“The technology we’re using to make Black Adam fly has never been done before. It’s completely unique. It was critical for us to ensure that it felt special, authentic and real. [Director] Jaume [Collet-Serra] took that to heart. Our special effects team are Oscar winners, and we certainly put them to work… He has super speed, can fly and has world-breaking strength to name a few. We wanted to make sure moviegoers feel that throughout the entire movie (sic),” Garcia was quoted as saying.

The goal was to “push the bar in terms of how we do it. … You’re not going to see him use super speed just once and then it stops, this is part of his arsenal,” he added.

As for the film’s PG-13 rating, Garcia said, “This will be PG-13, but it’s not because we’re being forced to be PG-13. The way we devised the movie, it just wasn’t necessary to make it R, and it’s something we discussed because we did want to be true to the character,” he said. “This movie can thrive in a PG-13 space and that’s great for us because we want to introduce Back Adam to as many people as possible.”

Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix—after learning that the bears on the property worked on his 2003 film 'Brother Bear, from PETA—has reportedly sent a letter to offer help to have the animals transferred so that they can retire from show business.

As per reports, the website for Florida’s Bearadise Ranch describes the facility as home to the ‘famous Welde family bears’. Established in 1926, the ranch seeks to ‘educate and generate public awareness for habitat preservation and conservation for all bear species’ while also offering its 13 bears for hire on movie and television projects and for traveling fairs and festivals where they do tricks and shows.

Two of the bears that live on the property are Bruno and Bambi—a pair—according to Bearaside’s Facebook page, reportedly, were used as inspiration for the animated characters in Disney’s 2003 ‘Brother Bear’. Joaquin Phoenix voiced the lead character of Kenai.

Directed by Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker, the film follows an Inuit hunter who magically turns into a bear as punishment after killing one.

Joaquin Phoenix has now drafted a letter to have Bruno and Bambi transferred out of the facility and into ‘an accredited sanctuary’.

“These bears deserve better than a life on the road, where they are robbed of everything that’s natural and important to them, and if you put yourself in their place, I’m sure you’d see that, too,” writes Phoenix in the letter… You know firsthand that bears are curious, complex animals who love to climb, dig, forage, and play. Their acute sense of smell and plate-sized paws evolved so that they could seek out mates and food across vast distances, but those carefully honed traits are wasted on the county fair circuit, where they’re relegated to transport cages when they’re not pulling hoops over their heads and carrying basketballs around in front of crowds of strangers,” Phoenix reportedly wrote in his letter addressed to Bearaside Ranch owner Monica Welde.

The actor is a passionate vegan and animal rights activist who has used his popularity in the past to save cows from slaughter and to get Hollywood to ditch meat-filled menus at award shows.

The Ranch owner is yet to react to the actor’s letter, reports claim.

We often remember Penn Badgley as sweet and simple Dan Humphrey from 'Gossip Girl'. Penn made his TV debut with a 2007 show about the privileged upper-class adolescents living in Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The show was a major hit and all the cast of the show witnessed overnight success. Penn recently addressed the fame he got from the teen drama and how he felt it is a responsibility to use his fame to do good and better in the world.

In the same interview, the 'You' star also shared his experience with anxiety.

In a new interview with Rainn Wilson’s 'Baha’i Blogcast with Rainn Wilson', Badgle said, "The most meaningful form of action I saw, as a person who'd been on 'Gossip Girl', as a person who had at this point hundreds of thousands of followers—yeah, because I got on social media late. If I had gotten on in the middle of Gossip Girl, I very well could've had millions upon millions—so I was thinking, the most meaningful contribution I have to make as an individual is on these platforms."

He went on and shared, "And in trying to have a pure intention and honest interaction on these spaces, I also found that I was completely overwhelmed by being conscious of how many likes or retweets or whatever. It was such a convoluted way to be like, 'acting.'"

Further, he said, playing up his fame on social media was like being "wrapped up in ego and our materialist culture."

"It was not the most fulfilling or meaningful contribution that I could make as an individual seeking to better the world," the You star said.

If I had gotten on in the middle of Gossip Girl, I very well could've had millions upon millions—so I was thinking, the most meaningful contribution I have to make as an individual is on these platforms." He went on and shared, "And in trying to have a pure intention and honest interaction on these spaces, I also found that I was completely overwhelmed by being conscious of how many likes or retweets or whatever. It was such a convoluted way to be like, 'acting.'" Further, he said, playing up his fame on social media was like being "wrapped up in ego and our materialist culture." "It was not the most fulfilling or meaningful contribution that I could make as an individual seeking to better the world," the You star said. Jennifer Garner recently signed a big deal with Netflix. The 49-year-old actress will be starring and producing multiple films for the streamer. Under the deal, Garner is working on a sequel to her 2021 film 'Yes Day'. She is set to produce the sequel for the streamer, where she will reprise her role as Allison Torres, a mom who gives her kids 24 hours to make the rules. The second 'Yes Day' film is currently in development. The family comedy, based on a children’s book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, debuted on Netflix in March. The film centred on a mom and dad who usually say 'no', and then decide to say 'yes' to their kids' wildest requests — with a few ground rules — on a whirlwind day of fun and adventure. Garner will next star in the Netflix sci-fi film 'The Adam Project' alongside Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana and Mark Ruffalo. She is also set to star in and produce the comedy film 'Family Leave', inspired by the book Bedtime for Mommy by 'Yes Day' author Amy Krouse Rosenthal, as per THR. In reference to the announcement, Garner said, “I am honoured to join the awesome group of creatives in the Netflix family, and I am extremely excited to work with their passionate and innovative teams across all departments. I had the most gratifying, creative, experience bringing ‘Yes Day’ to life.''

Grammy-nominated rapper-singer-songwriter Raja Kumari has recently unveiled her brand-new single ‘Firestarter’.

The record mixes trap beats with Indian classical music, continuing Raja’s mission to trailblaze a musical connection between the East and the West.

The ‘Firestarter’ video is directed by MTV VMA 2020 titleholder Michael Garcia.

Recently, the artiste also performed a tribute in memory of late singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, paying homage to the Grammy-winning music legend on the 10th anniversary of her passing at a live-stream concert.

On July 23—titled ‘Back To Amy’—the event took place at City Winery Nashville, the site of a new physical exhibit dedicated to Winehouse, and was a collaborative effort between MusiCares® Foundation, the philanthropic partner of the Recording Academy, and the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The event included performances, recordings from around the globe and spoken-word dispatches from other musicians.

Speaking about her new release, Raja Kumari expands, “After the last 16 months that we spent in the pandemic it was important for me to put out something that represented what I was going through. I just love how universal the record is and how it’s for everyone. The song represents being reborn and rising from the ashes like a phoenix and the need to constantly reinvent yourself and not being fearful about it. This is my 25th music video and I have accepted now that it’s my job to make these visual pieces of musical art. It’s been almost two years since I’ve been on the set, specifically for my own independent music video, where it’s about the fashion and the production. This is the first time that I didn’t take the whole creation process too seriously as I wanted it to be fun and free flowing.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Raja Kumari (@therajakumari) ×

Lady Kitty Spencer— Princess Diana’s niece—who is known for her impeccable fashion sense and her connections to the fashion world, tied the knot with businessman and Foschini Group board chair Michael Lewis at the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, Italy, on July 24. The fashionista has been posting gorgeous pictures from her wedding day and if looks could kill, these pictures would be it. She captioned one of her pictures as, “Amore. Per Sempre ♥️ #DGFattoAMano @dolcegabbana #AltaModa” Spencer, who had gotten not one but five gowns made from Dolce & Gabbana, wore a Victorian era-inspired lace ballroom gown for walking down the aisle that had a corseted bodice, puffed shoulders, mockneck, and rows of delicate buttons down the sleeves. The same stitching was used for her long, floor-sweeping veil.
American actor and comedian Mindi Kaling recently expressed she was `surprised` that her upcoming role as a "reimagined" Velma in HBO Max`s new `Scooby-Doo` spinoff has been met with backlash.

According to USA Today, `The Office` alum is set to executive produce and star in `Velma`, in which she`ll play Mystery Inc.`s uber-intelligent Velma Dinkley.

"When it was announced (in February) that I was going to do the voice of Velma, people were very supportive and happy on Twitter. So I felt great because these are really intense fans - cartoon, comic-book fans," Kaling said during an appearance on NBC`s `Late Night With Seth Meyers`But the spinoff will look a little different than the children`s cartoon, Tom Ascheim, president of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults, and Classics, announced in June.

Unlike its predecessor, `Velma` will be an adult animated comedy series that tells the origin story of the "unsung and underappreciated brains" of the mystery-solving gang. But this Velma, of South Asian descent, lives in a world with no talking Great Dane or a groovy Mystery Machine van.

Kaling admitted she was surprised that Velma "elicited such strong reactions in either direction," noting that only "a small percentage of people" reacted negatively."It made me think, `OK, we`ve got to be really careful with this character,` which we will be because we love her and she`s going to have great adventures," she said.
National award-winning filmmaker Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s third Bengali feature film Once Upon A Time in Calcutta has been selected in the Orizzonti (Horizons) section of the 78th Venice International Film Festival.

It is the only film from India to have its world premiere at the prestigious film festival, to be held from September 1 to 11. This year’s line-up of the festival was unveiled by artistic director Alberto Barbera and Roberto Cicutto, president of La Biennale di Venezia on Monday.

Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s debut film Labour of Love won the FEDEORA award for the best debut at the festival’s Venice Days section in 2014, while his second film, Jonaki premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2018. Labour of Love also won the National Film Award for the best first film of a director.

Inspired by true events, the film is the director’s homage to Calcutta and follows the life of a bereaved mother desperately trying to find a new identity, love and independence, but soon realizes that she is not the only scavenger in a city brimming with hunger.

“Venice is a dream festival for any filmmaker and we are extremely grateful and excited to be back with a Bengali film about the city, especially on the 100 birth centenary of Satyajit Ray,” Sengupta said in a statement.

He calls the film a culmination of personal feelings and emotions for the city and its people, especially as it tries to catch up to the rapidly changing world.

“Leveraging real characters and actual events, the film is my effort to chip away the various layers of the previously communist city to reveal a human condition that is tragic and yet full of hope and joy.

“The film highlights the aspirations and struggles of people gasping for breath in an ever-expanding metropolis. For the viewer, I have tried to create a real glimpse into the murky waters of Calcutta, with colourful characters, all trying very hard to find a corner of their own without drowning,” he said describing the film.

Along with screen veterans such as Sreelekha Mitra and Bratya Basu, the film features an ensemble cast including Satrajit Sarkar, Arindam Ghosh, Reetika Nondine Shimu and Anirban Chakrabarti along with young debutant Shayak Roy.

A cast of non-professional actors, including Sengupta’s own father, Tridib Sengupta, has also featured in significant roles.

The film is shot by Palm d’Or winner Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s cinematographer Gokhan Tiryaki, and the music is composed by Dutch composer Minco Eggersman.

Presented by Wishberry Films and produced by For Films in association with Catherine Dussart Productions (France) and DUOFilm AS (Norway), the film is supported by Cannes L’Atleier, NFDC Film Bazaar, Sorfond and CNC cinema du monde.

Once Upon A Time in Calcutta will compete with 18 other films including 'Pilgrims', 'Amira', 'Atlantide', 'The Falls', 'A Plein Temps', '107 Mothers', 'White Building' and 'True Things'.

Chibnall also teased that the upcoming Season 13 will be different from previous seasons because it will be all one story, and will start with the Doctor and Yaz have travelled together.

“It’s all one story, so every episode is a chapter in a bigger story. We’ve changed the shape of the series for this year,” Chris shared.
The decision of a singular story was in response to the pandemic and safety protocols on the set. The pandemic has also shortened this season to eight episodes.

“Before we started making it, there were times when we thought we were going to be unable to do the show under Covid conditions this year… there were two ways you could go,” Chris adds.

“You could go ‘let’s do lots of tiny little episodes in one room, with no monsters,’ or we could throw down the gauntlet and do the biggest story we’ve ever done. We’re going to go to all kinds of different places, we’re going to have all kinds of characters and monsters, and it’s all going to be part of a bigger whole. It’s definitely the most ambitious thing we’ve done since we’ve been on the series.”

The series is still in production for Season 13 but expects its first shows to arrive this year. No release date was revealed. Season 13 will be available on BBC America and AMC+ in the US.

Taylor Swift gave fans a major surprise. Celebrating one year anniversary of her Grammy winner album 'Folklore' album, Swift released an alternate, 'original' version of bonus track 'The Lakes'. The 31 year old singer took her social media to share the big news, ''It’s been 1 year since we escaped the real world together and imagined ourselves someplace simpler,” Taylor wrote. “With tall trees & salt air. Where you can wear lace nightgowns that make you look like a Victorian ghost & no one will side eye you cause no one is around.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) × “To say thank you for all you have done to make this album what it was,” she added. “I wanted to give you the original version of ‘The Lakes’.
It's a mad world. And strange things happen everywhere. Facts are sometimes truly whackier than fiction. A man declared dead by no less than 3 doctors 'woke up' just before his autopsy.

The incident, mentioned in a report by ScienceAlert, took place in Spain.

The day was January 7, 2018. Gonzalo Montoya Jimenez, a prisoner serving prison sentence in a Spanish prison was found unresponsive. The prisoner was attended by two doctors who were on duty that day in the prison. Jimenez was declared dead by both of them.

Just to be sure, apparently, a forensic doctor was called in and the prisoner was declared dead the third time.

Usual bureaucratic procedures kicked in, Jimenez was put in a body bag and kept in cold storage of the mortuary. His body was marked with scalpel marks to carry out the autopsy.

It was in the mortuary that physicians realised something was terrbly wrong. They heard sound of snoring.

Coming from inside the body bag!

By this time, Jimenez had spent time in the cold storage and inside the body bag. But he was miraculously not dead.

He was then shifted to a hospital where he was said to be in stable condition.

Hospital authorities told the media that this could have been a case of Catalepsy, in which human body enters a seizure or trans-like stage and loses consciousness and sensation.

It's unimaginable what would have happened had Jimenez not woke up in time!

Last year, Amanda Kloots left devastated after she lost her husband and Broadway actor husband, Nick Cordero, due to complications from COVID-19. Now, after a year Kloots is moving on in her life.

The mother of one recently revealed that she has re-entered the dating room. The co-host of 'The Talk' opened up about her new love life on Friday's episode of the show.

By not sharing many details, Kloots said, "Both of my husbands, I met doing Broadway shows. We became friends first, then we got married. Obviously with Nick, we had a child," she said.

"I've never actually had to date. I just started dating again and it is so crazy to be dating for the first time at 39 years old. And it's quite terrifying and really out of your element, and it's just hard. It is hard."

Talking further she added, "It's all wonderful. It's wonderful people I'm meeting, and it's been a great process so far," she added. "But I'll just say it's very hard without getting into too many details. It's very hard."

Kloots was previously married to actor David Larsen and then tied the knot with Cordero in 2017. The two shares 2-year-old son Elvis.
Earlier this month, Amanda and her son marked the first death anniversary of her husband. Remembering him, Kloots penned a heartfelt message to the late Broadway star.

"One Year, today hurts, there is no other way around it," Kloots began.

It is hard." Talking further she added, "It's all wonderful. It's wonderful people I'm meeting, and it's been a great process so far," she added. "But I'll just say it's very hard without getting into too many details. It's very hard."
