<p>Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon put Australia in the driving seat of the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday to leave Pakistan tottering at 194-6, still 124 runs behind on day two.</p>

<p>At stumps, Mohammad Rizwan was on 29 and Aamer Jamal not out on two after Cummins took the crucial wickets of Abdullah Shafique (62) and Babar Azam (one), then Agha Salman (five).</p>

<p>Lyon chipped in by removing Imam-ul-Haq (10) and Shan Masood (54), while Josh Hazlewood bowled Saud Shakeel for nine as Pakistan's dream of a first Test win in Australia since 1995 faded.</p>

<p>"We really support Uzzy. He's standing up for what he believes and I think he's done it really respectfully," Cummins told reporters on the eve of the Test in Melbourne.</p>

<p>"As I said last week, 'All lives are equal', I don't think that's very offensive and I'd say the same about the dove.</p>

<p>"That's Uzzy. I think he can really hold his head high with the way he's gone about it.</p>

<p>"But obviously there's rules in place and I believe the ICC have said they're not going to approve that. They make up the rules and you've got to accept it."</p>

<p>Khawaja wore a black armband during the Perth Test and was reprimanded by the ICC, but insisted it was for a "personal bereavement" and not politically-motivated.</p>

<p>Last week, he spoke about how the Israel-Hamas conflict had affected him.</p>

<p>"When I'm looking at my Instagram and seeing innocent kids, videos of them dying, passing away, that's what hit me the hardest," he said.</p>

<p>Nearly 10 days after Australia scripted history by beating India in the ODI World Cup final, captain Pat Cummins has revealed the underlying motivation that guided his team to upstage India on the ultimate stage.&nbsp;</p>

Head and Labuschagne stitched a match-winning partnership of 192 runs for the fourth wicket that saw the Aussies home and win their sixth World Cup. Head’s 137-run knock consisted of 15 fours and 4 sixes while Labuschagne’s innings consisted of 4 fours as they took the onus from a difficult position.</p>

<p>Glenn Maxwell’s (unbeaten 2) arrival with Labuschagne saw the end of the contest as they got the better of India in their own backyard. Earlier, they&nbsp;lost David Warner (7), Mitchell Marsh (15), and Steven Smith (4) but recovered well to win the match.</p>
