The biggest and most anticipated update is being worked on Apple's new iOS 18, however, there are chances that this may turn out to be a nightmare for some iPhone users.

According to the tech giant's former employee, the new update can result in battery deterioration and lagging in older iPhones like the X, 11, 12 and 13.

This is because iOS 18 is being shaped by one of the biggest updates introduced by the company in recent years which includes adding cutting-edge artificial intelligence.

These new AI-powered features along with other updates will need more power which can prove difficult for other older models.

Here's what Apple's former employee warned about updates

Taking to social media, a former employee of Apple said that many iPhone users are likely to face a major downside of iOS 18 which is it will slow down the phone.

Former Apple Sales Specialist and content creator Tyler Morgan took to TikTok to warn people against downloading iOS 18 on their phones.

"If your phone is running perfectly well and you don't care too much about the new iOS, don't update," Morgan said in the video.

iPhones, which werelaunched in 2018, can also support iOS 18.

"It's a new update that uses more power that's really going to drain your battery and f***ing deteriorate your battery health like crazy. What happens when your battery health starts deteriorating? Yourf***ing phone starts lagging," he said.

Here's what the new AI-driven updates will introduce in iPhone

Once the new updates are launched in mid-September, various new features will be added to the iPhone which will include 'Tap to Cash' to make it easier for friends to pay, hidden apps and the own artificial intelligence system of Apple called 'Apple Intelligence'.

A few old iPhone users downloaded the beta version of iOS 18 and are reportedly facing lagging in the device.

Speaking about it, a Reddit usersaid, "iOS 18 has been so slow on the XR, it's crazy how bad it is. Omg. The phone has been slower than my old iPhone 6s."
