After the completion of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Indian cricket team will embark on a new journey to Australia with a full-fledged series awaiting Virat Kohli and Co Down Under. There are plenty of talks surrounding the quarantine protocols in Australia, whether the players will be allowed to train during the self-isolation phase, among other pointers.

According to a report, the Indian team will start practising for the series in Australia as soon as they test negative for COVID-19 after arriving on November 12. By all means, the Men in Blue should commence their training from November 13.

"The team reaches Australia on November 12 morning and after that, they will undergo corona tests and the moment they have negative reports, they are eligible to train so you can expect the boys to start training from November 13 onwards," sources privy to the development told ANI.

AUS vs IND: Team India to start training in Sydney from November 10

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is all set to come to a conclusion on November 10, with the final scheduled to be played in Dubai. While there were many high-octane matches, it took all 56 league matches to determine the final four teams of the IPL 2020 for the playoffs. With league stage successfully done and dusted, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar picked his best IPL 2020 XI.

However, there were some big-names missing from Manjrekar’s IPL 2020 XI.

IPL 2020 is being held completely outside India, in the UAE, amid the COVID-19 pandemic with the entire tournament being staged behind closed doors.

There have been many great performances in IPL 2020 be it the cracking form of young Devdutt Padikkal or Suryakumar Yadav’s scintillating form with the bat. The bowlers, too, have impressed in the lucrative tournament as they made the most out of the longer boundaries in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Reviewing the entire IPL 2020, Manjrekar kept the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma out of his IPL 2020 XI, largely due to the fact that the Indian duo has blown hot and cold throughout the IPL 2020.

In a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, Manjrekar went with KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal as his opening pair while opting Suryakumar Yadav over Kohli for the number three spot.

“My No. 3 is Suryakumar Yadav, which is great for someone like him to have made it to this IPL XI. He bats at No. 3 and I don’t think any No. 3 has batted as well and as consistently as he’s done. It’s not just about runs and consistency but also about the quality of shots as well that he’s played,” Manjrekar told ESPNcricinfo backing Suryakumar's inclusion.

Continuing his IPL 2020 XI, Manjrekar picked AB de Villiers, Nicholas Pooran, Axar Patel with Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal being his automatic pics for the XI.

However, with the final of IPL 2020, scheduled on November 10, to be played in Dubai, the persistent shower could leave an impact on the playing conditions should the rainfall continue till Tuesday. The Dubai pitch is expected to soak on the moisture which could ultimately assist the pacers early on the in the match. But it is too early to predict anything when it comes to the final of IPL 2020. There are even question marks on whether there is any reserve day for IPL 2020 final.

Meanwhile, the first task for both DC and SRH on Sunday would be to win the match and book their berth in the final of IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians.

The UK government on Sunday relented anew to a vocal campaign by Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, promising to give free meals to poorer children over the coronavirus-afflicted Christmas holidays and beyond.

After one U-turn already for the summer holidays, the government has dropped its opposition to extending the scheme over the festive period, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson called Rashford on Saturday to brief him on his new spending commitment.

The 23-year-old striker received the call after he played in Manchester United's 3-1 Premier League win over Everton.

In a statement, Rashford said "I had a good conversation with the prime minister to better understand the proposed plan, and I very much welcome the steps that have been taken to combat child food poverty in the UK".

The footballer, who grew up impoverished himself, said he was "so proud" of those who had united behind his campaign on social media, promising to "fight for the rest of my life" to end child hunger in Britain.

In recognition of his widely praised campaign, Rashford was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in Queen Elizabeth II's latest honours list last month, and he sports the title proudly on his Twitter feed.

The economic fallout from the virus outbreak is pushing more British families into poverty, leaving many unable to afford essentials such as food and heating.

Poorer children are guaranteed free meals during school term-time, but not in the holidays. The government had resisted giving out meal vouchers to tide their families over, preferring to offer support via its wider benefits system.

But Rashford's campaign has struck a chord with many, especially with Christmas coming up, and the government has been confronted with regular headlines accusing it of being heartless.

New funds of £170 million ($225 million) will pay for a winter grant scheme to support families over Christmas, and will be extended to cover the Easter, summer and Christmas breaks in 2021, Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey announced.

"We want to make sure vulnerable people feel cared for throughout this difficult time and, above all, no one should go hungry or be unable to pay their bills this winter," she said.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has said that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is all set to be played in the months of April and May with India hosting the lucrative T20 tournament. The ongoing edition of IPL (2020) was shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is being held behind closed doors but the BCCI president has now confirmed that the 14th edition of IPL will be back in India.

There were plenty of speculations surrounding IPL 2021 and many suggested that it could be held once again in the UAE due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in India. However, Ganguly has quashed the reports saying that India will host IPL 2021. The BCCI president further said that India will also host England in 2021 while additionally hosting the Ranji Trophy – India’s premium domestic tournament – in the country.

“Yeah, absolutely. April, May we’ll have another one [IPL 2021 season],” Ganguly told India Today.

“We’ll be fine. We’ll be fine. ISL starting in November in Goa, we’ll be fine. The scare, that is not there anymore and the IPL has helped a lot,” Ganguly added.

The former Indian captain further lavished praise on the quality of cricket in the IPL. Without downplaying other T20 leagues in the world, Ganguly said IPL is in the different league and the craze of the fans along with the quality of cricket take the T20 tournament to a whole different level.

Continuing the limited-overs series, Pakistan are set to take on Zimbabwe in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Pakistan have a 1-0 lead in the T20I series after winning the ODI series 2-1.

Zimbabwe’s tour of Pakistan has produced a couple of nail-biting matches including a Super Over and the second T20I between Pakistan and Zimbabwe promises another thrilling contest in Rawalpindi.

While Zimbabwe have put up competitive performances against Pakistan, the Men in Green have been mostly dominating with the likes of Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi shining with the bat and ball respectively. Young Mohammad Hasnain also produced some magic with the ball as he had picked up a five-fer in the ODI series.

Rafael Nadal said he had enjoyed a "positive tournament" at the Paris Masters as he gears up for his latest tilt at a first ATP Tour Finals triumph, despite losing to Alexander Zverev on Saturday.

The top seed slumped to a 6-4, 7-5 loss to Zverev in the semi-finals at Bercy Arena, but said his run this week would help him at the season-ending event in London, which starts on November 15.

"It has been a positive tournament for me. Of course not happy about the loss, but that's part of the game," said Nadal, who has also never won the Paris Masters.

"I spent hours on court. Of course I wanted to win the tournament, but it's always difficult.

"But I had the right attitude during the whole event, I think, fighting in every match.

"That gave me the chance to play four matches that I think will be helpful for London. I need to adjust a couple of things, but I am doing well on all the important things."

The Spaniard, playing for the first time since winning a record-extending 13th French Open title across Paris at Roland Garros last month, was never at his best on the indoor hard courts.

He claimed his 1,000th career win with a comeback victory over Feliciano Lopez in the second round and also had to fight back from a set down to beat Pablo Carreno Busta in the quarter-finals.

Nadal has only won one of his 86 ATP titles on indoor hard courts and that success came in Madrid over 15 years ago.

"I need to find a better feeling with the backhand on this surface, because when I hit the ball sometimes I feel that I can miss it," he admitted.

"To compete at this highest level, sometimes it's a little bit tougher."

Nadal 'positive' ahead of ATP Finals despite Zverev loss

Robert Lewandowski scored his 11th goal in just his sixth Bundesliga game this season as Bayern Munich went top of the table on Saturday with a 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund.

"In the end, we deserved the win and such victories are doubly important for us," said midfielder Leon Goretzka as Bayern saw off their rivals.

After Marco Reus had put Dortmund ahead, David Alaba blasted home a free-kick to make it 1-1 at half-time behind closed doors at Signal Iduna Park.

Lewandowski gave Bayern the lead with a superb header early in the second half before Leroy Sane grabbed the visitors' third.

Erling Braut Haaland gave Dortmund hope with a late goal, but was left to regret earlier misses.

"I have to score more goals, if we don't put our chances away at this level, then we won't win," said Haaland, who converted one of four shots on goal.

"They are the best team in the world and we have to work harder to take the next step to be as good as them".

The 32-year-old Lewandowski could have finished with a hat-trick against his former club after also having two goals disallowed by the VAR.

The win leaves Bayern two points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig with Dortmund third, three points behind Munich.

- Kimmich injury -

The away win could have come at a cost, however, as Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich had to be helped off in clear distress with a first-half knee injury.

"I think his knee got overstretched, it didn't look good," admitted Goretzka.

After the hosts made a bright start with Haaland firing wide, Lewandowski's effort on 24 minutes was ruled out by the VAR who spotted the Poland star offside in the build up.

Dortmund took the lead on 45 minutes when centre-half Mats Hummels sent a superb pass down the left flank for Jadon Sancho.

The England winger played Raphael Guerreiro into the area to provide the final pass which Reus fired home.

However, Bayern levelled four minutes later.

After Dortmund's midfield enforcer Thomas Delaney brought down Serge Gnarby on the edge of the area, Alaba blasted home a superb free-kick to make it 1-1 at the break.

Haaland fired wide at the start of the second half, just before Lewandowski powered home his header from a pin-point Lucas Herandez cross to put Bayern 2-1 up on 48 minutes.

Bayern had their tails up and Kingsley Coman's shot crashed off the post soon after.

Sane looked to have put the game beyond Dortmund when he cut inside, beat two defenders and fired home ten minutes from time.

However, Haaland fired home from a tight angle to give Dortmund hope while Reus volleyed wide with the goal at his mercy.

Lewandowski had the ball in the Dortmund net once more just before the whistle, only to again be denied by the VAR.

- Leipzig down Freiburg -

Earlier, RB Leipzig were impressive in their 3-0 home win over Freiburg.

Defender Ibrahima Konate fired home Leipzig's opener before midfielder Marcel Sabitzer added their second goal with a 70th-minute penalty.

Manchester City loanee Angelino claimed the third with a stunning free-kick which curled over the Freiburg wall just before the final whistle.

"We really deserved the win - we were very, very good in the first-half," said Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Union Berlin climbed to fourth with a 5-0 home thrashing of strugglers Arminia Bielefeld.

Former Germany striker Max Kruse helped set up Union's first three goals, then converted a late penalty.

Bottom side Mainz were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Schalke, who sit one place above them and have now gone 23 games without a league win dating back to January.

After five games without a win, Hertha Berlin roared back with a 3-0 victory in the fog at Augsburg.

Forwards Matheus Cunha, Dodi Lukebakio and Krzysztof Piatek, who cost Hertha 24 million euros ($28 million) from AC Milan in January, got on the scoresheet.

Lewandowski strikes as Bayern Munich down Dortmund to go top

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer described the scheduling of Manchester United's match against Everton on Saturday as an "absolute joke" as Chelsea pummelled Sheffield United 4-1 to climb to third in the Premier League.

United eased the pressure on their under-fire manager with a 3-1 win in the early kick-off at Goodison Park but the Norwegian vented his fury at league chiefs after picking up fresh injuries.

Crystal Palace beat Leeds 4-1 to make it three defeats in four for Marcelo Bielsa's men before Frank Lampard's Chelsea came from behind thump Sheffield United by the same scoreline.

The main focus on Saturday was on whether United could bounce back after successive defeats, which raised fresh doubts over Solskjaer's position at the club.

United only returned from their embarrassing Champions League loss against Istanbul Basaksehir in the early hours of Thursday yet had to kick off at Goodison Park at 12:30 pm on Saturday.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice and new signing Edinson Cavani opened his account as United came from behind to beat the early-season pacesetters.

But Solskjaer blamed the quick turnaround for injuries to Luke Shaw (hamstring), Victor Lindelof (back) and Marcus Rashford (shoulder).

"How can you expect players to perform to the best of their ability when you send them out at 12:30? Absolute joke," he said.

"Our players were set up to fail today with the schedule," he added. "I pushed my club to really fight the kick-off time on this one to give us at least half a chance but it was quashed."

United, who started the match a lowly 15th in the table, showed grit and style as they recovered from going behind to a Bernard goal in the 19th minute.

Fernandes was the standout player for the 20-times champions, thriving in a creative midfield role in the absence of the benched Paul Pogba.

The Portuguese powered a header from a Luke Shaw cross past a flailing Jordan Pickford and scored again when an intended cross for Rashford was missed by the England international and the ball crept in off the far post.

Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Cavani made the points safe with a goal deep into stoppage time.

The victory at the home of Carlo Ancelotti's team was United's seventh straight Premier League away win -- in sharp contrast to their woeful home form.

Everton, who topped the Premier League table earlier this season, have now suffered three consecutive league defeats.

- Chelsea romp -

Chelsea have hit their stride after their expensive summer rebuild and are now just one point behind Southampton and Liverpool, who play Manchester City on Sunday.

Lampard's team, now unbeaten in six Premier League matches, went behind early at Stamford Bridge when David McGoldrick's neat flick put Sheffield United in front.

But they hit back quickly, with England forward Tammy Abraham slotting home from Mateo Kovacic's cutback, and Ben Chilwell put Chelsea in front just past the half-hour.

Brazilian veteran Thiago Silva bagged his first Chelsea goal to put the Blues 3-1 up before Timo Werner blasted past Aaron Ramsdale to put the home side in total control.

"We are third," a delighted Lampard told Sky Sports. "The players are the ones who deliver and deserve that first credit. They were amazing, all of them today. The balance of the team was good and it's nice to see. We must continue. I really enjoyed watching it but I know how football is."

Leeds' fine start to their first top-flight season after a 16-year absence is fading fast as they conceded four for the second time in a week at Crystal Palace.

Goals from Scott Dann and Eberechi Eze gave Palace a 2-0 lead before Patrick Bamford pulled one back. But an own goal from Leeds winger Helder Costa restored the home side's two-goal cushion and Jordan Ayew completed the rout in the second half.

There was late drama as West Ham beat Fulham 1-0 at the London Stadium.

Tomas Soucek scored the only goal in stoppage time, but the Hammers were grateful to a shocking penalty miss from Ademola Lookman with the last kick of the game to take all three points.

Lookman tried a 'Panenka' but scuffed his shot and Lukasz Fabianski had time to get back to his feet and save.

Solskjaer fumes over 'joke' kick-off time as rampant Chelsea go third

Atletico Madrid jumped to the top of La Liga on Saturday with a 4-0 thrashing of Cadiz after Lionel Messi came on at half-time to rescue Barcelona against Real Betis.

Atletico claimed first place, ahead of Real Sociedad on goal difference, with the excellent Joao Felix scoring twice in another impressive victory for Diego Simeone's side.

Luis Suarez and Marcos Llorente were also on target as Atletico made it five wins and two draws from their opening seven games and underlined their status as genuine title contenders.

They have scored 17 goals and conceded just two in that time.

After the international break, Atleti play at home to Barcelona, when Suarez and Antoine Griezmann will be up against their former clubs.

But while Suarez has enjoyed a superb start for Atletico, scoring five goals already, Griezmann continues to struggle in the shadow of Messi at Camp Nou.

Messi had been rested by Ronald Koeman but was thrown on with the game in the balance after Griezmann missed a penalty, before Betis' Antonio Sanabria cancelled out Ousmane Dembele's opener.

Within four minutes of his introduction, Messi gave Griezmann an open goal with a superb dummy and then scored twice himself, the first a penalty that saw Betis' Aissa Mandi sent off for a handball on the line.

In between, Loren Moron had given Betis brief hope but Messi's second and a late strike from Pedri ensured Barcelona ended their four-match winless run and climbed to eighth in La Liga.

Messi also gave a resounding answer to those suggesting his performances this season have been evidence of decline.

"Leo finished the match against Kiev with some problems," said Koeman. "He wasn't in a position to play in the first half but we talked about him being on the bench and said he would come on if he felt good.

"He's a player who in principle always plays, but today he didn't because of some minor problems."

Griezmann also got his goal with Messi on the pitch but was unable to prove a point without him.

- Gloomy Griezmann -

Despite a lively opening half an hour, Griezmann missed a penalty before Messi scored his and Griezmann was eventually substituted, pictured sat in the stands with a gloomy expression while Barca romped to victory.

"I hope he continues to work like he is working," said Koeman. "To miss opportunities you have to be there. We must highlight his character, to keep working. He knows perfectly well that he has missed a penalty, and some chances, but it means he is always there to score."

Barca broke through after 22 minutes when Dembele cut inside onto his left foot before hammering a finish past Claudio Bravo for his first league goal in 13 months.

Mandi conceded a penalty after sliding in on Ansu but Griezmann missed, a tame shot easily saved by Bravo, before Betis scored, Sanabria finishing after Cristian Tello had again surged clear down the left.

Messi came on and four minutes later Barca were ahead, the Argentinian scuttling to meet Jordi Alba's cross at the front post, only to step over the ball, fooling his marker and the goalkeeper, to leave Griezmann with an open net.

Messi made it 3-1 with a penalty, won after his pass had set up Dembele for a shot that was blocked on the line by the arm of Mandi, who was sent off.

Moron gave Betis hope with 17 minutes left but Messi made sure, latching onto Sergi Roberto's flick and smashing in his second and Barca's fourth. Pedri made it five in injury-time.

Sevilla later beat Osasuna 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Lucas Ocampos, that moves them up to 11th.

It is only the second time Sevilla have managed back-to-back wins this season, after a 3-2 victory over Krasnodar on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in what was the Eliminator of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. After a terrific bowling performance by the SRH bowlers, Kane Williamson masterclass with the willow helped SRH seal a place in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2020 where they will face Delhi Capitals on Sunday.

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore opted to go with Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal as openers in the crucial match. However, the move backfired as Kohli was sent packing by Jason Holder for just one run whereas Padikkal, who has been terrific for RCB throughout the season, was dismissed for six.

Aaron Finch and AB de Villiers stuck around for a bit but it was Finch who lost his wicket first and walked back to the hut for 32 off 30. Moeen Ali ran himself out on a free-hit, a rare instance in the world of cricket, for a golden duck.

Shivam Dube (8), Washington Sundar (5) also failed to live up to the expectations with the bat in the big game. However, a handy 10-run knock by Mohammed Siraj and nine runs by Navdeep Saini helped Royal Challengers Bangalore to post 131/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing 132, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a horror start as opener Shreevats Goswami was dismissed for a duck. But it was David Warner and Manish Pandey, who stabilized the chase for SRH. Warner was given marching orders by the third umpire in what was a controversial call for caught-behind. Pandey also edged one to AB de Villiers to depart for 24.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard praised the team`s collective effort to shore up their defence but said players must guard against complacency when they host Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Lampard`s side leaked nine goals in their opening five league games but have since kept five straight clean sheets in all competitions, which included a goalless league draw at Manchester United and a 3-0 win over Stade Rennais in the Champions League.

"There`s always different parts to it," Lampard told a news conference on Friday. "Individuals have made good performances in that period. The collective is a reflection of that.

"It`s driven by the players, always will be. We must never relax. It`s such an important part of the game."

Lampard said Chelsea have found a fresh balance in the team with new signings Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech being among the goals in their last three victories.

"There`s a versatility in the way new players play," Lampard added. "We had a slight change in formation and the 4-3-3 worked well recently."

Lampard confirmed winger Christian Pulisic remains unavailable for the game at Stamford Bridge due to a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Kai Havertz is ruled out as he self-isolates after a positive COVID-19 result, while goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (shoulder) is available though the Spaniard is still feeling some pain, the manager added.

Chelsea are seventh in the league with 12 points from seven games, while Sheffield United are second-bottom after a winless start.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes he is still the right man to turn around the club’s fortunes and retains the backing of the hierarchy at Old Trafford.

United have suffered three defeats in their opening six Premier League games and another loss against Everton on Saturday would see them heading into the international break sitting just above the relegation zone.

A 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Wednesday brought Solskjaer’s position under intense scrutiny, with British media reports linking former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino with the manager’s job at United.

Solskjaer refused to comment on his future at the club but came out fighting in a news conference on Friday.<iframe data-google-container-id="9" data-is-safeframe="true" frameborder="0" height="0" id="google_ads_iframe_/4735792/in.reuters/sports/article_4" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" name="1-0-37;13390;<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no"><script>var jscVersion = 'r20201104';</script><script>var google_casm=[];</script><script></script><style>	@font-face {

“From what I’ve seen from the boys, they’ve been very focused since we’ve come back (from Istanbul) and are ready to give a response,” he added.

French forward Anthony Martial is available again for the match at Goodison Park following his domestic suspension, while Brazil full back Alex Telles has returned to training after his enforced layoff due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Solskjaer refused to comment on his future at the club but came out fighting in a news conference on Friday. “If I don’t trust my beliefs and values, my staff’s qualities and the quality of my players, who else should?” the Norwegian said. “I don’t look at one or two results and fall like a house of cards. “It’s not long ago that we were the best thing since sliced bread when we beat RB Leipzig and Paris St Germain. I don't crumble under pressure, says Man United's Solskjaer

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is unhappy that Gareth Bale's return to the Wales squad next week will be partly overseen by a coach at North London rivals Arsenal.

Wales boss Ryan Giggs is not taking charge of games against the United States, Ireland and Finland later this month after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend.

The former Manchester United star denies all allegations against him, but "mutually agreed" with the Football Association of Wales to sit out the upcoming matches.

Robert Page will take temporary charge with Albert Stuivenberg, who is also on Mikel Arteta's staff at Arsenal, acting as assistant manager.

"The fact that one of the coaches is an Arsenal coach does not make me very comfortable," said Mourinho. "National team matches should have coaches that work exclusively for them, not coaches who work for other clubs."

Bale is edging closer to full fitness after an injury-hit start to his second spell at Spurs.

He scored his first goal since returning on loan from Real Madrid in the 2-1 win against Brighton last weekend, but is yet to complete 90 minutes this season.

"It's about managing the situation and keeping him safe, because he's a player that needs to be safe, he's a player that had enough problems in the past," said Mourinho.

"He's working so much and we're all working so carefully with him that we don't want to destroy the work everybody is doing for the last couple of months."

Last month Mourinho put pressure on England manager Gareth Southgate not to play Harry Kane in a friendly against Wales.

And he repeated the call for Bale to miss the friendly against the USA to prioritise the Nations League clashes with Ireland and Finland.

"Wales has two matches where they play for the Nations League and I expect him to play," said Mourinho. "But if they care as much about him as we do, they have to manage the recovery period.

"They have to manage how many days' difference between one match and another. They have to manage the minutes that he plays and they should not let him get to fatigue levels."

Express pacer Dale Steyn was among the big-names missing from the 24-man South African squad announced on Friday for the limited-overs series against England, starting on November 27.

Steyn, who retired from Test cricket in August 2019, said he remained available for limited-overs international but was not named in the Proteas squad. Even the likes of Imran Tahir and Jannemann Malan were also missing.

The 24-man squad include most of South Africa’s current limited-overs international players with fast bowler Glenton Stuurman getting his maiden call-up.

All the matches in South Africa vs England series will be played in the Western Cape in Cape Town and Paarl and both the squads will be based in one hotel and will be confined to it due to COVID-19 protocols. Matches will be played behind closed doors.

CSA director of cricket, Graeme Smith said that much work was put behind the scenes to ensure the safe return of international cricket.
"It's been a long winter and it's really pleasing that we finally have an imminent international tour on our shores to look forward to," said Smith.

South Africa announce squad for England series; Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir left out

Former Australian captain Steve Waugh has urged his team to not sledge or get into a war of words with Virat Kohli during upcoming India’s tour of Australia while stating that it might end up giving “extra motivation” not just to the Indian skipper but also to his teammates.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is set to kick-start on December 17 at the Adelaide Oval followed by Tests at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Sydney Cricket Ground and the Gabba. India’s tour of Australia will commence with three-match ODI series on November 27 followed by as many T20Is before the Test series.

Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli: Steve Waugh

"Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli, it doesn't work against the great players and you're better off leaving those guys alone," Waugh said in a video posted by 'ESPNcricinfo'.

"I think any extra motivation will make them dig in more and get more runs. So you're better off not saying much to him."

Australian Test skipper Tim Paine and his teammates were involved in a heated war of world with Kohli during India’s last tour of Australia as the visitors ended up winning their first-ever Test series Down Under.

However, Australia were without the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner, who were serving a ban for their involvement in a ball-tampering row.

"He (Kohli) is a world-class player, he would wanna be the batsman of the series. Last time, he and Smith came up against each other in India, Smith really dominated with three hundreds and Kohli didn't get many. "That would be at the back of his mind that last time he was outscored by Steve Smith," Waugh said. "So, he will want to score a lot of runs and if he does, India will have a great chance of winning."

"He has definitely matured, he was always excitable on the field, maybe a little not in control. But now he is totally in control and he has got the team playing in his mode...," the former batsman said.

"He wants India to prove themselves away from home to justify the number one ranking. He has taken them to a level that may be they didn't get to before," he signed off.

Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli: Steve Waugh "Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli, it doesn't work against the great players and you're better off leaving those guys alone," Waugh said in a video posted by 'ESPNcricinfo'. "I think any extra motivation will make them dig in more and get more runs. So you're better off not saying much to him." However, Australia were without the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner, who were serving a ban for their involvement in a ball-tampering row. "He (Kohli) is a world-class player, he would wanna be the batsman of the series. Last time, he and Smith came up against each other in India, Smith really dominated with three hundreds and Kohli didn't get many. Mumbai Indians bowling coach and former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond lavished praise on Jasprit Bumrah following a splendid performance in the Qualifier 1 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against Delhi Capitals as the Kiwi termed Bumrah as the “best T20 fast bowler in the world”.

Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 57 runs to storm into the final of IPL 2020 and it was Bumrah who was behind MI’s stunning bowling performance. Bumrah conceded just 14 runs while picking up four wickets in his four-over quota, as the current Purple Cap holder continued his tremendous run with the ball.

"Jasprit, it's a privilege to watch. The best T20 fast bowler in the world go about his work," Bond said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians on Twitter.

Bond also praised Trent Boult saying that "I've loved working with Trent since 2012. We've seen him at his very best and I was very excited to have him in our team. Because I know what a devastating bowler he can be and he has done that through this tournament for us."

Before the heroics with the ball, MI batters put on a show as they posted 200 runs on the board courtesy terrific knocks by Suryakumar Yadav, Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya.

Delhi Capitals never got the chase going as Boult and Bumrah did the damage upfront to restrict them to 0/3 in the second over. After that, it was just DC saving their blushes.

If they'd had a little bit more luck or perhaps been a little bit more accurate, we would have been under pressure at the back end."

Reflecting on his performance, Suryakumar Yadav said: "They have given me unbelievable freedom to express myself whenever I go to bat. And whatever the situation is, whether it is 10/1 or 50 or no loss. So, I just went out, expressed myself, and just played the way I play."

Almost all the major sporting events are being held behind closed doors owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. While crowds aren’t allowed anywhere inside the stadiums, players have to stay put inside bio-secure bubbles during the course of the tournament while maintaining the safety protocols and strict guidelines to curb the spread of the dreaded virus.

Opening about the bio-secure bubble and other challenges faced by the players and staff during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has said that organisers need to start thinking about the length of a tournament or series as staying inside bio-bubble for long can be mentally taxing for everyone associated with the tournament/series.

Kohli further said that the repetition of daily routine inside the bubble can become challenging after a certain time if the tournament/series goes on for a long period.

"It's repetitive, it's not as tough when the group of guys is amazing, which we have. Everyone part of that bio-bubble is really nice, the vibe has been so good this season. That's precisely why we've enjoyed playing together, just enjoyed our time in the bio-bubble as well, but it does get difficult at times because it is repetitive," Kohli told RCB.

"These things will have to be considered like what length of the tournament and series one is going to play and what impact the players are going to have mentally of staying in a similar environment for 80 days and not getting to do anything different or have space to just go and see family or small things like that. These things have to be seriously thought about. At the end of the day, you want the players to be in the best state mentally and physically. I think mentally, it can be taxing if this continues for this longer period at a very consistent rate."

Plenty of questions were raised when the Indian selection committee didn’t name Rohit Sharma for the upcoming Australia tour citing injury concerns. In what comes as shocking news in the world of football, the Italian Football Association FIGC has launched an investigation into Serie A giants Lazio over suspicion for violating health protocols related to COVID-19.

Reportedly, three players in Ciro Immobile, Thomas Strakosha and Lucas Leiva were tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus and were barred from playing in UEFA Champions League match against Club Brugge. However, the trio went onto play in a Serie A match against Torino, several days later in the Serie A. Lazio won the match 4-3 with Immobile scoring the winning goal.

The FIGC has now requested the results of the test conducted for COVID-19.

Lazio president Claudio Lolito and physician Ivo Pulcini have already been interrogated about the incident by the FIGC. According to reports, if Lazio are found guilty of breaching the COVID-19 rules or even manipulating the results of coronavirus tests then the Italian giants could face several penalties including hefty fines, points deduction or even relegation from Serie A.

Reportedly, Lazio had not informed the health authorities about Immobile testing positive for COVID-19. Immobile had tested positive on October 26 and November 2. However, two other tests carried on October 30 and 31 returned negative.

Lazio then went on to use their skipper and prolific goalscorer last Sunday in the Serie A game against Torino in the second half. Apparently, Lazio have said that striker had very low positivity from the virus from the first test.

Both Immobile and Leiva weren’t allowed to enter Russia for their UCL match against Zenit St. Petersburg.
Lazio are still awaiting results of Immobile and Leiva for their availability in Serie A match against Juventus.

ALSO READ: Cristiano Ronaldo to return for Portugal against France, Croatia Lazio president Claudio Lolito and physician Ivo Pulcini have already been interrogated about the incident by the FIGC. ALSO READ: Ole out? South African Sune Luus conjured up an unbeaten 37 under pressure as Velocity overcame a jittery start to stun defending champions Supernovas by five wickets in the opening match of the Women's T20 Challenge here on Wednesday.

Chasing a modest 127, Velocity were 38 for three inside nine overs but Luus took them over the line with her calm-headed 37-run knock that came off 21 balls with four fours and a six.

Luus also shared a crucial 51-run stand with Sushma Verma (34) to repair the innings after the early setbacks.

The Velocity bowlers, led by left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht (3/22) had restricted Supernovas to 126/8 after electing to bowl.

South African medium pacer Ayabonga Khaka (2/27) gave Supernovas the perfect start dismissing both the openers, Dani Wyatt (0) and supremely-talented Shafali Verma (17).

Shafali had lit up the modest chase smashing a hat-trick of boundaries against Khaka.

But Khaka bounced back to dismiss the talented Indian batter after she flicked one straight to deep midwicket.

Skipper Mithali Raj then fell victim to Siriwardene after a sluggish seven from 19 balls as it was left for Veda Krishnamurthy (29) and Sushma to keep them in hunt.

The seasoned Sushma turned it around for Velocity in the 16th over hammering Poonam Yadav for two sixes with some clean-hitting display to bring the run rate down.

She however failed to take them over the line falling to Poonam Yadav in the penultimate over.

Needing nine runs from the last over, Luus sealed the chase in the penultimate ball with two boundaries.

Velocity will take on Trailblazers on Thursday.

Earlier, apart from Ekta Bisht's effort, New Zealand off-spinner Leigh Kasperek (2/23) and medium pacer Jahanara Alam (2/27 also contributed in stifling the holders.

Jahanara dismissed key batters -- Harmanpreet Kaur (31) and Chamara Atapattu (44) -- to derail Supernova.

Sri Lankan T20 skipper Atapattu and her Indian counterpart Harmanpreet had seized control in the back end but their 47-run partnership was broken by Jahanara with Veda Krishnamurthy taking calm-headed skier in the long on.

Jahanara later dismissed Harmanpreet for 31 after the Indian skipper holed out at short fine leg. It triggered a collapse as the defending champions lost four wickets for 15 runs.

Chamari slammed two sixes and two boundaries in a 39-ball 44, while Harmanpreet hit two sixes and one boundary.
Velocity made some early inroads with their spinner duo of Leigh Kasperek and Ekta Bisht dismissing Priya Punia (11) and Jemimah Rodrigues (7) inside eight overs.

But Supernova took control in the back end with Chamari breaking free against Manali Dakshini.

The Sri Lankan T20 skipper hit Manali inside out over cover and in the next over pulled Kasperek over deep mid-wicket for her second six to lift the run-rate.

But Chamari fell six runs short of a half-century as Supernovas failed to shift gear afterwards.

The Indian Premier League playoffs begin Thursday in the UAE with last year's champions Mumbai as favourites and Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore among the teams looking to cause an upset.

Surprise package the Delhi Capitals, who like Bangalore are aiming for a first title, will take on the Mumbai Indians in the first qualifier on Thursday with a place in the November 10 final at stake.

The losers of that match will get another crack at qualifying on Sunday against either Kohli's Bangalore or Sunrisers Hyderabad, who clash on Friday in an eliminator.

AFP Sport looks at the strengths and weaknesses of the four teams still standing in the world's richest Twenty20 league:

- Mumbai Indians -

Rohit Sharma's four-time champions underlined their status as tournament favourites by being the first team to qualify for the playoffs as they topped the standings with nine wins in 14 games.

South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock has led the batting with 443 runs while getting key support from Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard.

Pace bowlers Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah battered the opposition with a combined 43 wickets.

The 2019 champions had already qualified top of the table before they were hammered by Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday and, despite fitness doubts over Sharma, are targeting back-to-back titles for the first time.

- Delhi Capitals -

The Ricky Ponting-coached Capitals made a sensational start, winning five of their first six games, before losing four in a row but then beating Bangalore to reach the playoffs.

India opener Shikhar Dhawan is the key batsman and this year became the first player to score two consecutive IPL centuries. But Rishabh Pant, India's new batting hope, has been misfiring.

The South African pace duo of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada have been impressive with Nortje bowling the fastest ever IPL delivery, a 97 miles per hour (156 kph) thunderbolt, and Rabada leading the IPL wicket-takers with 25 victims.

- Sunrisers Hyderabad -

Skipper David Warner came into his own with an unbeaten 85 off 58 balls to take Hyderabad into the playoffs on Tuesday.

The 2016 IPL winners benefited from the return of wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who hit two half-centuries in three successive wins to help them to third in the standings.

With West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder contributing and the deadly spin of Rashid Khan, who has taken 19 wickets, Warner will be hoping for the same result in this week's eliminator as in the 2016 final when Hyderabad beat Bangalore to lift the trophy.

- Royal Challengers Bangalore -

India captain Virat Kohli has never won an IPL title and it hurts. RCB finished bottom of the eight-team table last year, and after seven wins and seven defeats they scraped into the playoffs on run rate after losing their final match to Hyderabad.

Kohli leads a strong batting line-up, combining with young opener Devdutt Padikkal for 932 runs while South African veteran AB de Villiers has been the go-to man in crunch situations with an overall strike rate of 163.

Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar will be key with their ability to choke an opposition team's run-flow while claiming wickets. Kohli insists his team are worth their place, but said he needs them to be "more brave" when chasing runs.

IPL final four: Mumbai again, or can Kohli cause an upset?

German tennis player Alexander Zverev said on Wednesday that accusations by an ex-girlfriend that he attacked her last year were "not true".

The world number seven insisted last week in a social media post that claims made by Olga Sharypova that he tried to "strangle" her while at last year's US Open were "unfounded" and made him "very sad".

"I have said everything on my Instagram. There is nothing else I can add right now," Zverev said after his 6-2, 6-2 Paris Masters second-round win over Miomir Kecmanovic at Bercy Arena.

"I'm here. I'm here to play tennis. I mean, the relationship, as I said, has been over for a very long time.

"I'm enjoying my time on court. I have said everything. They are not true, and there is nothing more I can say right now."

Zverev has been in good form in recent weeks, winning back-to-back titles on home soil in Cologne, having also reached his maiden Grand Slam final at this year's US Open, where he lost in five sets to Dominic Thiem.

Sharypova did not initially name Zverev in her Instagram post about the alleged abuse, but later confirmed to Russian media that she was referring to her fellow 23-year-old.

Sharypova claimed also that her head was hit against a wall and that she was forced to flee a hotel barefoot.

"I'm here to play tennis," added Zverev. "I have been doing that well the last few weeks... Since the comeback of the season, and I want to continue doing that.

"There is obviously a little bit of things going on."

Zverev will face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the Paris third round on Thursday.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blasted "unforgivable" defending from his hapless side as they slumped to an embarrassing 2-1 Champions League defeat against Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday.

United, floundering in the lower reaches of the Premier League, started the game as firm favourites after an impressive win against Paris Saint-Germain and a 5-0 humbling of RB Leipzig.

But defeat in Turkey -- a first-ever Champions League group-stage win for Basaksehir -- heaps the pressure on the Norwegian boss, whose side looked short of inspiration and basic defensive nous in Istanbul.

The three-time European champions were badly exposed on the break as former Chelsea forward Demba Ba and Edin Visca gave the home team a two-goal cushion.

United gave themselves hope when they reduced the deficit shortly before half-time through an Anthony Martial header.

But despite multiple second-half changes and an array of attacking talent, Solskjaer's lacklustre team could not find a way past the organised Basaksehir defence.

The result ended Manchester United's longest away winning run in all competitions in their history -- 10 straight victories -- and was their first away defeat in 19 matches since losing in January at Liverpool in the Premier League.

Solskjaer said the performance against the hard-working Turkish side was not good enough.

"They scored two goals like you do in Europe when you do not defend well enough," he told BT Sport.

"The first one is that we play a short corner and forget about the man up top. That is unforgivable. The second one as well, we are not very well organised to counter the press."

"You don't turn up and get three points in the Champions League," he added. "They are a team well organised and we were not good enough. That is it."

- Defensive chaos -

United started the game in the comfort zone, with no sign of the defensive chaos to come in front of a small but vocal crowd.

Luke Shaw fizzed a ball past the far post with his left foot but United, with Marcus Rashford and Martial up front, lacked penetration.

The home side were ahead in the 12th minute after inexplicably poor awareness and organisation allowed unmarshalled ex-Chelsea forward Ba to collect a long ball and race from the halfway line to score, trailed helplessly by Nemanja Matic.

Axel Tuanzebe, who impressed in Paris, had a heart-stopping moment after he pulled Ba back but escaped with a yellow card.

Basaksehir remained threatening on the break, with United worryingly open at the back, and the visitors were caught napping again five minutes before half time.

Deniz Turuc robbed Juan Mata of possession down the left and raced forward, sending over a cross that Ba stepped over and Visca smashed past Dean Henderson, making his Champions League debut in place of David de Gea.

United crucially reduced the deficit in the 43rd minute when Martial steered a Shaw cross home with his head.

Solskjaer hooked off Tuanzebe at the interval, with Scott McTominay coming on and Matic dropping back to play at centre-back alongside Harry Maguire.

United once more enjoyed territorial advantage at the start of the second half and Bruno Fernandes had a free-kick pushed away.

Solskjaer threw on Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba in place of Mata and Donny van de Beek to add impetus to the attack but ponderous United struggled to create clear chances.

Mason Greenwood came on for Rashford as United continued to search for a way through.

They went agonisingly close to an equaliser in stoppage time when Alexandru Epureanu hacked off the line but they could not rescue a point in the Group H tie.

United appeared to have turned the corner after their 6-1 mauling by Tottenham last month but they have now suffered consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Basaksehir.

"They (two losses) have set us back a lot," said Solskjaer, whose team travel to Everton on Saturday. "You get a reality check every time you play a game of football."

Solskjaer laments 'unforgivable' defending as Man Utd suffer Basaksehir shock

Jose Mourinho has insisted Harry Kane did nothing wrong after the England forward was criticised for how he won a penalty in Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 win over Brighton in the Premier League last weekend.

Kane appeared to draw a foul from Adam Lallana to win the spot-kick, which he then converted to open the scoring at home to the Seagulls.

Mourinho, during his pre-match press conference ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie away to Ludogorets, was adamant any fault lay with Lallana.

"Harry Kane was in a position to control the ball and Lallana came in a reckless fashion. Why are you saying it is clever?" Mourinho said. "Clever is taking the ball and scoring a goal. It's a foul."

The experienced Portuguese boss added: "I thought it was a direct free-kick but VAR said it was inside the box because it was on the line. What are we talking about being clever?

"Harry Kane just wants to score goals. Lallana was reckless.

"Why are you speaking about us? Speak about Liverpool, Manchester United, City and others with 'clever' players and getting penalties. Don't speak about Harry Kane."

Tottenham will be without Sergio Reguilon, Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier for the trip to Bulgaria after the trio missed training on Wednesday.

"Reguilon is ill but not Covid, just ill," said Mourinho. "Lamela was having a little problem for quite a few weeks and we decided it was the time to stop.

"Aurier has a little problem, nothing important."

Lionel Messi scored as Barcelona overcame a depleted Dynamo Kiev 2-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, while Juventus eased Ferencvaros aside and Manchester United slumped to an unexpected defeat in Turkey.

Nine-man Paris Saint-Germain lost to RB Leipzig in a repeat of last season's semi-final and Chelsea proved too strong for Rennes, with Timo Werner twice converting from the penalty spot.

Making his 150th appearance in European competition, Messi dispatched an early penalty at Camp Nou after he was fouled in the area and Gerard Pique headed in Ansu Fati's cross on the hour.

Viktor Tsygankov grabbed a consolation for coronavirus-hit Dynamo as Barca, winless in four games in La Liga, recorded their third successive Group G victory to stay three points clear of Juventus.

"We are happy because we won," said Barca coach Ronald Koeman. "But we have to play better than we did today. We have to improve, above all without the ball, where we haven't played well."

Cristiano Ronaldo made his first start for the Italian champions since September after testing positive for Covid-19 in a 4-1 win at Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

However, the Portuguese star was outshone in Budapest by Alvaro Morata, whose two goals put Andrea Pirlo's team in control.

Paulo Dybala added a third before an own goal from Lasha Dvali, with Franck Boli netting for the hosts in the final minute.

United produced a shambolic first-half defensive display as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side lost 2-1 against Istanbul Basaksehir.

Demba Ba collected the ball just inside his own half and raced through to beat goalkeeper Dean Henderson on 13 minutes, with Edin Visca smashing in a second after Juan Mata was stripped of possession.

Anthony Martial's header cut the deficit before half-time but United saw their momentum in Group H halted after wins over PSG and RB Leipzig last month.

"You don't just turn up and get three points in the Champions League. We weren't good enough, that's it. It's not easy to be positive when you've lost the way we did," Solskjaer told BT Sport.

- PSG capitulate in Leipzig -

Emil Forsberg's penalty earned Leipzig a 2-1 victory as they came from behind to beat a weakened Paris Saint-Germain, dealing a major blow to the Champions League aspirations of last season's runners-up.

Angel di Maria had given PSG an early lead in Germany but he then crucially missed a penalty for the French champions, who were missing both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe due to injury and ended the contest with nine men.

Christopher Nkunku levelled before half-time for Leipzig and Forsberg converted from the spot in the 57th minute before the visitors had both Idrissa Gueye and Presnel Kimpembe sent off.

"It's difficult. It's maybe our fault because we didn't get the second goal and then made a mistake on the penalty," PSG boss Thomas Tuchel told RMC Sport.

"There was a red card, it's then hard, 10 against 11. There were too many things going against us."

Chelsea strolled to a 3-0 win at home against Rennes who saw defender Dalbert sent off after conceding two penalties in the first half.

Werner took over spot-kick duties from Jorginho and confidently tucked both away before Tammy Abraham turned in a third for the Blues on 50 minutes.

Goals from Magomed Suleymanov and Marcus Berg, the second a penalty, put Krasnodar ahead in Spain but Ivan Rakitic pulled one back for Sevilla before the break.

Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri struck twice in four second-half minutes to floor Krasnodar and leave the Russians alongside Rennes on just one point.

Erling Braut Haaland notched a brace to lead Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 win at Club Brugge and send the Germans top of Group F. Thorgan Hazard had opened the scoring in his native Belgium.

Felipe Caicedo's late equaliser earned Lazio a 1-1 draw at Zenit Saint Petersburg after Aleksandr Erokhin had struck in the first half in front of some 17,000 fans in Russia.

We have to improve, above all without the ball, where we haven't played well." Cristiano Ronaldo made his first start for the Italian champions since September after testing positive for Covid-19 in a 4-1 win at Hungarian side Ferencvaros. - PSG capitulate in Leipzig - Emil Forsberg's penalty earned Leipzig a 2-1 victory as they came from behind to beat a weakened Paris Saint-Germain, dealing a major blow to the Champions League aspirations of last season's runners-up. There were too many things going against us." Barca, Juve win in Champions League as woeful Man Utd beaten

Mumbai Indians on Thursday defeated Delhi Capitals by 57 runs at the Dubai International Stadium to storm into the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Delhi Capitals were simply outplayed by the class of Mumbai Indians as they fell short by 57 runs and will now have to play the Qualifier 2 against the winner of Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Royal Challengers Bangalore in a bid to secure a berth in the final of IPL 2020.

Power-paced Mumbai Indians batting unit lights up Dubai

Mumbai Indians’ batting scorecard might not look the best with captain Rohit Sharma scoring a golden duck and Kieron Pollard a two-ball duck. Breathtaking contributions with the willow by Quinton de Kock (40 off 25), Suryakumar Yadav (51 off 38), Ishan Kishan (55* off 30) and Hardik Pandya (37* off 14) made sure Mumbai Indians the four-time IPL winners had a mammoth total on the board.

The fact that MI batters never slowed down their run-scoring tempo despite losing two big wickets in Rohit and Pollard for cheap, shows the quality and temperament of the defending champions.

Mumbai Indians were asked to bat first by Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer with Ravichandran Ashwin taking the Delhi outfit off to a flyer as he dismissed Rohit for a golden duck. However, SKY continued his sensational run with the bat and stitched an important partnership with in-form Quinton de Kock.

Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya show

Ishan Kishan chipped in after de Kock’s departure but his best shots came later in the innings as he went hammer and tonks. Hardik Pandya showed his power-hitting prowess as he whacked five sixes in his 37-run knock of 14 deliveries where he scored his runs at a staggering strike-rate of 264.29.

Three ducks for Delhi Capitals

Chasing a massive 201, Delhi Capitals were down on their knees when Trent Boult bowled a double-wicket maiden in the very first over while dismissing Prithvi Shaw (0) and Ajinkya Rahane (0). Jasprit Bumrah, from the other end, spiced up things even more with an inch-perfect yorker to get the better of Shikhar Dhawan (0).

Skipper Shreyas Iyer departed soon, off 12, by Bumrah. While Marcus Stoinis played a gritty knock to save some blushes with a half-century (65 off 36), Rishabh Pant continued his poor run and was dismissed for 3. Axar Patel tried to chip in with some runs laced by lusty blows but it was too little too late for Delhi Capitals following a horrendous start to the chase as they ended up with 143-8 on the board. To complete Mumbai Indians' domination, the Bumrah and Boult bowled a double-wicket maiden each - shows what quality this side has.

Delhi Capitals will now have to play the Qualifier 2 against the winner of Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Royal Challengers Bangalore in a bid to secure a berth in the final of IPL 2020. The second qualifier is scheduled to be played in Abu Dhabi on November 8 (Sunday).
