In the last match against Delhi, Kohli and AB de Villiers established a 118-run partnership to help Bangalore register their fourth win in this year's IPL.

We are going to go out there play fearless cricket," Kohli said.

"Nobody gave us a chance a week back and after the win in the last game, we have some momentum. We will try and not look too ahead of ourselves," he concluded.

IPL 2018: Bangalore bowl out Punjab for paltry 88

Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl against &nbspPunjab, at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, on Monday.&nbsp

Speaking after the toss, Kohli said, "No brainer. We will have a bowl first. It is a very difficult ground to defend here. They are also one mystery bowler short and that gives us an advantage to start off anyway. "

"The wicket is pretty hard and there is a nice grass covering, it will be a very tough ground to defend on. Look in every team it would be very tough for all six batsmen to perform in every game, there would be two or three stand out performances throughout the tournament."

In the last match against Delhi, Kohli and AB de Villiers established a 118-run partnership to help Bangalore register their fourth win in this year's IPL.

"Me and AB have tried to take that responsibility but there have been contributions from others as well. KL and Gayle have played well for them. Those guys also get to face the most number of balls as well, so we have to take that into consideration as well. We are playing with the same team. We are going to go out there play fearless cricket," Kohli said.

"Nobody gave us a chance a week back and after the win in the last game, we have some momentum. We will try and not look too ahead of ourselves," he concluded.

When asked Ashwin about Punjab's strategy today, he said, "Obviously, it is a ground where it is very difficult to defend. So, we would have bowled first. But then we chose to bowl first in the last game and our fate was very different. I mean the T20 format is very unforgiving. Having said that, this ground is very small as well. There are no excuses."

Kohli-led side brought their campaign back on track after they defeated Delhi by five wickets with both AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli smashing a half-century each.

The two established a 118-run partnership to help the team recover from the early loses as both openers fell cheaply.

Both the teams are overly dependent on their batting with Kohli and De Villiers holding the fort for the Bangalore while Punjab outfit looks up to KL Rahul and Chris Gayle for a great score.&nbsp

Despite blowing 'hot and cold' throughout the season, skipper kohli is team's top scorer by a distance with 466 runs from 11 games.

De Villiers has made 358 runs so far and is just 108 runs behind his skipper.

For Punjab, Rahul has been in a different league with five half-centuries and a strike-rate of 162 plus and an average of nearly 60.&nbsp

Rahul will be desperate to get some support from Gayle, who has gone quiet after the initial carnage.&nbsp

However, it is the bowling which has let both the teams down on many occasions.

Punjab Police has arrested two men who were armed and operationalised by foreign-based Khalistani handlers to carry out targeted killings in the state, an official said.

The accused were here to carry out killings as part of a nefarious design to radicalise and use youths to create a communal divide to further their separatist Khalistani agenda, a state police spokesperson said Thursday.

"The motorcycle-borne men, identified as Sandeep Singh and Amar Singh, have alleged links with the terror modules busted in connection with the spate of targeted killings in the state earlier," the spokesperson said in a release.

He claimed that they were in touch with Australia-based Gurjant Singh, who has been charged by the NIA in the October 2017 murder case of Ravinder Gosain of the RSS in Ludhiana.

The highly radicalised accused were nabbed Thursday from the Faridkot-Kotkapura national highway after their motorcycle collided with a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle. They were found to be carrying arms, the police said.

"The search of the accused led to the recovery of two pistols (.30 bore) and 40 live rounds, which they revealed to have been provided by foreign-based Khalistani handlers," the spokesperson said.

On questioning, the men disclosed that they had been in touch with the handlers through social media and were assigned the task of carrying out killings.

"They further told the police that they were in regular touch with Gurjant Singh, who had come to notice first for his radicalisation activities over Facebook," he said.

According to the police spokesperson, the members of the terror module that was busted by them on May 29 last year, had formed a subgroup called 'Khalistan Zindabad', which was linked to the radical website 'International Sikh Federation', founded by Gurjant.

Gurjant was also subsequently found to be involved in financing the KLF/ISYF terrorist module that carried out eight incidents of targeted attacks/killings in Punjab between January 2016 and October 2017.

The link of these two arrested youth with other possible module members and Khalistani operatives is being investigated, said the spokesperson.

While Sandeep Singh, aged 26, is a resident of Bangi Nihal village in Bathinda while Amar Singh (48) is a resident of Haryana.

A criminal case under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Arms Act and other relevant provisions of the law has been registered against the accused.

Bottom-placed Rajasthan take on Punjab at their home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Tuesday.

On Sunday, May 6, both the team met and Rahane-led Rajasthan faced a tragic defeat by 6 wickets.

The skippers, Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane are not much experienced but both of them have a different set of ideas when it comes to leadership.

One hand, under the guidance of Ravichandran Ashwin team Punjab has become one of the top contenders for IPL 2018 trophy and Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan have failed in all the departments.

Team Punjab is just one win away from the solidifying their place in the play-offs and if Rajasthan team manages to win tonight's clash than it will spark a fight for survival in the ongoing tournament.

Punjab is riding high on confidence with openers Chris Gayle and KL Rahul and the team will be able to dominate the struggling side Rajasthan, unless, Ajinkya Rahane plans and replicate something extraordinary against Punjab.

For Rajasthan, any combination has not worked out well, the team has struggled in all the departments. D'Arcy Short has not been able to perform and Ajinkya might replace him with Heinrich Klassen. Although, any change at this moment is very risky. On the other hand, Punjab's playing XI is massive currently.

Punjab skipper R Ashwin won the toss and opted to bowl against Rajasthan at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday.

Punjab are placed fourth in the table with five wins and three losses from eight appearances and will be keen on bringing their campaign back on track.

The franchise have made an important change in their playing eleven. They have brought in Manoj Tiwary in place of veteran Yuvraj Singh.

Speaking after the toss, Ashwin said,""We will bowl first. I think this is going to be a good wicket. Better than the last game, we were expecting a high score in the last match but wicket was not that good."

"We are expecting a high scoring match today. Yuvraj misses out and Manoj comes in," he concluded.

Rajasthan, on the other hand, are also coming off two straight defeats and would also be looking to regain their lost momentum.

When asked about their strategy for today, its skipper Ajinkya Rahane said, "It's all about how we think. We are happy to bat first, the preparation has been fantastic and we are looking forward to bat first."

"We just got one change. Anureet Singh comes in for Dhawal Kulkarni. It's important for us to do well. Looks a good wicket. Every wicket is important, every run is important, every ball is important throughout the 40 overs and really looking forward to play well tonight," he added.

Rajasthan cannot afford another defeat from here as it would almost crush their dream of a play-off berth.

R Ashwin-led Punjab will look to get their campaign back on track after a couple of defeats when they lock horns with bottom-placed Rajasthan in the Indian Premier League today.

While Punjab are placed fourth in the table with five wins and three losses from eight appearances, Rajasthan are last with three victories and five defeats.

Like Punjab, Rajasthan too are coming off two straight defeats, but the red outfit is placed much better than its next opponents and is pretty much in with a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

Punjab would hope opening duo of Chris Gayle and KL Rahul get them off to a strong start again and on the other side, Jos Buttler would look to replicate his 18-ball fifty.

Punjab's batting mostly relies on opener Chris Gayle, who has accumulated 302 runs from just five games.

Even in their last encounter against Mumbai, Gayle slammed a 40-ball 50, laced with six boundaries and couple of sixes.&nbsp

In-form opener Lokesh Rahul, who faultered in the game against Mumbai, has been in good form, amassing 292 runs from eight games.&nbsp

The Punjab openers have been a major reason behind their success as the duo have handed a perfect start to their side on several occasions in this year's edition.&nbsp

Karun Nair has also been impressive after 209 runs from seven innings but veteran Yuvraj Singh, Aaron Finch and Mayank Agarwal are yet to make their presence felt in the middle-order.&nbsp

The trio's poor form could be a cause of concern for the team management and this is high time for them to come out with their best.&nbsp

In the bowling department, skipper Ravichandran Ashwin, along with medium-pacer Mohit Sharma add depth to the line-up.&nbsp

For Rajasthan, Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane have scored the bulk of the runs for the team. &nbsp

Jos Buttler and D'Arcy Short are also fresh off blazing knocks.

In the bowling department, Jofra Archer's presence will be a key factor for the franchise going up against Punjab's top-heavy batting line-up.&nbsp

Rajasthan will also be banking on their all-rounders like K Gowtham and Ben Stokes to deliver in their dual roles.

IPL 2018: Match preview of Punjab vs Rajasthan

This will be the first time when Punjab and Rajasthan will come face to face in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.&nbsp&nbsp

The Ravichandran Ashwin-led team stands at number four with five wins, while the Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan are currently placed at the last position with just three win.&nbsp &nbsp

As the two teams will lock horns today, so, let's take a look at the players expected to perform.

1. Chris Gayle - 'The Universal Boss' has proved that he still has a lot of cricket left in him as he smashed a century and three half-centuries in a total of five IPL games he has played so far for Punjab. Also, he is the second player to hit most sixes, 23, so far. In his last game, he scored 40-ball-50 which included six fours and two sixes. Today the 'Gayle storm' is expected to bring spread his charisma to help his team get back to the winning momentum.&nbsp

2. Jos Buttler - The Rajasthan opener returned to his form in his last game against Delhi. He slammed 67 runs off just 26 balls which included huge seven sixes. Though the team failed to defeat Delhi, still his previous inning definitely makes him a player to watch out for.&nbsp

3. KL Rahul - He is among the top run scorers in IPL so far. But still, he has a long way to go to achieve the orange cap. Today is the day when this opening batsman can score well to make his team win and jump up to top three, as they currently stand at number four. In six games Rahul has scored 292 runs with 60 being his highest.&nbsp

4. D'Arcy Short - The Rajasthan opener scored 25-ball-44 including two fours and four sixes against Delhi. His great innings went in vain as the team couldn't turn in into a win. Today, he'll step down on the ground to lift his team from the bottom in the league table.&nbsp

5. Jaydev Unadkant - So far his performance in IPL has not been at par. But in his previous game, he managed to take three crucial wickets of Delhi. Purchased at a whopping price of Rs 11.5 crore, it is important for him to stand to his billing. His attack and length is good but needs to play with a different technique today to swing wickets in his team's favour.&nbsp

So overall, Punjab, which has an upper hand over Rajasthan, will fight to reach the top three, while Royals will be prepared to defeat the Kings coming their way.&nbsp &nbsp

As the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) reached its mid-way mark, some teams are in a commanding position while some are hanging around the play-off spots and some are almost out of the tournament.

MS Dhoni-led Chennai, Williamson-led Hyderabad and Ashwin-led Punjab acquire the top three positions, while Karthik-led Kolkata, Rahane-led Rajasthan and Virat Kohli-led Bengaluru are aiming to make it to the play-off.

Delhi, which yesterday defeated Rajasthan to move two places up to acquire 6th spot, are still in a bit of a worry. Mumbai on the other hand, lost its sixth match, out of eight played, to Bangalore.

They will have to win all their matches to keep their hopes alive.

But, the teams which are stable for now in the cash-rich tournament, are celebrating their position off the field during the breaks between the matches and during all the travelling.

While some star players prefer to beat the heat in their own way.

The Kolkata players were involved in recovery sessions by the pool as they look to spoil Chennai's party and move into the double figures on the points table. So far, Kolkata have won four and lost four matches each in IPL 2018.

The players involve Chris Gayle, Karun Nair and other star players

IPL: Chris Gayle takes time-off in Kerala

Delhi and Punjab are all set to lock their horns for the second time in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL). While Punjab ranks second in the IPL Standings, Delhi is last after facing four defeats out of five matches played so far. Delhi will be playing at their home ground and are expected to come out strong against Punjab to seal today's game.

So, let us take a look at the players to watch out for in today's big clash.

1. Chris Gayle - 'The Universal Boss' Chris Gayle has proved that he still has a lot of cricket left in him as he smashed a century and two half-centuries in a total of three games he has played so far in IPL 2018 for Punjab. As he did not play the previous match against Delhi, so it will be interesting to see if he will succeed in giving us next century or will return to the stadium at a paltry score.

2. Yuvraj Singh - His poor form has been a serious cause of concern for Punjab. Being picked up at his base price of Rs 2 crore, he has not contributed much so far this season. Being one of the most experienced batsmen when it comes to the Firoz Shah Kotla ground, it will important to see him score high runs for his team in today's game.

3. Gautam Gambhir - This season he was welcomed back to his home team. But despite his great captaincy skills, Delhi hasn't performed well so far. Today, Gambhir will play at their home ground and is expected to give a tough fight to Punjab bowlers.

4. Risabh Pant - Pant slammed 85 runs off 48 balls against Bangalore. His innings included six fours and seven sixes. He is capable of hitting big strokes and can be a dependent player during crucial times. His experience and ability to deplete against any bowling attack makes him a player to watch out for in today's game.

5. R Ashwin - Ashwin got his big break this season when he was picked up by Punjab for 7.6 crores and was handed over the captaincy role. The veteran spinner proved his worth by putting Punjab at the 2nd position in the league table. But, if we talk about his individual performance then he has been good with the bat but not with the ball. In five matches played so far, he took only five wickets. So it will be interesting to see him swinging wickets in Punjab's favour as he has a good knowledge of the Kotla ground.

IPL 2018: Players to watch out for in Delhi vs Punjab clash

Delhi and Punjab will be facing each other for the second time in this year's IPL and Gautam Gambhir will be in no mood to let R Ashwin-led side to win the second game against them.

Their previous encounter was won by Punjab by 6 wickets. But, today's game will be a lot more different than the previous one as Punjab has Chris Gayle on board.

The Jamaican cricketer has been in terrific form and smashed one century and two half-centuries in a total of three games he has played.

The inclusion of Chris Gayle has turned out to be a masterstroke, with the left-hander already among the top run-getters this season.

KL Rahul too has an amazing record against Delhi. He slammed fastest ever IPL fifty in their previous encounter and is expected to play an innings of that sort today also.

Ashwin's captaincy has been a breath of fresh air, while the performances of the likes of Lokesh Rahul, Mujeeb Zadran and Karun Nair have given their camp plenty to cheer about.

As the match will be played in Delhi, Yuvraj Singh is expected to come out of his poor form and score well for his team.

Delhi, on the other hand, was defeated by Bangalore after AB de Villiers smashed a 39-ball 90 to seal the match.

In batting, Shreyas Iyer and Rishab pant made half-centuries each to save their team from early losses and help them set a decent target.

Gautam Gambhir will surely be the player to watch out for in today's game.

The bowling line is in good form but have a find a way to stop Gayle storm.

So overall, Delhi is expected to come out strong against Punjab in today's encounter at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi
