In an attempt to fortify the temple town of Ayodhya housing the soon-to-be consecrated Ram Mandir, security agencies are planning to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) for surveillance, according to media reports.

The temple is expected to witness record footfall once it is opened to the public after the consecration ceremony planned for January 22.

“The pilot project of AI surveillance is likely to be launched for Ayodhya. After some time, if found feasible, it could be made an integral part of the security and surveillance drill,” a senior police official was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The AI tool could be used to detect suspicious trends within the temple premises, such as frequent visitors or any other common trend followed by unruly elements.

“The threat perception of Ram temple is high. So, we need to keep a tight vigil on all movements in Ayodhya,” the official added.

Apart from AI surveillance, 11,000 state police and paramilitary forces are likely to be deployed in the city to ensure nothing untoward happens on the day of the ceremony and afterwards.

Although the final security scheme for January 22 is yet to be finalised, the manual as well as video surveillance is already in place. The security official informed that about 38 officers of the local intelligence unit have been deployed in the red zone where Ram Mandir is located.

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, reacted to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray’s remarks that he has not been invited to the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya saying the invitations have been extended only to the “devotees of Lord Ram”.

"Invitations are only extended to those who are devotees of Lord Ram. It is totally wrong to say that the BJP is fighting in the name of Lord Ram, our PM is respected everywhere. He has done immense work under his tenure. This is not politics. This is his devotion," the chief priest of Ram Temple said.

The consecration ceremony of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir will be held over seven days, starting on January 16 according to temple officials. On the final day, January 22, after the morning puja, the deity of Ram Lalla will be consecrated in 'Mrigashira Nakshatra' in the afternoon.

The chief priest’s reaction came in response to Uddhav Thackeray’s allegations on the BJP-ruled central government that the saffron party is ‘politicising’ the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The Shiv Sena UBT chief said that the inauguration function shouldn't be politicised or centred upon a certain party.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, was also criticised by Acharya Satyendra Das for his derogatory remark that “BJP is now left to announce Lord Ram as their candidate”.

“Sanjay Raut has so much pain that even he can’t express that, they were the ones who used to fight elections in the name of Lord Ram. Those who believed in Lord Ram are in power, what nonsense is he talking about? He is insulting Lord Ram,” the priest said.

Uddhav Thackeray claims ‘no invite’ for Ram temple

In the middle of the continuing dispute over the extension of invitations for the January 22 opening ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Thackeray asserted that he was not sent an invitation. However, he said that he does not need an invitation to visit the temple and can go to Ayodhya anytime he wants.

“Ram Lalla is mine too. I can go anytime I wish. I can go now, I can go tomorrow. When I became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, I went to Ayodhya. I visited Ayodhya before that also. Yes, I have not received any invitation and I don’t need one. I just have one request that this event should not be made a political one,” Thackeray added.

On first flight to India’s temple city of Ayodhya, IndiGo captain greets passengers with ‘Jai Shree Ram’

The ongoing construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya reflects a nationwide appeal as its architectural design is influenced by both northern and southern Indian temple styles. Construction materials have been procured from diverse regions of India, such as Rajasthan, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and others.

The inauguration of the Ram temple is scheduled on January 22, and the event is anticipated to witness the presence of key dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. More than 6,000 individuals are expected to participate in the 'Pran Pratistha,' signifying the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.

The Ram Temple showcases a fusion of North and South Indian architectural influences. Diverse construction materials were meticulously selected from various states across India. The primary temple structure is crafted with the distinctive pink sandstone of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, while the intricate woodwork features premium teakwood sourced from Maharashtra's lush forests.

Granite elements incorporated in the temple construction originate from the states of Telangana and Karnataka.
The under-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya will be strong enough to withstand earthquakes or even if the Saryu river changes course.

All technical experts including IIT engineers are busy brainstorming to boost the temple construction, which is said to be 1,000 years old. Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, told IANS on Wednesday that all the homework is being done for the construction of the temple.

As Ayodhya is situated on the banks of Saryu river, when the remains of the temple were excavated, crumbly sand emerged creating a challenge for laying the foundation. Asked about this, Rai said, "This challenge has been accepted by the Indian engineers. The river has a bank and the river may change course. Earthquakes may occur in the future. Below is the crumbly sand. Taking all these things seriously, experts are preparing for strong construction."

The temple construction committee is taking all these things into account."

Rai said, "There was brainstorming of experts on this subject. It has been decided that the way a dam wall is built, that method should be adopted for the construction of the temple foundation."

"Engineers at IIT-Bombay, Delhi, Chennai, and Guwahati, experts from Larsen & Toubro and Tata are working on drawing up a strong foundation for the temple. We expect the foundation to be built in the next 2-3 days. The map will also be ready."

The Ram temple will be constructed with stones. The height of each floor will be 20 feet, length 360 feet and width 235 feet. The construction work is under the supervision of Nripendra Mishra, former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The under-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya will be strong enough to withstand earthquakes or even if the Saryu river changes course. All technical experts including IIT engineers are busy brainstorming to boost the temple construction, which is said to be 1,000 years old.

'Ram temple to be built to withstand quakes, even if Saryu changes course'

The Uttar Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons for fraudulently transferring rupees six lakh from the bank account of the Ram Mandir Trust through two fake cheques and attempting to transfer around Rs 10 lakh with a third cheque that was timely detected as counterfeit by the bank.

A case has been registered at the Kotwali police station on a complaint filed by the Trust's secretary and VHP leader Champat Rai, a senior police official said.

"We have seized the account in which the fund has been transferred. A police team has been sent to Lucknow and another team to Bombay as the account in which the money has been transferred is of Maharashtra," Ayodhya DIG Deepak Kumar told PTI.

He said those behind the crime have withdrawn rupees four lakh from the fraudulently transferred amount while rupees two lakh is still in their account.

Rupees 2.5 lakhs was fraudulently transferred from the Trust's account in State Bank of India (SBI) on September 1 and rupees 3.5 lakh on September 8 through a second fake cheque, the FIR said.

The issue came to light after a senior official of the SBI in Lucknow called Rai to confirm if the Trust had issued a cheque for transfer of Rs 9.86 lakh.

"We give phone calls to all our customers before clearing cheques (with large amounts). I myself called the customer regarding the clearing of cheque for Rs 9 lakhs 86 thousand and the customer (Rai) received the phone after many repeated calls," Mona Rastogi, deputy manager of the clearing department of SBI, told PTI.

She said it was certain that bank officials had called on the Trust's registered phone number to confirm payments for the first two "fake" cheques of Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh each before clearing the payments earlier this month.

"Definitely the bank had called the customer before clearing the cheques of Rs 2.5 lakhs and Rs 3.5 lakh. The call records and details are being checked to ascertain if the customer had received the calls," she said.

Rastogi said had Rai not taken her call, the third cloned cheque would also have been cleared because it appeared as original and the signatures too raised no doubts. "The cheques are cleared if the norms are followed and the signatures are found to be correct," she said.

In his complaint filed with the police, Rai stated that the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has crores of rupees in its bank account and it was earlier unaware that the funds were fraudulently transferred from the account.
