<p>According to news agency PTI, PCB is currently seeking tournament hosting fees, which comes around to $250,000 despite only hosting four games during the tournament.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The additional money is for expenses incurred on renting chartered flights for teams between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and other extra expenses like additional hotel and transport fees, which were not included in the initial budget for the Asia Cup.”</p>

<p>A total of four chartered flights were arranged during the tournament as PCB roped in a Sri Lankan firm named Classic Travel, for a sum of $281,000.</p>

<p>However, ACC has made it clear that it will not pay PCB anything more than the hosting right fee and shares from ticketing and sponsorships - triggering a sharp response from the Pakistani board.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While addressing the nation upon getting picked as the new chief selector, Wahab, in a video recording uploaded on PCB’s official handles, said,&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The [PCB's] decision to involve former players in cricketing matters is commendable, and I am willing to work for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Heading a selection committee is a challenging task. We have a significant Australia tour coming up that is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle and a T20I series against New Zealand that will allow us to develop a formidable unit leading up to the ICC T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies in June next year,” Wahab said in a board statement.</p>

<p>Misbah urged Pakistan not to get complacent after winning a few matches and should concentrate on improving regularly. The batting great added playing good teams in such tournaments would only benefit Pakistan as it would provide a clear picture.</p>

<p>“When the Team is winning, and doing well then why are you pointing out? You need consistent improvement, even if you are winning.</p>

<p>“We should point out the areas, where we can work. Playing against good teams, in good tournaments can give you a better picture. Those who will talk about it, the entire system will be against you,” Mishab added.</p>

Shaheen completed his 10-over spell with dismal figures of 10-0-90-0 as New Zealand posted a mammoth 401-run total.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 23-year-old was carted to all parts of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru where Pakistan captain Babar Azam opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Notably, Shaheen's worst day in the cricket field came immediately after the match against Bangladesh where he became the fastest pacer to&nbsp;rack up 100 wickets, eclipsing Australia's Mitchell Starc.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shaheen wrested the record for the most expensive spell from Haris Rauf who had finished with figures of&nbsp;10-0-85-1, moments before the left-arm seamer's over. The previous record was held by Hasan Ali who conceded 84 runs while picking one wicket against Virat Kohli's India, back in the 2019 World Cup at Old Trafford in Manchester.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shaheen was ineffective in the powerplay overs, where he usually picks the bulk of his wickets. New Zealand openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra were off the blocks in fine fashion and never allowed Shaheen to get in rhythm. As Shaheen struggled, the entire Pakistan bowling lineup had a stinker, allowing Ravindra to score his third century of the World Cup.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Babar's decision to blame for Shaheen's record?</strong></h2>

<p>In hindsight, Babar's decision at the toss proved to be a terrible one as the flat nature of the pitch meant that Pakistan bowlers got little to no assistance. It didn't help Pakistan's cause that the team opted to go into the contest with four pace bowlers while New Zealand took a diametrically opposite approach by fielding as many as four spinners.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pakistan need to win this match to stay in contention for the top-4 spot. A defeat would mean a return ticket to home while a win would ensure that the team lives to fight another day.</p>

<p>Asked whether&nbsp;Pakistan players not featuring in the IPL -- since 2009 due to both the nations' strained political relations -- has been a disadvantage, Arthur was quick to agree but said he is not&nbsp;making&nbsp;any excuses.</p>

<p>"No excuse, but it has been. And the interesting thing has been that every ground we've been to has been a new venue for our players, which is exciting. The players have really embraced that and they've enjoyed that fact because they've watched IPL on TV and they've seen test matches at iconic grounds like Eden Gardens, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai. So, for them to play it, it's been really exciting for them," Arthur said.</p>

<p>He also opened up on Babar Azam-led Men in Green's ordinary run in the World Cup, where they have won three and lost four games.</p>

<p>"Every game we go into, we want to win. And I'll be brutally honest, I don't think we've played to our full potential this tournament yet. I thought the Bangladesh game is the first game where we actually put a complete game together. We batted beautifully, bowled beautifully, and fielded beautifully, which in all the other games, we've done one or two disciplines OK, but our other disciplines let us down," the South African mentioned.</p>

<p>"So, I'd like to say we're peaking, but the preparation of the guys and the attitude of the guys' will to get better every day, that has been exceptional. So, I can't fault anybody in terms of that. But we found our best game against Bangladesh and I just hope that's not too late for us," Arthur&nbsp;added.</p>

<p>Pakistan need to win their remaining two games and also hope for other results to go in their favour if they are to enter the semi-finals.</p>
