SEC said Sung Mo 'Jay' Jun, a former Netflix software engineer, was at the 'centre of the insider trading ring' and accessed key information about Netflix’s subscriber growth to pass on the information to his brother, Joon Mo Jun, and his friend, Junwoo Chon, ahead of the streaming company’s quarterly earnings from 2016 to 2019.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the complaint, Chon paid Jun $60,000 in cash for his assistance between 2016 to 2017.</p>

The report also states that after Jun left Netflix in February of 2017, he continued to receive insider information from Ayden Lee, another software engineer at Netflix, all the way through 2019, which he used to inform his own trading and informed about the samer to his brother and friend, according to the SEC.&nbsp;</p>

Sung Mo Jun, Joon Mo Jun, Chon and Jae Hyeon Bae, another Netflix employee who rejoined the company after Jun had left, also used a group messaging platofrm to share insider information and trading tips, and Bae had instructed Joon Mo Jun to sell shares of Netflix ahead of the company’s 2019 earnings report, the SEC reportedly said.</p>

"In total, Sung Mo Jun, Joon Jun, and Chon netted over $3.1 million in illicit profits from trading Netflix securities based on material, non-public information provided by Netflix insiders," the complaint said.</p>

The SEC charges come along with another criminal case in Seattle, where the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington filed a criminal information against Sung Mo Jun, Joon Mo Jun, Chon and Lee.</p>

Netflix has just released the first four episodes of its hit bromance, coming-of-age comedy 'Grace and Frankie' finale season. "We've missed you, but more importantly, you've missed us... To be released globally on Netflix on August 6th, Navarasa, a Tamil series, was made to financially support the film industry workers (daily-wagers) who were affected by the pandemic lockdowns. According to those associated with the project, the profits from this magnum opus would not only support film workers, but also the singers who perform stage film music.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The name Navarasa is derived from the Indian concept of nine emotions, each of which will be represented by a stand-alone episode, each of which will be helmed by one director. The stories would be woven around the nine emotions - anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder. Priyadarshan, Arvind Swami, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthick Naren, Bejoy Nambiar are among the directors who have contributed to this anthology. The project features an ensemble cast that includes Suriya, Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Vijay Sethupathi, Siddharth, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Revathi, Delhi Ganesh, and a plethora of other artists. The directors and cast spoke at a virtual launch event, on Thursday.</p>

<p>The Project was created by veteran and legend Mani Ratnam in collaboration with Jayendra Panchapakesan, who founded Qube Cinema, the film and television technology company. Speaking about their venture, Mani Ratnam said that they were really happy about the variety of talent that worked on this project. Panchapakesan added that this project started at the end of the first COVID-19 wave (late 2020) and went on well through the second wave peak of the pandemic (mid-2021). Despite the restrictions and challenges posed by the pandemic, all the artists and technicians worked tirelessly, following COVID-19 protocols to make this cinematic work a reality.</p>

He humbly added that the project was the respective directors’ baby and that he only supported and coordinated it. The concoction of it all serves this as the end product: attractive bikini-clad women, chiselled &amp; bare-chested gorgeous men, tall trees and wild bushes, mojitos &amp; margaritas, layered necklaces and sky-high heels... what’s not to love, no? Wrong!</p>

Tsuchida’s brainchild. In that sense, this one’s on him.&nbsp;</p>

Power was massively underutilised and his track, largely forgotten. For someone who plays an Australian ex-pat settling in Mauritius for a local girl and taking up odd jobs to buy a home someday... his character arch could have been (and should have been) explored beyond just a scratch-on-the-surface nod.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Leitch and Kelly McCormick will produce for 87North along with STXfilms and Smith through his Westbrook Studios. Jon Mone, Ryan Shimazaki and James Lassiter will also serve as producers.</p>

<p>Smith will next feature in Warner Bros’ biographical drama 'King Richard'. He is playing the role of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis players Venus and Serena Williams.</p>

<p>He will also star in the remake of the 1980s John Hughes classic 'Planes, Trains &amp; Automobiles'&nbsp;along with Kevin Hart.</p>

<p>Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s directorial venture ‘Ghost Stories’ has landed in troubled waters after a complaint against the four-piece anthology—which released last year on video-streaming giant Netflix—was filed.</p>

According to reports, this complaint happens to be the first to come under the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 that was framed in February this year by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.</p>

As per the new rules, streaming platforms are mandated to have a redressal mechanism to address viewers’ grievances and based on that, a complaint has been filed and received by Netflix India against an allegedly objectionable scene in Anurag Kashyap’s short film, ‘Story 2’, reports claim.</p>

<p><br />
The complaint states that in the scene where actor Sobhita Dhulipala can be seen devouring the fetus from her miscarriage is not required for the narrative and if the makers wish to retain it, then there should be a trigger warning for women who have gone through the trauma of miscarriage.</p>

<p>There is bad news for fans anticipating the release of `Blonde`, which is Netflix`s fictionalized telling of Marilyn Monroe`s life starring Ana de Armas, as the streamer has now slated the film for a 2022 release.&nbsp;<br />

According to Variety, `Blonde`, which is being directed by Andrew Dominik, who adapted the film from the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, was one of the year`s most anticipated films by industry insiders and consumers.&nbsp;<br />

<p>When strong, powerful women sashay along in Dior dresses, with hopelessly expensive wine in hand while between frank conversations about their sexually liberated selves—‘Pack my vibrator!’—you are subconsciously trained to think: ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’! But the CEO of Elite World Group, Julia Haart, one of the biggest model management companies around, is no former-socialite-turned-reality television star and didn’t know the Hiltons of Hollywood, either. In her own words, an education-less Haart was married into a fundamentalist Jewish family at a tender age, to a husband she didn’t love, and with four kids, she eventually leaves behind her then family home to make something of herself: at 43!&nbsp;</p>

Eight years later, Julia Haart becomes the CEO of a multi-subsidiary million-dollar brand. ‘My Unorthodox Life’ is a dive deep into Haart’s life circa 2020-21, with occasional rewind backs to how she shunned her past rigged with ‘too many rules’ and the journey she wishes to take with her new partner Silvio Scaglia.&nbsp;<br />
Batsheva—the eldest of four—has one foot in her orthodox community and the other, in the modern chasm her mother introduces her to. One sequence in particular encapsulates the 27 YO’s dilemma: a very well-groomed Batsheva can be seen arguing with her stringent yet affable husband Ben to let her wear pants, forbidden in their religion. The stark contrast between Haart Sr.’s world and that of Ben’s is palpable. Her mother urges her to be bold and shatter the self-imposed boundaries of her older self—and even leave her husband—Bat (as she is lovingly called) refuses both. The dust from the past is yet to settle in here, we reckon.&nbsp;</p>

Juggling Stanford homework and a plethora of romantic interests (and Momma’s ‘yes ma’am’ duties) unabashedly is Miriam’s forte. Sass sans drama seems to be this Gen Z’s aesthetic.</p>

The tug of war between the two boys—in all fairness, Shlomo slightly more contemporary than his 14 YO brother Aron—and the rest of the family to drag them out of their supposed misery is part heartbreaking and part funny. Yet, the collective love these men have for what their mother stands up for—both good and the crass—is what makes them real (by reality TV standards).</p>

Robert Brotherton’s the Chief Operating Officer of Elite and Julia’s best friend of five years. If Julia and the other women shepherd in the spices in right amount for the reality show to be a hit on Netflix (it’s already at Number 2 in Lebanon we hear), then Robert’s raunchy jokes and chirpy demeanor gives it a smooth landing. Touché!</p>

The in-depth research—adapted from a book, ‘Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots’—around the central theme and its various facets—the clothes, Yiddish language, the whole charade—took that series notches higher by sheer means of its crisp, matter-of-factly content. This series is more noise and less smell.</p>

<p>"We really see this as an extension of the core entertainment offering that we've been focused on for the last 20 years," Peters said. "We're going to try a bunch of different games through a variety of different mechanisms to see what's really working for our members."</p>

<p>Netflix executives said they would play to the strengths of shows to create interactive fantasy worlds for fans, and that they are talking with video game makers about licensing deals.</p>
