<p>Shah Rukh Khan attended the inaugural session of the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival along with Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Taking to the stage, Indian superstar spoke of the perils of social media.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Contrary to the belief that the spread of social media will affect cinema negatively, I believe cinema has an even more important role to play now…Cinema exposes the vulnerability of human nature by telling stories in their simplest form as they are lived,” he added.</p>

<p>This statement comes at a time when Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’ has become the butt of memes and jokes. Trolls have said derogatory things about the songs that have been released ahead of the film’s premiere. The film’s lead actress Deepika Padukone has come under the fire for wearing a bikini in one of the songs from the film.&nbsp;</p>

The trio have also launched a company called Slab Ventures, which has partnered with the local arm of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world’s largest brewer, for distribution and marketing purposes.<br />

Talking about his business venture, Aryan told Mint, “We thought there was a kind of a void in the current space. And when there’s a void, there’s an opportunity, and I think businesses are all about opportunity."<br />

<p>Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is all set to return to the silver screens after a gap of 4 years with 'Pathaan', gave his first stage performance after the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday. The actor danced to some of his most popular hits at Mumbai Police's s annual cultural extravaganza, Umang, and left people gushing. A video of his performance surfaced online and is now going viral.</p>

<p>The event, held at BKC, Mumbai, saw several Bollywood and television celebrities marking their attendance. Other than SRK, many celebs performed at the event. Shehnaaz Gill grooved to 'The Punjaabban' song along with Anil Kapoor. While Rakhi Sawant did a catwalk on the stage, along with a young girl.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, the actor is seen dressed in a sharp black suit. Looking every bit handsome, he is seen&nbsp;grooving to the song 'I Am The Best' from his film 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani'. The actor danced to some of his most popular hits at Mumbai Police's s annual cultural extravaganza, Umang, and left people gushing. A video of his performance surfaced online and is now going viral. The event, held at BKC, Mumbai, saw several Bollywood and television celebrities marking their attendance. Other than SRK, many celebs performed at the event. Shehnaaz Gill grooved to 'The Punjaabban' song along with Anil Kapoor. While Rakhi Sawant did a catwalk on the stage, along with a young girl. In the video, the actor is seen dressed in a sharp black suit. Looking every bit handsome, he is seen grooving to the song 'I Am The Best' from his film 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani'. <p>Shah Rukh Khan completes 30 years in Bollywood on Saturday (June 25). He debuted with 'Deewana' in 1992. Today, his&nbsp;name no longer holds the significance as it used to. Make no mistake, he is still one of the best-known Indian actors on the planet, but he is no longer the trusty box office performer and critical darling he once was in his heyday. His last few films -- 'Zero' and 'Jab Harry Met Sejal', for instance -- have either been reviewed well by critics or commercial successes, but not both.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He does not seem to be able to hit that sweet spot between critical reception and love of audiences that was inherent in nearly every movie he used to do.</p>

<p>So what happened?</p>

<p>There are mainly two reasons, in my opinion, for the decline of the brand that Shah Rukh Khan.</p>

<p><strong>Rise of Salman Khan</strong></p>

<p>The first reason is the rise of Salman Khan, which came at the cost of SRK. The current status of Salman is said to begin with 2009's 'Wanted', in which the Bhai of Bollywood pioneered the formula that made him one of the biggest Indian stars.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Salman's hero in 'Wanted' and subsequent films was a self-assured man who could fight like a martial artist, crack jokes like a comedian, and look, well, like a movie star. In short, he was a complete package. No room for things like vulnerability or character development here.</p>

<p>SRK, on the other hand, either could not do or, and this is more likely,&nbsp;would not do it. He has excelled more at emotional vulnerability and has never been much of an action star.</p>

<p>One other reason for SRK's decline is the popularity of writing-oriented (as opposed to star power-oriented) movies and TV shows through mainly OTT platforms. Since the 'star' of most movies and TV shows on services like Netflix and ZEE5 is the content, the story, SRK has struggled to adjust. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, among others are the most sought-after actors right now. It is not that SRK's star power has disappeared or even diminished. It is very much there but does not matter as much as it used to.</p>

<p><strong>Will SRK make a comeback?</strong></p>

<p>He absolutely can. Earlier he was known mostly as a romantic hero but he challenged himself by taking up less glamorous roles like in 'Raees' and 'Zero'. <p>Announcing his third big release 'Jawan' on Friday, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan shared its official&nbsp;teaser and first look on social media. The short clip showed SRK covered in bandages against a dark backdrop. The teaser caught fans' attention and many raved about the superstar`s appearance. The bandaged look, however, reminded a few of a character played by Liam Neeson in his 1990 hit `Darkman`.</p>

<p>Several social media users even went on to say that the SRK`s movie is actually a Hindi adaptation of `Darkman`. Speculations started spiraling and discussions began on the micro-blogging site.</p>

<p>A Twitter user shared a picture of both the actors and wrote, "I personally would love to see @iamsrk in a Darkman remake."</p>

<p>Aryan Khan, 23, the son of Bollywood mega-star Shah Rukh Khan and producer Gauri Khan, admitted to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) that he started smoking Ganja (cannabis) in 2018 while studying for graduation in the US.<br />

The `voluntary statement` of Aryan, made under NDPS Act, 1985, Sec 67, before Ashish Ranjan, IO, is part of the final complaint lodged before the Special NDPS Court by the NCB on Friday (May 27), and came to light hours after the superstar-son was exonerated from the case.</p>

<p>He claimed that at that time, he was suffering from certain sleep disorders and he had read articles on the Internet informing Ganja (also known as bhaang, pot, grass, etc) could help.</p>

<p>Unaware of what lay in store for him ahead, Aryan revealed that he was friends with another co-accused Arbaaz Merchant since the past seven-eight years and even the latter smoked Ganja and Hashish.</p>

<p>At Arbaaz`s coaxing, Aryan admitted he occasionally tried smoking Hashish (Charas) but did not relish it much.</p>

<p>Aryan, along with his friends Pratik, Manav and Arbaaz had gone to the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (ICT) in his Mercedes car around 15.30 (on Oct 2, 2021) to board the Cordelia Cruise, and Arbaaz had promised to bring Hashish for that party.</p>

<p>While crossing the check-in point at the ICT, Aryan said he was intercepted by NCB`s IO Ashish Ranjan Prasad and even introduced to the then Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede as a Gazetted Officer, subjected to a personal search after explaining his rights.</p>

<p>During that physical search, no drugs were recovered from Aryan and he gave up his mobile phone when demanded by the NCB.</p>

<p>After checking some messages, the officer asked Aryan whether he knew Arbaaz Merchant, to which he said yes - and with whom he was to share a cabin in the Cordelia Cruise ship.</p>

<p>When the IO asked Aryan whether he deals with narcotic drugs, he replied that he was into consumption of only natural drugs like Ganja or Hashish.</p>

<p>Aryan also revealed that Arbaaz had taken out and handed over a small quantity of Charas to the NCB IO Ashish Ranjan Prasad, and said whatever was recovered (from Arbaaz) was for consumption only and probably procured by him from Bandra, after which the NCB team tested the Charas with some kit and sealed it in a pouch.</p>

<p>Later, the NCB team thoroughly searched all the cabins allotted to Aryan and his friends, and served with a notice to appear immediately before the NCB Mumbai Office to give his voluntary statement.</p>

<p>In the questioning, Aryan confessed to making the `incriminating WhatsApp drug chats` on his mobile phone and signed on the chats transcript.</p>

<p>The conversation with his friend Archit pertaining to a poker game and procurement of Weed from him in return for a Rs 80,000 loan which he (Archit) was unable to repay, through some supplier he knew in Powai and Bandra.</p>

<p>After all this, the stunned Aryan was arrested by NCB Mumbai Superintendent V.V. Singh on October 3, 2021, at 2 p.m. under NDPS Act, 1985, Sec 8A, 22(b), 27 and 35 - triggering one of the biggest news events of the year after the Covid-19 pandemic.</p>

<p>The bewildered Aryan was enlightened on the arrest charges through his Memo of Arrest which he countersigned as a receipt and the information was related to Shah Rukh Khan and his family members.</p>

<p>Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently revealed that he owns television sets at his home worth Rs 30-40 lakh (approximately 38,000 -51, 000 USD) at his palatial home in Mumbai.&nbsp;<br />

Khan was in New Delhi to promote the brand LG's new range of smart TVs. The actor, while interacting with the audience stated that he owned TV sets of the brand much before he became a brand ambassador for them.<br />
<br />
"I have one TV in the bedroom, I have one in the living room, I have another one in my little son AbRam's room, I have one in Aryan's room, I have one in my daughter's room. Recently, some other redundant make of television got spoilt in the gym, I only wait for the days when the old televisions get busted so I can quickly go and buy an LG," said Shah Rukh Khan.<br />

"The cost of each television is about a lakh, lakh-and-a-half. By that calculation, I've spent about ₹ 30-40 lakh on televisions. I did not get them free." &nbsp;<br />

<p>A fire broke out on the 14th floor of a high-rise opposite Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s residence in Mumbai on Monday&nbsp;evening. Khan lives in Mumbai’s Bandra area. No casualties have been reported so far.&nbsp;<br />

According to reports, the Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported.&nbsp;<br />

Police, ambulances as well as civic ward staff among others were also mobilised. The MFB declared the incident as a ‘level 2’ fire.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has found no evidence against Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, that would link him to a larger drugs conspiracy or an international drugs trafficking syndicate, an Indian newspaper reported citing sources.<br />

Sources close to the case told Hindustan Times that Aryan Khan was never in possession of drugs and therefore taking his phone and checking chats was not needed as was done by the NCB's Mumbai unit.<br />

Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchant were arrested by the NCB in relation to a drugs raid case by the NCB in October 2021. The two youngsters were reportedly arrested while they were on their way to a cruise liner for a private party where raids had been conducted by the NCB. Aryan and Arbaaz were then sent to judicial custody and remained in jail for 28 days before they were released on bail.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The HT report states that Aryan's chats on phone did not suggest that he was a part of any international syndicate. The raid was also not video-recorded as mandated by the NCB manual and the drugs recovered from multiple accused arrested in the case were allegedly shown as single recovery.<br />
<br />
The SIT is yet to submit its final report to the NCB Director General SN Pradhan. A legal opinion will be taken before the final decision is taken and announced especially with regards to Aryan on whether he would be charged for consumption of drugs even though he was not carrying any at the time of his arrest.<br />

The SIT's finding though raises questions about the said raid which was led by the agency's former Mumbai Zonal Unit director Sameer Wankhede.</p>

<p>Wankhede, who has since been repatriated to his parent cadre, has been questioned multiple times – both by the SIT and the agency’s vigilance team -- to get to the truth in the case.<br />
