media reports, the woman was addicted to the snack and demanded that her husband buy one packet for her daily. However, one day he forgot to buy the snack and she left the house after an argument with her husband.
She went back to her parents’ house and had reportedly been living there for a month and a half before she approached the police and sought a divorce. According to reports, the Shahganj police in Agra summoned the couple for family counselling.
It was found that the couple had tied the knot last year and while everything seemed fine initially. However,over the next few months, the husband reportedly became worried about his wife's unusual craving for the snack as shewould ask him to get it for her every day.
According to the husband, his wife’s odd appetite for the snack had become a point of contention between them.

However, the wife has reportedly claimed that he left her husband’s house because he beat her. The police are investigating the claims made by the couple.
This comes after reports that another couple in the city of Agra sought a divorce after the wife refused to wear a saree of her husband’s choice which became a source of dispute between them.
