The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday towards the end of the Huguenot High School graduation event around 5 pm (local time) when gunshots were heard outside at Monroe Park, near the Altria Theatre.

Off-duty officers working security inside the ceremony immediately responded to the scene and found the shooting victims, police said.

Those who died include two men—an 18-year-old student and a 36-year-old attending the graduation, CNN reported citing the city’s interim police chief Rick Edwards.

One of the injured is reported to have life-threatening injuries, while four others have injuries that were not considered life-threatening.&nbsp;At least 12 others were injured or treated for anxiety due to the mayhem, according to police.

US man arrested for allegedly shooting a 14-year-old girl playing hide and seek

One person was killed and six others suffered injuries after a shooting took place during a Cinco de Mayo party that was being held at a restaurant in Mississippi late on Friday night, said police.

In a press release, Ocean Springs Police Capt Ryan LeMaire confirmed that the assailant shot at seven people at The Scratch Kitchen on Government Street.

The surviving victims were shifted to area hospitals where they received treatment, said LeMaire. The media reports did not specify how badly the people were injured.

The man who lost his life in the shootout was identified by the police as Chase Harmon, 19, of Pascagoula.

The owner of Scratch Kitchen, while speaking to the Sun Herald, said that there were around 200 people present at the restaurant when the shootout took place.

The shooter ran past the restaurant employees who were carrying out security checks at the entrance to the patio and forcefully entered the premises.

The 26-year-old gunman&nbsp;shot dead his&nbsp;50-year-old mother and 74-year-old grandmother at two neighbouring homes and killed a woman, aged 41,&nbsp;Brock told AP. He also said that all&nbsp;three women appeared to have been shot multiple times.&nbsp; 
 
The shooter was later identified as&nbsp;Kentavious White who&nbsp;fatally shot his&nbsp;manager&nbsp;identified as 41-year-old Amia Smith, said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The&nbsp;security camera footage from McDonald’s in Moultrie showed White, shooting the store manager after getting her to come to the door Thursday morning.&nbsp; 
 
They also found two women related to White had been shot at neighbouring homes which were less than 3.2 kilometres away, said the GBI, in a statement on Thursday evening, adding that&nbsp;one of the women passed away&nbsp;after being taken to a hospital.&nbsp;

Previously, the GBI&nbsp;said in a statement only that there had been “multiple fatalities” at different crime scenes in the area, reported the AP. The state's&nbsp;leading law enforcement agency also said&nbsp;Moultrie Police Department requested its assistance.&nbsp;

An eyewitness&nbsp;Sabrina Holweger, as per AP, said that&nbsp;police blocked off a main street that runs in front of the McDonald’s. According to&nbsp;Holweger, the woman who died at the restaurant was the early morning manager and that the shooter was an employee. 
 
Brock told CBS News the shooter shot his mother and grandmother at their homes. The media report also said that his mother&nbsp;died at the scene, but the grandmother, who lived next door to her daughter, was taken to the hospital and passed away.&nbsp; 
 
In a statement,&nbsp;George Suarez, owner and operator of the McDonald’s in Moultrie, said that the restaurant will be closed until further notice. "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved restaurant manager, and our hearts go out to all the victims of this senseless act of violence," said Suarez.&nbsp;

Atlanta police announced the arrest of suspect Deion Patterson, 24, at around 8 p.m., almost eight hours after the deadly shooting shortly after noon.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

The police department had earlier issued a "shelter in place" alert and said they are investigating an active shooter in the Midtown Atlanta's&nbsp;Northside Hospital Medical, area of 1110 W Peachtree St NW.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;shelter-in-place order has since&nbsp;been lifted in Midtown Atlanta, said police officials. 
 
Police officers clustered outside the front entrance of the Northside Medical building&nbsp;while multiple helicopters hovered overhead. 
 
"Three have been transported to the hospital for treatment and a fourth has been pronounced deceased on scene," said local police officials, adding that they have not&nbsp;heard any additional shots. 
 
The police department had&nbsp;released images of the suspect and said, "Based&nbsp;on our preliminary investigation, these are photos believed to be of the active shooter."&nbsp; 
 
The suspect,&nbsp;later&nbsp;identified as&nbsp;Deion Patterson (24), was arrested after an hours-long manhunt, "The suspect is in custody,"&nbsp;said the APD, without giving any further details.

One woman, aged 39,&nbsp;died from her injuries. However, no other information was released about the victims.&nbsp; 
 
Atlanta&nbsp;Public Schools said several schools in the area would operate on external lockdown for the rest of the day "out of an abundance of caution." Meanwhile,&nbsp;Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said that he is in "close contact" with the APD and that those in the area should "shelter in place".&nbsp;

Police cordoned blocks of streets in Midtown, impeding the flow of traffic in the district. According to media reports, an&nbsp;hour after the gunfire, a SWAT team gathered near the High Art Museum, which is around one kilometre away from the shooting scene.&nbsp; 
 
Meanwhile, the&nbsp;Northside Hospital&nbsp;also took to Twitter and said they are "cooperating with law enforcement" after the shooting and urged everyone to "shelter in place and follow instructions from law enforcement on the scene."&nbsp;

Subsequently, he reportedly took an unattended pickup truck and 20 minutes later cameras picked up the vehicle’s tag number and police were alerted, said Hampton. The police were alerted shortly after about the suspect being in&nbsp;Cobb County, just northwest of Atlanta.&nbsp;

The authorities also revealed that the shooter, a 25-year-old bank employee, live-streamed the attack when he opened fire at his workplace.&nbsp;

The death toll reached five when Louisville authorities confirmed in the evening that a fifth victim, a 57-year-old woman, had died of her injuries. Police also shot and killed the alleged attacker, who has been identified as a white man named Connor Sturgeon. He was an employee of Old National Bank, located downtown in Kentucky's largest city.&nbsp;

Police said that they reached at the scene within three minutes of receiving reports of gunfire in the bank at 8:38am (1238 GMT). Interim police chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel told an afternoon press conference that the suspect even shot at officers, who returned fire and killed him.&nbsp;

Gwinn-Villaroel said that the "weapon of choice was a rifle", but she didn't specify whether or not it was an assault weapon of the ones that are commonly used in such shootings in the US.&nbsp;

The police chief further confirmed that the shooter had broadcast a live video of the attack on Instagram. AFP in its report mentioned that a spokesperson for Meta, the social media app's parent company, told the news agency that it was "in touch with law enforcement and quickly removed the live stream of this tragic incident this morning."&nbsp;

As they seek space to come to terms with the reality and grieve for the loss of their daughter, the family in a statement said, “Our hearts are completely broken. We cannot believe this has happened." “Evelyn was a shining light in this world," reported CNN quoting the statement by the family.&nbsp;

A 61-year-old member of the facilities and kitchen staff, Mike Hill had a passion for cooking. Students had given Hill a nickname, "Big Mike."&nbsp;

Hill's family in a statement after the Nashville incident said, “We would like to thank the Nashville community for all the continued thoughts and prayers. As we grieve and try to grasp any sense of understanding of why this happened, we continue to ask for support."&nbsp;

“We pray for the Covenant School and are so grateful that Michael was beloved by the faculty and students who filled him with joy for 14 years,” the statement from the family of Hill, a grandfather of 14 said.&nbsp;

Head of the school that came under gunfire, 60-year-old Katherine Koonce "gave her life" to the safety of the students, a co-worker said.&nbsp;

Daughter of Covenant Presbyterian Church Lead Pastor Chad Scruggs, Hallie Scruggs, was another of the six victims that got entangled in the Monday Nashville shooting mess.&nbsp;

A liberal&nbsp;arts college in Waterville, Maine went into lockdown on Saturday morning after a shot was fired in a student housing complex. The shot was reportedly fired during a "massive annual party", ABC News reported.

US: Shot fired in Maine college during annual party, lockdown imposed

Five people, including a girl, were shot during the Krewe of Bacchus parade in New Orleans, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) said. The incident occurred Sunday night. According to reports, one of the victims is fatally injured.

The victims include a woman and three men. All of them have been admitted to a hospital, while the condition of one of the victims is serious, NOPD Chief Deputy Hans Ganthier said but he did not specify which victim.

One person has been detained at the scene in connection with the shooting, the police said.

Two guns were recovered, police said, adding that they aren’t certain whether anyone else was involved in the shooting.

US: At least three dead, four injured in another shooting at Los Angeles, California

A&nbsp;Safeway employee who had previously served in the US&nbsp;Army for 20 years engaged a shooter in the produce area of the Bend, Oregon, supermarket, possibly saving additional lives after a shooting that left the employee and one other person dead.

Police lauded the worker, 66-year-old Donald Ray Surrett Jr. of Bend, as a hero and claimed that his actions may have rescued customers at the store in the high-desert city encircled by mountains in the state's centre. Customer Glenn Edward Bennett, 84, of Bend, was also killed Sunday night, according to police spokesperson Sheila Miller.

“Mr. Surrett engaged with the shooter, attempted to disarm him and may very well have prevented further deaths. Mr. Surrett acted heroically turning this terrible event,” Miller said at a news conference as she struggled against tears.
