But a seven-year-old boy has surprised the world by not just dreaming of becoming a famous designer but becoming one. The plot twist: his dreams are inspired by his past life, he says.</p>

<p>Max Alexander, a first-grader claims he was the renowned fashion designer Gucci in his past life, and his dreams in this one are inspired by his work and passion in his previous birth.</p>

<p>The little boy who started designing and creating clothes when he was only four years old told People magazine that "I actually was,&nbsp;Gucci." The magazine reports that these words were said,&nbsp;"with confidence".</p>

<p>"He was very serious. No laughing. I was like, 'Okay, I've never seen you interested in fashion. What are you talking about?' He said, 'That's because I don't have a mannequin. If you get me a mannequin, I'll show you. I'm a dressmaker.'"</p>

<p>Sherri who works as a cardboard artist made Max his first mannequin out of cardboard. Now, Max has several professional ones and buyers for his designs include celebrities like Sharon Stone.<br />

<p>Max's drive for the designs, as per his mother, is the desire to help women feel beautiful.</p>

<p>"He wants women to feel beautiful and that's the drive behind it," she told People magazine adding, "He's never expressed any interest in wearing the dresses himself. He doesn't make men's wear. He really wants women of all sizes to feel beautiful."</p>

<p>To date, Max has sold more than a hundred of his designs internationally and has even held his fashion shows. As per his mother, he hopes to one day "be the head of the house of Gucci or he wants to have his own atelier, Couture to the Max Italian."</p>

She did a degree in systems and industrial engineering with a specialisation in mathematics from the Technological University of Mexico. <p>What's more, last year the University of Arizona even offered the future space explorer a scholarship to study astrophysics. However, due to visa complications, she had to defer.</p>

Autistic 11-year-old girl beats IQ scores of Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking

<p>Microsoft has now expanded public access to its generative artificial intelligence programmes and the AI-enhanced features are now available for anyone to use without a waitlist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a blog post published on Thursday, Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Microsoft, announced that the features of the company's Bing search engine and Edge internet browser are now open for anyone to use.</p>

<p>"This means that it will now be easier than ever for everyone to try the new Bing and Edge by simply signing into Bing with your Microsoft account," he said.</p>

<p>According to him,&nbsp;the services have been enhanced with the ability to work with images as well as texts. In the future, Microsoft intends to add video features to the mix.</p>

<p>The executive said that a Bing "Image Creator" was recently integrated into Microsoft's AI chatbot's repertoire, which enables it to generate visual, as well as written content.&nbsp; Additionally, the company will be expanding Image Creator's capabilities so that users can use their native languages.</p>

<p>"We are expanding Image Creator to all languages in Bing," said Mehdi, adding, "So, now, you can create images in your native language."</p>

<p>Over 1,000 people, including billionaire Elon Musk and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, were among the signatories of the open letter prompted by generative AI technology from Microsoft-backed firm OpenAI.&nbsp;The letter claimed that "AI systems with human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity."</p>

In a blog post published on Thursday, Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Microsoft, announced that the features of the company's Bing search engine and Edge internet browser are now open for anyone to use. "This means that it will now be easier than ever for everyone to try the new Bing and Edge by simply signing into Bing with your Microsoft account," he said. According to him, the services have been enhanced with the ability to work with images as well as texts. In the future, Microsoft intends to add video features to the mix. The executive said that a Bing "Image Creator" was recently integrated into Microsoft's AI chatbot's repertoire, which enables it to generate visual, as well as written content. Additionally, the company will be expanding Image Creator's capabilities so that users can use their native languages. "We are expanding Image Creator to all languages in Bing," said Mehdi, adding, "So, now, you can create images in your native language." <p>According to CNN, the minimum wage in Hong Kong was frozen in 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the city's economy. Authorities at the time argued that a wage increase would put additional pressure on enterprises and could lead to the loss of low-wage jobs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vivek Murthy, the United States surgeon general on Tuesday (May 2nd) released an advisory on loneliness and isolation, silent killers that are affecting thousands of people in the country.</p>

<p>He urged the people as well as public officials to treat the matter with the same urgency that is given to other serious conditions like drug abuse.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Murthy, loneliness is affecting about half the people living in the US.</p>

<p>"Right now, millions of people are telling us through their stories and statistics that their tank is running on empty when it comes to social connection," he said, adding that it needs to be a public health priority.</p>

<p>In his advisory, Murthy says that while the issue has been there for decades, the pandemic has brought it to the forefront.&nbsp;The bomb has been ticking since the 1970s; people's attachment to their local community is on a decline.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Research produced by Gallup, Pew Research Centre, and the National Opinion Research Center’s General Social Survey demonstrates that since the 1970s, religious preference, affiliation, and participation among US adults have declined," says the advisory.</p>

<p>It further cites polls from the 1970s wherein 45 per cent of Americans said they can trust their fellow countrymen, by 2016, this number fell to 30 per cent.</p>

<p>Additionally, "individuals from ethnic and racial minority groups, LGBTQ+ individuals, rural residents, victims of domestic violence, and those who experience discrimination or marginalisation."</p>

<p>As per Murthy's advisory, "young&nbsp;adults are almost twice as likely to report feeling lonely than those over 65." Between 1976 and 2019, the rate of loneliness among young adults has increased every year.</p>

<p>One reason behind this influx in isolation and loneliness could be people's growing dependence on technology.</p>

<p>Americans on average spend six hours a day on digital media, and one in three said they are online "almost constantly."</p>

<p>The lack of connection, according to the Guardian report quoting the Kaiser Family Foundation, contributes to an increase in hospital visits and dementia. It also adds to a vicious cycle of anxiety and depression that one-third of US adults reported experiencing.</p>

<p>"Many of us felt lonely or isolated in a way we had never experienced before," Murthy's advisory says that while social connection had been declining for decades before COVID-19 but the pandemic exacerbated it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The advisory points to the importance of social connection and that, as per recent estimates synthesised from 148 studies, suggests that it increases the odds of survival by 50 per cent.</p>

<p>It further suggests that being around people, especially loved ones, also motivates one to take care of themselves.</p>

<p>Mark Zuckerberg, famous for building arguably the most famous social media platform Facebook and the Metaverse, is now "building" dresses. Recently, the tech mogul took to Instagram to share pictures of 3D-printed dresses he made for his daughter.</p>

<p>The Facebook CEO posted pictures of his daughter wearing the 3D printed clothes with the caption, "I love building things and recently started designing and 3D printing dresses with the girls. A few projects from the last month."</p>

<p>Clothes made through 3D printing are not a new concept. As per Sculpteo, "the link between fashion and 3D printing is quite strong and amazing."</p>

<p>A few years back, in 2018, American designer Julia Daviy, the co-founder and CEO of Imageneria, introduced to the world not one or two designs but a whole collection of 3D-printed clothes. Contrary to what you might imagine, her clothes have been described as pieces that "can be worn with nonchalant ease."</p>

<p>In 2019, another American designer, Travis Fitch, also unveiled a collection of 3D-printed clothes.</p>

<p>Adidas too has launched shoes made using this technology. The company's Futurecraft 4D project creates shoes with a midsole created in partnership with Carbon 3D. These shoe midsoles are made using recycled plastic found in the ocean.</p>

<p>Not only this 3D printed jewellery is also a thing. According to Sculpteo, the technology is actually more sustainable than textiles as it "only need to use the amount of material that is needed to create your project."</p>

<p>Another day, another "peegate". A passenger aboard an American Airlines flight has been detained for allegedly urinating on his co-passenger. The man, as per reports, was inebriated and had gotten into an argument with a co-passenger. The incident happened on a New York to Delhi nonstop flight on Sunday evening.</p>

<p>The man was handed over to Delhi local police on April 23 for his "disruptive" behaviour.</p>

<p>"An allegedly inebriated passenger relieved himself on another passenger. American Airlines has recorded the statements of co-passengers and handed over the passenger to law enforcement agencies. An FIR has been lodged," said a senior DGCA official as per a TOI report.</p>

<p>While the airline in its complaint to the local police and aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) alleged that a drunken passenger had urinated over a co-traveller, the Delhi Police said that statements from co-passengers failed to substantiate the allegations.</p>

<p>"The staff did not share who the accused urinated over or where did he do so in the aircraft. Passengers sitting near him also submitted in writing that they were not urinated over," said a senior Delhi police officer, as reported by the Hindu.</p>

<p>In a press statement, American Airlines said that a passenger was handed over to law enforcement following a "disruption on board". Citing an anonymous DGCA official, the Hindu also reported that the airline will be holding a further investigation into the matter as per internal procedures.</p>

Drunken man on American Airlines flight gets into argument with fellow passenger, proceeds to urinate on him

<p>On Friday, beachgoers in Hollywood, Miami were met with an unusual, yet 'exciting,'&nbsp;sight as a waterspout moved from the water and crashed onto the beach. The waterspout's movement from two miles offshore and onto the beach's sand was captured by CBS. The video of the incident has captured the interest of more than 28,000 people on Twitter alone.</p>

<p>As it moved towards the shore, it sent tourists and locals scurrying, seeking shelter from the natural phenomenon.</p>

<p>Talking to CBS, a couple who were&nbsp;visiting Miami from Oregon said that they witnessed the funnel start to form and come down. Molly Hansbrough, the wife, said that "it was very exciting, especially when you saw it crashing into the water."</p>

<p>Rob Kavalauskas, another person to witness the weather event, captured it. "I was riding my bike, I pulled over and started recording," he told CBS. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The waterspout touched down on the coast before it dissipated.</p>

The incident happened on international flight AI 915 from Dubai to Delhi on February 27th. As per an HT report, the pilot not only mistreated the cabin crew but also endangered the passengers with his actions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>India's aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is currently investigating the complaint filed by a member of the cabin crew.</p>

<p>The pilot allegedly wanted the cabin crew to make sure that the cockpit, a.k.a., the control centre for the aeroplane, appeared welcoming to his guest.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then the pilot against whom the complaint has been filed made demands for a seat upgrade for his friend and when that wasn't available asked for her to be seated in the cockpit. The guest was eventually seated in the first observer seat, which goes against&nbsp;DGCA safety norms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to DGCA's Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR): "An employee of the aircraft operator, who has the permission of the pilot-in-command (PIC) and whose duties are such that his/ her entry into the cockpit is necessary for the safe operation of the aircraft can only be allowed in the cockpit provided they have done the mandatory BA tests."</p>

<p>Talking to Global Times, an eyewitness claimed that the doorway of the enclosure where the lion's act was being performed was not securely closed, which led to the animals escaping.</p>

<p>User comments on the outage tracking website claim that the outage is global. However, Amazon is yet to issue a statement on the outage or its scale.</p>

<p>Alexa users have flooded Twitter with posts about the intelligent personal assistant's outage, with many using the hashtag #AlexaDown.</p>

Turns out there's science behind this. A new study has revealed the science behind earworms and has even come up with a way you can kick them out of your head.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Guardian reports that the research by Professor Emery Schubert of the University of New South Wales Arts and Media School found that earworms creep into our brains while we're relaxed, or rather when our brains are in a "low-attentional state."</p>

<p>Shubert describes this as the state which is "sometimes referred to as mind wandering."</p>

<p>"In other words, if you’re deeply engaged with the environment you are in, really concentrating on a task, then you won’t get an earworm," he explains.</p>

The feature which will be launching next week will allow for the possibility of text-to-video generation. The new ability will be launched as part of GPT-4, a new "more powerful and versatile" update of GPT 3.5, which as per tech website Stuff is ChatGPT's large language model. The update was announced by Andreas Braun, Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft Germany, at the 'AI in Focus — Digital Kickoff' held on March 4. Microsoft is the largest investor in OpenAI, the company behind the popular Chatbot.</p>

<p>As per reports, the model is expected to be multimodal, i.e., it will include capabilities beyond just text, and will include images and videos.</p>

<p>Reportedly, the town will not be called 'Elonland', 'Muskville' or even be named after the billionaire. Rather, it will be named 'Snailbrook'&nbsp;after The Boring Company's mascot —&nbsp;Gary the Snail.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Streets in the town will have names like 'Boring Boulevard',&nbsp;'Waterjet Way' and 'Cutterhead Crossing'.&nbsp;These names have reportedly been approved by Bastrop County officials in county meetings.</p>

<p>Snailbrook as per the WSJ report will be situated around 35 miles from Austin, in Bastrop County.</p>

<p>Over the last four years, Elon Musk's companies have purchased 3,500 acres&nbsp;in the Austin area. This is equal to&nbsp;land four times the size of New York's massive Central Park. This figure is based on county deeds and other land records.</p>

<p>Citing local real-estate and land officials, WSJ says that the size of the land the Twitter CEO owns might actually be more — as much as 6,000 acres.</p>

<h2><strong>Why would Musk's employees leave their houses and move there?</strong></h2>

<p>The housing in Snailbrook will be available to Elon Musk's employees at reduced rents.</p>

<p>Starting last year, Boring employees could apply for cheaper homes with rents starting from just $800 a month for two or three-bedroom houses. This is around three times cheaper than the current market rate.</p>

<p>Currently, the average rent in Bastrop, Texas, as per real-estate listing company Zillow Group Inc stands at around $2,200 a month.</p>

<h2><strong>What about the employees' families?</strong></h2>

<p>They will, of course, be permitted to reside in Snailbrook. As per the WSJ report, the Boring Company even plans to convert a home on the property into a Montessori school for as many as 15 students.</p>

<h2><strong>What do we know about its design?</strong></h2>

<p>Given the businessman's flair for innovation, it for sure won't be just some boring town. Work at the site has already begun, and it will house modular homes, a pool and an outdoor sports area so the employees can stay fit.</p>

<p>Reportedly, Musk, his former girlfriend Grimes and Kanye West a.k.a Ye last year had several discussions over what the town might look like.</p>

<h2><strong>So, when do they move in?</strong></h2>

<p>Most probably as soon as the construction is done.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The billionaire may even have plans to have the town incorporated. But, before Musk can apply for incorporation or charter from the state, Snailbrook will need at least 201 residents and a county judge's approval.</p>

<p>Bastrop County, as per its spokesperson, is yet to receive an application from Musk or any of his entities.</p>

<p>Once Snailbrook gets incorporated, it will legally be allowed to have its own elected officials, and make its own rules.</p>

<h2><strong>Why did Elon Musk choose Texas?</strong></h2>

<p>Before Texas, California was Musk's home. However, the billionaire left his longtime home some two years back. His companies, Tesla and The Boring Company, also had their headquarters moved from California to Texas.</p>

<p>This, as per a 2021 statement by the Tesla CEO, is because California is the land of "overregulation, overlitigation, overtaxation".</p>

<h2><strong>Will the billionaire live in Snailbrook?</strong></h2>

<p>Yes, the report citing 'people familiar with the plans' claims that the plans for Snailbrook include a project to build a private residential compound for Musk.</p>

<p>However, this private compound won't be located within the rest of the employee housing. It'll be at some distance from the planned town.</p>

<p>Texas, as per WSJ, has "fewer zoning laws and environmental and labour requirements, and has vast swaths of loosely regulated land".&nbsp;Additionally, Texas does not impose corporate income tax or income or capital gains taxes on individuals.</p>

<p>Even as the plans and construction for Snailbrook town progress at breakneck speed, residents of the area aren't too happy. David Barrow, who runs a farm in Bastrop, is worried the new projects could threaten the Colorado River's water quality.</p>

<p>His worries may be justified. Recently, the Boring Company applied for a permit from Texas state environmental authorities. This permit seeks to discharge up to 140,000 gallons of industrial wastewater a day into the Colorado River.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I would like to know what is actually being sprayed, what they’re actually building, and who is going to hold them accountable," says the farmer.</p>

<p>Adena Lewis, the county’s director of tourism and economic development, however, says she has no concerns that the company's development could harm the river or surrounding farmland. Despite this, after being approached by the county's farmers, State Senator Sarah Eckhardt requested a public environmental hearing.</p>

<p>"We’re going to need to have more of a conversation and be able to verify the assertions that these companies are making with regard to the discharge permit into the Colorado River," she said. The hearing is scheduled for this month.</p>

<p>A temple in the southern Indian state of Kerala has taken a revolutionary step by introducing a robot elephant to do religious rituals. This move towards holding religious events in a "cruelty-free manner" comes after years of concerns by animal activists. As per a BBC report, the mechanical robot has been donated to the Irinjadappilly Sree Krishna Temple in Thrissur district by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India and actress Parvathy Thiruvothu. The robot, which is made of an iron frame, is 11 feet tall and weighs 800 kg. The initiative is reportedly part of a pledge to stop using live animals for festivities.</p>

<p>Animal welfare organisations have for years flagged the "cruel" treatment temple animals face. Just last week, the Centre for Research on Animal Rights wrote to Kerala's chief minister regarding the increasing mortality of captive elephants in the state.&nbsp;</p>

As per a BBC report, the mechanical robot has been donated to the Irinjadappilly Sree Krishna Temple in Thrissur district by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India and actress Parvathy Thiruvothu. The robot, which is made of an iron frame, is 11 feet tall and weighs 800 kg. The initiative is reportedly part of a pledge to stop using live animals for festivities. Animal welfare organisations have for years flagged the "cruel" treatment temple animals face. Just last week, the Centre for Research on Animal Rights wrote to Kerala's chief minister regarding the increasing mortality of captive elephants in the state. The letter alleged that between 2018 and 2023, the mortality of the large mammal increased significantly, with over 138 captive elephants dying over the period of five years. The Chinese rover has been in "hibernation" for months. It was supposed to wake up back in December of last year. However, almost two months later, its slumber still continues. Last month, a report expressed hope that Zhurong would come out of its sleep, but recent images from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter show that it hasn't changed its position for five months.</p>

<p>As per NASA, the rover hasn't moved since September 2022. The space agency's office at the University of Arizona which manages the HiRISE camera released a series of images, which show that Zhurong has not changed its position between September 8, 2022 and February 7,&nbsp;2023.</p>

<p>As per Jia Yang, Tianwen 1 mission deputy chief designer, the rover would wake up when two conditions are met: it can generate energy greater than 140 watts and the planet’s temperature, or rather the region where the rover is, reaches the somewhat warmer, 5 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 15 degrees Celsius).</p>

Even if it never wakes up, the rover has already achieved significant things; it successfully completed one year of operations, for which it was also presented with the International Astronautical Federation's annual space achievement award in September 2022.</p>
