Ever dream you had Spidey Sense so that it would tingle when danger is lurking just around the corner? Well it appears nature has already given you one and you take it for granted. It appears you can literally smell the danger.

No, we are not talking about the smell of the wasted food your partner so lovingly cooked for you. It's about real dangers.

A study has dwelled into the sense of smell and has found that the bundle of nerves connected internally to our nose takes just milliseconds to send message to our brain to do something if something smells fishy.

The research was carried out by Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

The study was done by observing two groups of non-smoking people. The first group had 19 persons who were asked to smell perfume of linalool or fruity-smelling ethyl butyrate. They were also made to smell diethyl disulfide which has a garlicky smell.

The brainwaves of these people were observed. Two types of brain waves were observed.

One was gamma waves. These are fast processing waves which we rely on for attention and memory. The second type is beta waves. These waves are generated when we make decisions with deliberation.

The second group had 21 volunteers. They were made to smell pleasant and not-so-pleasant odours as well. Their physical reactions were timed.

It was found that gamma and beta waves were 'coupling' to co-ordinate a response.

If the smell was unpleasant, in other words, deemed to be a threat, a message was sent to motor cortex of our brain within 150 milliseconds to take an action. This may then involve reactions like jerking the head away from the smell, momentarily stopping to inhale and other reactions.

A manicure salon in Malaysia is selling painted and press-on nail designs based on the television show Squid Game, the latest small business to cash in on the soaring popularity of the South Korean series. The Maniqure Nail Salon on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur has designed a set of nails for each of the show`s nine episodes. Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae reacts to rumours of a season 2: I have to play him again Red Light, Green Light features the killer giant animatronic doll from the first episode, while 'Hell' includes a picture of the red-suited game officials and a pink-ribboned coffin. "Is it difficult to draw? Yes a little bit because ... it`s all 100% hand painting, not printing," said Salon co-owner Lim Pei Xin. "Every fine line we have to stop breathing."
British songstress Adele made her highly-anticipated music comeback on Friday, releasing her first new record since her 2015 Grammy award-winning album '25'.

The 33-year-old, known for her ballads about break-ups and regrets, had teased the new single 'Easy On Me' last week with a short video clip. The song is the first to be released from her upcoming fourth album '30', out in November.

The music video, which starts with Adele leaving a house with 'For Sale' and 'Sold' signs on it, is a showcase for the emotional power ballad about recovering and learning lessons after disappointment in love. Adele sings as she drives, her memories and songsheets swirling around her, and the video breaks into warm colour after beginning in black-and-white.

On Wednesday, Adele told fans she was "finally" ready to release '30', which she described as her "ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life".

"I was certainly nowhere near where I`d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago," she said in a statement posted on Twitter.
"Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly - willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil."

In interviews with fashion magazines Vogue and British Vogue, Adele, who has named her albums after milestone ages in her life, said she had written '30' to explain her divorce to her young son, Angelo. Adele split from charity executive Simon Konecki in 2019.

"I`ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I`ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones," she said on Twitter.

Known for hits like 'Someone Like You' and 'Hello', Adele is one of the most successful singer-songwriters of all time, storming charts around the world and winning 15 Grammys as well as an Oscar for James Bond movie theme song 'Skyfall'.

Earlier this month, fans had speculated new music from Adele was imminent after mysterious '30' signs appeared on buildings around the world.
"When she releases music, not only does it generate a lot of sales around her work, but it acts as a halo towards British music... it gets people into stores, buying online, streaming as well," said Gennaro Castaldo, spokesperson for record labels association BPI.

"It gets the media very excited ... She`s one of the few kind of global superstars that can actually achieve that sort of impact."

The Beatles are back this autumn with a new book, reworked final album and much-anticipated documentary that sheds new light on their fraught final days.

'Let It Be', released in 1970, has long been considered the legendary group's breakup album.

That is partly because it was the last album they released, and also because it was followed by a making-of documentary that showed deep tensions among the fab four.

However, it's not that simple: 'Let It Be' was actually recorded before 1969's 'Abbey Road' but sat on the shelf for a year because the band weren't satisfied with it.

A new remix of the album by Giles Martin -- son of The Beatles' usual producer George Martin -- aims to bring it closer to the band's wishes.

But speaking to NME this week, Giles Martin admitted that "Paul's main issue with what happened is that he normally had a lot of input into the arrangements, and he didn't with Spector."

Roger Stormo, the editor of The Daily Beatle, said there were definite tensions, with George Harrison storming out for several days because he felt sidelined by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

"But they were having fun at the same time as being angry," he told AFP.

"Because of the well-publicised argument between George and Paul in the original movie, people have interpreted the mood of the period as being a downer, but I never saw it that way.

"I was the first to believe in all sorts of myths like 'Paul and John hated each other, didn't speak much'. But what we see from the conversations is that they were extremely close... things were working well in early 1969," Assayas told AFP.

"Every band has arguments in the studio. It was just shocking (when the original film came out) because no one had seen them argue before," he added.

"If Paul hadn't been in the band, we'd probably have made two albums because we were lazy buggers," Starr told the BBC recently.

"But Paul's a workaholic. John and I would be sitting in the garden taking in the colour green from the tree, and the phone would ring, and we would know: 'Hey lads, you want to come in? Let's go in the studio!'"

Q- Tell us about your new movie 'Rashmi Rocket'?

A. I play the character of the lawyer who fights the case of Taapsee's character Rashmi Vira. It is a movie about a senior athlete who is fighting against the very old law of gender testing of a female, which probably has restricted many females athletes to achieve their goals. I find playing a lawyer on screen very dramatic. They are like superhumans who come from nowhere and fight against the system.

Q-How has life changed post the success of 'Pataal Lok'?

A. Portraying Hathoda Tyagi in 'Pataal Lok' was a gamechanger in my career. Q-Among the characters that you have played in your career, which has been your favourite?

A. It's a tough call, my favourite is Hathoda Tyagi but somewhere I love Jaana from 'Stree', so I'm attracted to both Tyagi but I love Jaana more, you know, the character was sweet.

Q- Any filmmaker whose work you admire?
New Shephard's NS-18 flight took nearly 11 minutes and once again crossed the Kármán Line, which is the internationally recognised border between the Earth and space. As the 90-year-old made history by becoming the oldest man to fly to space, he quoted Sir Isaac Newton to mark his historic achievement. "I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, diverting myself in now & then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me," his pre-scheduled tweet read. I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, diverting myself in now & then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.🚀 pic.twitter.com/ZY2Ka8ij7z — William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) October 13, 2021 × While the four astronauts were descending in the capsule, William Shatner was hard saying, "that was unlike anything they described." After a comfortable descend at 16 mph / 26 km/h, the four civilian-astronauts landed in the West Texas desert at 1 mph / 1.6 km/h. The four new astronauts were greeted by the Founder of Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos, and their friends and families. This mission marked the second successful crew launch of Blue Origin's all-civilian New Shephard rocket. The first successful all-civilian flight of Blue Origin had Jeff Bezos, Mark Bezos, Wally Funk and Oliver Daeman. Three out of four astronauts sent out messages of strength, appreciation and motivation to the second crew. "You lucky bastards. It was only 10 weeks ago I was sitting where you are watching the countdown clock full of anticipation and excitement, eager to feel the rumble of liftoff and the majesty of weightlessness. The depth of my desire to fly again is hard to express," Jeff Bezos said.

Simple, sweet, and fictionally fatal: the stallholder who makes the traditional South Korean children's treat featured in the global cultural phenomenon 'Squid Game' -- and once associated with post-war poverty -- has hit a real-life jackpot.

The Netflix smash hit series features a group of South Korea's most marginalised and deeply in debt, who compete in children's games for the chance of 45.6 billion won ($38 million), with lethal consequences.
