If the schools move towards more concept understanding and application of knowledge, then AI is a great friend, and schools need not be worried about any consequences.</p>
<p>Regarding data protection, if the schools use free tools, which they normally do, there is a chance that data can be public and misused. The answer to this is to use paid versions of any app or AI Agents, which is the right way for a school to work, and it also ensures data security. A better digital infrastructure in schools with up-to-date software and no free versions or cracked versions is another way to ensure data security.</p>

This aspect of a teacher will be more relevant as society becomes increasingly digitised.</p>

<p>Technology has the power to democratise education, the more the tech gets used, the cheaper it becomes. Today a lot of AI agents and apps are quite expensive, but I see that becoming cheaper like how a lot of other tech has over the years. AI and tech can also make an average teacher more effective, this aspect of AI can make even our average government school teachers achieve better results. I see a future where the human in the classroom has the role of supporting the social-emotional learning of students, and the AI and tech tools will support the learning of subjects and knowledge. <p>Tech reviewer Marques Brownlee was allowed to test the tool by OpenAI ahead of Sora’s release. He stated that the results were “horrifying and inspiring at the same time”.</p>

<p>In October, Reddit users&nbsp;asked OpenAI executives about the release date of Sora and asked whether the launch was being delayed “due to the amount of compute/time required for inference or due to safety.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apple has launched a feature on its iMessage platform that will allow children to report nude images and videos to the tech firm that would then bring it to the notice of law enforcement agencies.</p>

<p>The change is being rolled out first in Australia from Thursday (Oct 24).</p>

<p>The beta release is part of an update of Apple's operating system and extends the safety measures earlier given to users aged under 13 since iOS 17.</p>

When such sensitive imagery is detected, the young users will be given intervention screens before they can proceed. There will be options to contact a parent or guardian and to report the images and videos to Apple. The device will then generate reports containing the visuals, as well as messages preceding and following the images and videos. The report will include contact information of both the sender and receiver. Users can fill out a form to explain what happened, which Apple will review. Action such as disabling the users' ability to send messages through iMessage will follow. Apple can also report the issue to law enforcement agencies. The tech giant said the feature will eventually be rolled out across the world after the beta test in Australia. Australia was chosen as the first region in the wake of new rules being implemented in the country to crack down on controversial content on tech platforms and devices. The new rules require companies to monitor child abuse and terror-related content on messaging and cloud services in Australia by the end of 2024. While Apple maintains that the new features would protect end-to-end encryption and raised concerns about mass surveillance, the law has been softened a bit. <p>A report by the news agency Reuters early Tuesday said that Google's agreement with Kairos Power aimed to bring the latter's first&nbsp;small modular reactor online by 2030, followed by additional deployments through 2035.</p>

<p>Google said it had agreed to buy&nbsp;500 megawatts of power from six to seven reactors, which is smaller than the output of today's nuclear reactors.</p>

<p>'Ominous' security robots, which are Dalek-like machines, now stand outside the stores to catch hold of the thieves with the help of 360-degree cameras.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The bots are placed near the entrance of Tesco stores and using an "angry Northern Irish accent", they shout at any intruders they detect while sending alerts to the authorities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Even though this robot is proving efficient, it is not very cheap and one needs to pay £100,000 ($1,33,757) per month to hire it.</p>

<p>Speaking about it, Tesco said that they have been using security robots outside the stores at night when they are closed.</p>

<p>"This photo shows a security device which is used in some stores outside of opening hours, when needed, such as to prevent burglary or following damage to our property," said a Tesco spokesman.</p>

<p>The device has yellow and blue chequered markings, similar to the UK Police, and is a PID360 security robot which has been created by Shropshire-based firm Deter Tech.</p>

<p>As per reports, the PID360 has been used around "at-risk" locations in Manchester, Bristol and Newcastle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When an intruder is detected by the robot, a 114-decibel 'Star Wars-style' warning siren goes out along with flashing lights.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Northern Irish voice, it then says, "Warning, this is security, your presence has been detected, the owner and police have been informed."</p>

<p>In less than a minute, a message, including an image of the intruder, is then sent to a central control room, manned by ex-police and military staff who will decide whether to call on-site security, the police, or a mobile response team."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per&nbsp;Deter Tech, the robot is able to deter more than "80 per cent of intrusions" and&nbsp;it can be stationed in remote locations without any power.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"With its striking design, audio alerts, and LED illuminators, the PID360 serves as a powerful deterrent against intruders on your site," stated Deter Tech.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It captures every activation with precision, and our dedicated team promptly reviews the footage and escalates any unauthorised presence detected," it added.</p>

<p>Take the case of Toniebox in which children can use figurines that, when put into a box, would play music and audio content. The researchers found that the toy records exactly when the toy is activated and by which figurine, when the child stops playback, and to which spot they rewind or fast-forward, said the release.</p>

<p>Such data is sent to the manufacturer, found the study headed by Prof Isabel Wagner of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Basel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the study to be presented at the Annual Privacy Forum in September, the researchers looked into data traffic encryption, data protection, transparency and compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They found that Toniebox and the Tiptoi Pen do not securely encrypt data traffic.</p>

<p>Toniebox collects data and sends to the manufacturer.&nbsp;"Even if the Toniebox were operated offline and only temporarily connected to the internet while downloading new audio content, the device could store collected data locally and transmit it to the manufacturer at the next opportunity," said Wagner, a professor of cyber security.</p>

In another toy that integrates ChatGPT, the researchers found that log data "regularly vanishes,” said Wagner, adding the system is probably set up to delete the local copy of transmitted data to optimise internal storage use.</p>

<p>The ChatGPT toy transmits a data stream that looks like audio. "Perhaps the company wants to optimise speech recognition for children’s voices," said Wagner.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While companies claim the data helps optimise the devices, it's not clear to users what purpose this data could serve.</p>

<p>“The apps bundled with some of these toys demand entirely unnecessary access rights, such as to a smartphone’s location or microphone,” said Wagner.</p>

<p>“Children’s privacy requires special protection,” said Julika Feldbusch, first author of the study.</p>

<p>She said toy manufacturers should place greater weight on privacy and security of their products.</p>

<p>“Well-informed parents engage with the issue and can choose toys that do not create behavioural profiles of their children. But many lack the technical knowledge or don’t have time to think about this stuff in detail,” Feldbusch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Dr Tandon, the ordeal began when she received a call from a man claiming to be a TRAI officer. The caller informed her that her mobile number was at risk of being deactivated due to 22 complaints alleging that she had sent harassing messages to various people.</p>

<p>The situation escalated when the caller informed Dr Tandon that a complaint had been filed against her and that she would soon receive a link to connect with a CBI officer to discuss the matter. Believing the caller, Dr Tandon followed the instructions and connected through the provided link, where she spoke with a man identifying himself as Rahul Gupta, a fake CBI officer.</p>

<p>Gupta then delivered alarming news, claiming that Dr Tandon's name had surfaced in a money laundering case and in a separate investigation involving the trafficking of women and children. He warned her that she faced imminent arrest.</p>

<p>In a further twist, the fraudsters offered a supposed way to avoid arrest.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They proposed that Dr Tandon be placed under "digital arrest" through a video call, during which she would be instructed not to contact anyone. They assured her that her accounts would be examined during this period and that she would be released afterwards.</p>

<p>Under the pretence of this "digital arrest," the scammers managed to extract sensitive information about five of Dr Tandon's bank accounts. Exploiting this information, they transferred approximately ₹2.81 crore from her accounts to theirs.</p>

According to an article in antivirus maker McAfee's website, GPS spoofing "is a malicious technique that manipulates" the GPS data, thereby misleading a GPS receiver about its actual location.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This could potentially cause significant disruptions, as it can misdirect navigation systems, mislead delivery vehicles, or even trick smartphone apps," it noted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>GPS signals are&nbsp;easy to block or distort, and GPS spoofing has been used to throw missiles and drones off course.</p>

<p>Now, this mode of digital attack has been used against commercial airliners, which has seen a 400 per cent rise according to aviation advisory body&nbsp;OPSGROUP.</p>

<p>These attacks were carried around conflict zones too.</p>
