The MIFT team at Monsters Inc. has to break up with the vending machine—fondly called Vendy—as Mike (voice by Ben Feldman) has mistakenly broken it and now it wouldn’t dispose the much-needed energy drinks. Angry, agitated, his boss threatens to fire him if he doesn’t fix that one piece of item with the highest sentimental value in their office. How do they navigate this issue and get to the other side of things forms the crux of episode six of the ‘Monsters At Work’ story.

The most common trope in an animation film/ series—across various sub-genres—largely circles around the conflict-resolution format. And ‘Monsters At Work’ is headed in that direction. In terms of narrative, the episode six of this 10-part series is a replica of what has already been shown in the previous part, in essence, only with a different obstacle to overcome.

Considering the freshness and element of nostalgia has started to lose its steam—this TV series is a sequel to a 20-year-old movie—we wonder what director Kaitlyn Ritter and supervising director Stephen J. Anderson have to offer going forward.

Also, the more interesting aspects of this visually enriched animation series have been mercilessly dropped, or so it seems—what happened to the school for training monsters to be jokesters? And, why is an ambitious Tyler still working a job he not-so-while-ago utterly despised? These underlying themes, introduced early on in the series, have been shoved in the backseat as the story progresses.

This episode, titled ‘The Vending Machine’, is a ho-hum version of feel-good animation work by an otherwise marvellous Pixar Animation Studios.

Disney has revealed the first look of its Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, a two-night Florida hotel experience that costs more than going on an actual cruise.

On Wednesday, Disney released more details about its Star Wars-themed hotel that included a trailer and an out-of-this-world price breakdown: 6000 USD per family to be precise.

A two-night immersive experience at Walt Disney World that’s billed as “part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game,” the company claims, as per reports.

The lowest announced pricing tier is 4,809 USD for two guests. That includes a standard cabin, food and drink (alcohol excluded, which would cost extra) and ‘the experience’ includes activities such as light saber training, bridge crew training and a planet excursion to Batuu (a.k.a. the Galaxy’s Edge park).

A family of four can expect to pay a minimum of $5,999 (approx).

However, Disney is yet to reveal the prices of the hotel’s upgraded rooms, dubbed the Galaxy Chess Suite — which includes two windows, looking out into “space” — and the Grand Captain Suite (comprising three space windows), but it would not be wrong to assume that these experiences are most impressive. There are other add-ons too such as Captain’s Table seating as opposed to eating at communal tables in the “Crown of Corellia Dining Room.”

Recently, Priyanka Chopra Jonas—who has been busy shooting for her upcoming show 'Citadel' in London—took some time out to enjoy summer days in London.

After spending quality time and touring around the picturesque city with her friends and dogs, Chopra later dumped her pictures on her Instagram account, which was then followed by yet another ravishing photo of herself on her social media account.

Dressed in a white plunging neckline-outfit, Priyanka can be seen sporting beach waves with nude, barely there make-up complementing her overall look. She captioned the picture as, “#selfiemode #citadel (sic).”

Media giant—Sony Pictures—has seen a dip in its first-quarter profit from $247 million last year to $232.7 million, representatives have shared this news with the media.

On Wednesday, Sony Corporation has reported its April-to-June earnings at its headquarters in Tokyo. The Japanese conglomerate attributed the 1.7 percent decline in earnings at the pictures division —covering movies, TV networks and TV production — to increased production costs that more than offset higher revenue.

The quarterly revenue at Sony Pictures climbed from $245 million in the quarter to $1.87 billion, a 15 percent increase in the over-the-year period.

Revenue for its motion pictures rose, too, but only marginally. The studio’s television production business and home entertainment segment recorded decreases. Networks revenue rose “due to higher advertising and subscription revenues,” the company said in a statement.

While some of its contemporaries have sought to emulate Netflix by launching their own costly direct-to-consumer streaming services, Sony has opted to remain a producer and licensor in a seller’s market. To that end, Sony inked a pair of lucrative, multi-year licensing deals for its film output with both Netflix and Disney in April.

After receiving unanimous acclaim from all international quarters, ‘The Green Knight’ is set to captivate Indian audiences on August 27, confirm reports.

Directed by visionary storyteller David Lowery, ‘The Green Knight’ follows the epic journey of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew who seeks to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a mythical, dangerous and gigantic entity.

Recently, talking about his debut project ‘Skins’—where he played the character Anwar—the BAFTA-winning actor, Dev Patel, told a global newspaper that constant talks and listicles on his ‘ugly’ looks had taken a toll on him and that it was all too ‘brutal’.

“There were all these lists of who's the favorite character on the show or who was the best-looking character, and I was always the ugliest, the least attractive. No one liked Anwar. It really took a toll on me personally… That kind of speaks to my natural low self-esteem,” he was quoted as saying.

With a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, ‘The Green Knight’ is performing well globally. While Rolling Stone magazine awarded the film a solid 4.5 stars, the New York Times opined that 'this movie is worth watching twice'.

Commenting on the recent development, Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR Pictures, said, “No one wants films back on the big screens more than we do. We are looking forward to supporting our partners in exhibition with the release of The Green Knight on 27th August, and with a steady supply of other world-class films, while also giving moviegoers an opportunity to see some amazing films. We are grateful to our movie studios and filmmaking partners for working with us and responding to these circumstances.”

When asked what has been the most surprising thing about fatherhood, the English actor kept it real.

In the post-pandemic world, regular film shoots have come to resemble sci-si storyboards

Just in case you are wondering how the world’s most prolific film industry is dealing with the pandemic, here are a series of pictures that seem surreal if you compare them to the old normal. Not too long ago, film sets were spontaneously interactive places bustling with production crews, seamless energy and round-the-clock activity.

Since the onset of the pandemic, film sets have become ultra-sanitised, hyper-vigilant spaces that seem to mimic science fiction rather than real life. Post the rising infection rates all around and even among top-ranking actors, the industry is trying its best to adapt to the challenges posed by COVID-19 and is relying on specialised services to pandemic proof their sets. One man who is spearheading this shift is Aditya Gupta, an industry insider and the brain behind India’s first set safety company, ‘Life First’.

The snapshots below depict how he is protecting some of the best-known production houses with the help of state-of-the-art sanitation equipment, pandemic adaptive technology and bio bubbles. The mantra of the company being, “We put your life first.”

In the post-pandemic world, regular film shoots have come to resemble sci-si storyboards Just in case you are wondering how the world’s most prolific film industry is dealing with the pandemic, here are a series of pictures that seem surreal if you compare them to the old normal. The mantra of the company being, “We put your life first.” Among the clients who trust this message are Ram Madhvani, Dharma Productions, Netflix, Red Chillies Entertainment, Excel Entertainment, Amazon Prime Video, Abundantia Entertainment, and many others. ‘Life First’ has also supervised the safety protocols of over 700 ad films.
Nobel Prize winner Bob Dylan does not have to hand over a portion of his $300 million sale of his entire song catalog to Universal Music, a New York judge reportedly ruled on Friday.

The judge reportedly rejected a complaint from the estate of Jacques Levy, who collaborated with Dylan on his 1976 album ‘Desire’.

Levy’s widow targeted at least $7.25 million from the sale of 10 songs, including ‘Hurricane’ but Dylan argued that the songs were written under a work-for-hire arrangement that only entitled him to royalties, specifically 35 percent of the licensing proceeds for the songs.

New York Supreme Court Justice Barry Ostrager is with Dylan on this.

“For the reasons explained here, the Court determines that the plain meaning of the 1975 Agreement is that the Dylan Defendants owned all copyrights to the Compositions, as well as the absolute right to sell the Compositions and all associated rights, subject only to plaintiffs’ right to receive the compensation specified in the 1975 Agreement, which does not include any portion of the proceeds from Dylan’s sale of his own rights to the Universal Defendants,” the judge reportedly wrote.

Barry Ostrager pays attention to how Levy attempted to establish joint authorship in the compositions, including witnesses to the relationship between the songwriters and affidavits from experts, but ultimately the judge sees the contract as unambiguous and precluding such a claim.

The judge also rejects the claim that Levy’s estate is a third-party beneficiary of the Universal agreement.

Taylor Swift emotional song 'Ranon' will be one of the 30's songs that will be included on her upcoming album 'Red' (Taylor’s Version).

The song is about a four-year-old boy’s fatal battle with cancer. Swift took permission from Ronan Thompson's mother Maya Thompson, to include the emotional song on her remastered album.

Maya revealed that Swift had emailed her and asked for her permission to include the single. Taylor originally released the song in the year 2012 and performed the song for 'Stand Up to Cancer telethon.'

“She is and will always be one of the things I hold dearest to my heart, and her beautiful words will remain private,” Maya said.

In part of the email, Swift wrote, “I’ve recently completed the re-recording of my 4th album, Red. It’s really exceeded my expectations in so many ways, and one of those ways is that I thought it would be appropriate to add ‘Ronan’ to this album. Red was an album of heartbreak and healing, of rage and rawness, of tragedy and trauma, and of the loss of an imagined future alongside someone. I wrote ‘Ronan’ while I was making Red and discovered your story as you so honestly and devastatingly told it. My genuine hope is that you’ll agree with me that this song should be included on this album. As my co-writer and the rightful owner of this story in its entirety, your opinion and approval of this idea really matters to me, and I’ll honour your wishes here.”

''Tears sprang to my eyes," Maya recalled. "It took me an hour to absorb the words in front of me. I cried while sharing the news."

In the blog, Maya then addressed her son, “Taylor has anchored you to this world so you will never be lost, and now she has ensured you will forever be safe in a new, permanent home. She is once again giving a voice to the often voiceless, bereaved parents of the world as well as childhood cancer which deserves so much more funding than it gets.”

A month back, Swift announced her 2012 album 'Red' will be her next re-recorded album. Swift took her Twitter and announced that the re-recorded version of the album is set to release on Nov. 19 and will feature all 30 songs that were originally meant to go on her fourth studio album.

“I’ve always said that the world is a different place for the heartbroken. It moves on a different axis, at a different speed. Time skips backwards and forwards fleetingly. The heartbroken might go through thousands of micro-emotions a day trying to figure out how to get through it without picking up the phone to hear that old familiar voice. In the land of heartbreak, moments of strength, independence, and devil-may-care rebellion are intricately woven together with grief, paralyzing vulnerability and hopelessness. Imagining your future might always take you on a detour back to the past. And this is all to say, that the next album I’ll be releasing is my version of Red,” she wrote in a statement.

On Tapsee Pannu 34th birthday, a look at her most remarkable on-screen performances

Veteran producer Anand Pandit hopes to release his much-awaited Amitabh Bachchan and Emran Hashmi starrer ‘Chehre’ in the near future but the memories associated with the film’s making will remain with him forever.

On Friendship Day, Pandit recalls how the superstar has shaped his worldview and says, “Even as a young boy, watching him play the quirky best friend in ‘Sholay’ taught me that friendship is about fun, camaraderie and also about having each other’s back at all times. And meeting him decades later taught me so much more. Today Amit ji is not just a friend but an inspiration. There is so much to learn from him. His career alone is a huge lesson in resilience, longevity and consistency. And his life demonstrates how to face challenges and triumph every time.”

Pandit recalls how during the ‘Chehre’ shoot, Bachchan was a thorough professional on the sets and a warm and generous presence after work. Recalls Pandit, “He is a treasure-trove of anecdotes, wisdom and humour. He regaled the cast and the crew with so many stories. Everyone felt so privileged to listen to him. There are so many aspects of the industry’s past and even present that we came to know about only because of these conversations.”

Pandit says that as a friend too, Bachchan has always gone out of his way to be of help, especially during the pandemic. He says, “I know that I can always go to Amit ji with an idea pertaining to social welfare and he will not say, ‘No.’ Regardless of how busy he is, he is always there to help and was a big part of the Covid relief centres we created across Mumbai.”

Pandit concludes, “Knowing him is a privilege and to have him in your life is a blessing. I am truly fortunate to have not just got an opportunity to work with him but to call him my friend and learn from him constantly.”

South Indian film star Dulquer Salmaan—who has made his way into Bollywood with films like ‘Karwaan’ (2018) and ‘The Zoya factor’ (2019)—wished his co-star Mrunal Thakur on her birthday in a unique fashion. The actor has teamed up with Hanu Raghavapudi—a director-screenwriter known for his Telegu-language films—for a romantic war film where the protagonist will be seen as Lieutenant Ram. The makers have today introduced the actress to play opposite Dulquer in the movie, Mrunal Thakur, a Bollywood actor. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dulquer Salmaan (@dqsalmaan) × The birthday post, which is also the first look of their upcoming, yet-to-be-titled romantic saga, sees Thakur dressed in a bottle green saree and exuding 50s-60s India vibe through her attire. Her eyes are locked with Salmaan’s as he takes a picture of her with his Polaroid. Mrunal Thakur’s playing the role of Sita in the film. She was last seen in 'Toofaan' with Farhan Akhtar. The crew has completed a shooting schedule in Kashmir. Interestingly, Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday post—he turned 35 on July 28—was also a ‘thank you’ note for the cast and crew of the film. In his first-look poster, Salmaan can be seen navigating a snow-clad road while sitting at the back of a bicycle, looking straight into the camera.
Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu turns 34 today and while some may chose to throw big parties to ring in the new year of their lives, the ‘Haseen Dillruba’ star chose to head to the picturesque Nainital instead.

Staring into oblivion, Taapsee captioned her mountain-based birthday post as, “Last week has been tough, tricky, testing but with this sunrise and this new year I shall again gather the strength to look forward to what life has in store for me coz….. Utho to aise utho, fakr ho bulandi ko. Jhuko to aise jhuko, bandgi bhi naaz kare (sic).”

Screen actor Bob Odenkirk, best known as the sardonic, morally conflicted criminal defence lawyer on television's 'Better Call Saul,' said on Friday he was recovering from a mild heart attack after collapsing on the set of his show earlier this week.

Odenkirk, 58, fell ill in New Mexico on Tuesday during the production of the sixth and final season of his darkly humorous AMC cable network series and was taken to a hospital in Albuquerque for treatment.

Representatives for the performer issued a statement the next day saying he was listed in stable condition "after experiencing a heart-related incident."

In a pair of Twitter posts on Friday, Odenkirk was a bit more specific, saying, "I had a small heart attack. But I`m going to be OK thanks to Rosa Estrada and the doctors who knew how to fix the blockage without surgery." The reference to Rosa Estrada was not explained.

He also thanked the AMC network and producers Sony Pictures Television for their support, and family and friends for "the outpouring of love," adding, "I`m going to take a beat to recover but I`ll be back soon."

Longtime friend and former HBO sketch comedy co-star David Cross tweeted earlier that he had spoken earlier by telephone with Odenkirk, whom he described as "doing great" and "joking, japing and joshing."

Odenkirk began his career as a comedy writer for several shows in the late 1980s and early `90s, including "Saturday Night Live." And he has since appeared in a number of motion pictures.

But he is best known for the TV role he originated in 2009 on the hit AMC drama "Breaking Bad" as Saul Goodman, the shrewd, sharp-witted criminal defence lawyer for that show`s protagonist - high school teacher-turned-methamphetamine chemist Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston.

Odenkirk's character proved so popular that producers created a spin-off series, 'Better Call Saul,' which traces the transformation of Odenkirk`s character from a onetime two-bit scam artist and struggling public defender named Jimmy McGill into the sleazy criminal attorney Saul Goodman.

Amanda Knox, the American woman who was tried and acquitted of murder in Italy more than a decade ago, has hit out at a Hollywood movie that she said seeks to profit off her name without her consent.

Knox, who spent four years in jail in Perugia, Italy, before being acquitted of the 2007 murder of her roommate, expressed her frustration as 'Stillwater' opened in US movie theatres this week.

Director Tom McCarthy has said the Amanda Knox case inspired the film about an American oil rig worker who travels to France to help his daughter who is in prison for a murder she says she didn`t commit.

"Does my name belong to me? My face? What about my life? My story? Why does my name refer to events I had no hand in? I return to these questions because others continue to profit off my name, face, & story without my consent. Most recently, the film #STILLWATER," Knox wrote in a lengthy post on her Twitter account on Thursday.

The Stillwater filmmakers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Knox, now 34 and working as a criminal justice activist, said that the movie "reinforces an image of me as a guilty and untrustworthy person."
"I have not been allowed to return to the relative anonymity I had before Perugia," Knox said. "My only option is to sit idly by while others continue to distort my character, or fight to restore my good reputation that was wrongfully destroyed."

She invited McCarthy and Damon to hear her point of view by appearing on her "Labyrinths" podcast, which deals with issues ranging from justice to her personal life.

As per the Variety, ''Season 5 will tackle the early 1990s, including, it is thought, the Queen’s so-called “annus horribilis” in 1992, during which three of her four children separated from or divorced their partners — including Prince Charles and Diana — and the family was dogged by numerous scandals, such as the revelation of Charles’s affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles and the publication of Prince Andrew’s wife Sarah Ferguson sunbathing topless with a male friend.''

It will also include Princess Diana’s bombshell BBC Panorama interview.

Speaking to the BBC about playing the Queen, Oscar-nominated Staunton said, “I think my sort of extra challenge, as if I needed it, is that I’m now doing the Queen that we’re a little more familiar with. With Claire Foy, it was almost history and now I’m playing one that people could say ‘she doesn’t do that,’ ‘she’s not like that,’ and that’s my personal bête noire,” she explained.

In addition to Staunton, the new season will see Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, and Dominic West as Prince Charles. Jonny Lee Miller will play John Major, who served as Britain’s prime minister in 1990-97.

As per the Variety, ''Season 5 will tackle the early 1990s, including, it is thought, the Queen’s so-called “annus horribilis” in 1992, during which three of her four children separated from or divorced their partners — including Prince Charles and Diana — and the family was dogged by numerous scandals, such as the revelation of Charles’s affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles and the publication of Prince Andrew’s wife Sarah Ferguson sunbathing topless with a male friend.'' It will also include Princess Diana’s bombshell BBC Panorama interview.

Hollywood actor Dev Patel, who is gearing up for his big release ‘The Green Knight’, may have awards and global recognition now but there was a time—especially at the beginning of his career in 2007-8—when he was grappling with looks-related insecurities.

Talking about his debut project ‘Skins’—where he played the character Anwar—the BAFTA-winning actor told a global newspaper that constant talks and listicles on his ‘ugly’ looks had taken a toll on him and that it was all too ‘brutal’.

“There were all these lists of who's the favorite character on the show or who was the best-looking character, and I was always the ugliest, the least attractive. No one liked Anwar. It really took a toll on me personally… That kind of speaks to my natural low self-esteem,” he was quoted as saying.

As far as his character in ‘The Green Knight’ goes, Patel has drawn inspiration from his own life to essay the role of Sir Gawain. “Whether you're an Instagram model or a YouTuber, there's this thirst to be recognized, to have your legend spoken about, to get the likes," he said. "And for me as a young actor in Hollywood, you're dealing with issues of masculinity, ego, success and fame. That's the same quest this young man goes on to be a known knight. All of that, I related to,” the ‘Lion’ actor reportedly said.
