<p>The building in question is also located in front of the state government secretariat building Vallabh Bhawan. The cause of the fire remains unknown and an investigation into the incident is underway, said Neel. He added, “Furniture and documents are prima facie destroyed in the fire.”</p>

<p>Speaking about the incident, the in-charge of the local police station, RK Singh said, “A fire broke out on the third floor of Satpura Bhawan. No casualties were reported as the staff working there immediately rushed out of the office.”</p>

<p>He added, “15 fire tenders are present here at the spot to douse the fire. 50 per cent&nbsp;of the fire is under control. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained."</p>

<p>Speaking to the news agency, the Police Commissioner of Bhopal, Harinarayan Chari Mishra said that the fire “suddenly broke out on the sixth floor” and has been extinguished over a large area, and only a few areas remain. <p>As many as 296 couples tied the knot at the mass wedding organised under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana. The scheme is basically for women who come from economically weaker sections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When the controversy because of these items in the gift pack started snowballing, a senior district official Bhursingh Rawat laid the blame on the state health department.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As quoted by the Indian Express report, Rawat said that the health officials might have planned providing condoms and contraceptives to the new couples to raise awareness regarding family planning.</p>

<p>Rawat told The Indian Express: "We are not responsible for distributing condoms and contraceptive pills. There is no provision in the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah for the provision of such a kit."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We have told the local administration officials to keep a check on this in future and conduct a door-to-door campaign instead of distributing condoms at the mass weddings. This is a tribal area with a low literacy rate. People don’t have a lot of scientific temperament, so keeping that in view we will make sure this doesn’t happen again," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The news outlet quoted Dr Ashok Patel, a district family and welfare officer, as saying: "There was confusion at the event. We saw over 200 newlyweds at one place and thought we could target them. We had over 200 of our own health workers who educated them on the kit."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"But some people could not understand… there were couples who thought this was a part of dowry… It would take us over one month to track them all down and distribute these kits,” Patel added, divulging details about the 'Nai pahal' kit, which is provided to newly married couples by the local ASHA workers.</p>

With these 16 arrests, police claimed to have busted a module of the HUT.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The spokesperson said the organisation was aiming to topple the democratic system in India and was working to create its cadres in Madhya Pradesh and instigate them for violence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>An official said that the 11 arrested from Madhya Pradesh included a gym trainer, a software engineer, and a teacher. They were booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).</p>

<p>The official said that of these 11, 10 were arrested from different areas in Bhopal’s Shahjahanabad, Aishbagh, Lalghati and Pipalani areas, while one was nabbed from Chhindwara city.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following a tip-off from the MP ATS, the Telangana police arrested five people from Hyderabad for their alleged links with the outfit, he added. The official further said that anti-national documents, electronic equipment, and radical literature were recovered from the arrested.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said the suspects were under the ATS' radar for the last couple of months, adding that some objectionable literature, laptops, pen drives and hard disks were seized.</p>

<p>"The ATS was closely watching them (detainees) for the last couple of months. They were planning to create disturbance in Madhya Pradesh," Mishra added, the news agency IANS reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This crackdown comes after several people were arrested from Bhopal last year for their alleged links with the banned group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), and jihadi literature and electronic devices were seized from them.&nbsp;</p>

India: 16 arrested for links with radical outfit HUT, says Madhya Pradesh Police

<p>At least 15 people were dead and more than 20 were injured after a bus fell from a bridge in Khargone on Tuesday (May 9) in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>State Home Minister Narottam Mishra confirmed the details further adding that the emergency services with the help of local villagers are engaged in rescue operations.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The minister said that the injured have been referred to Khargone District Hospital for treatment and a magisterial lever inquiry has also been ordered into the accident.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said that the Madhya Pradesh government will provide financial assistance of Rs 400,000 each to the families of those killed in the accident and Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured. Rs 25,000 will be given to those with minor injuries. He added that the treatment of all the injured will be provided by the government</p>

India: 15 killed, more than 20 injured as bus falls from bridge in Khargone

<p>After two Cheetahs brought to India&nbsp;died within a month, raising questions over their care, the South African forest department has issued a clarifying statement. The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) stated that such carnivore reintroductions in alien climates are extremely complex and come with inherent risks. The death of two cheetahs is within the expected mortality rates for a project of this nature, it said.</p>

<p>"The cheetah joined eight of the mammals relocated to India's Kuno National Park from Namibia in September 2022. The two cheetah deaths (one from Namibia and one from South Africa) observed to date are within expected mortality rates for a project of this nature," read the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Large carnivore reintroductions are extremely complex and inherently risky operations. This is a critical phase of the project, with cheetahs being released into larger environments where there is increasingly less control over their day-to-day wellbeing," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The South African authorities stated they were awaiting an autopsy report of the death but there was no indication that the animals may have died due to any form of infectious disease or that there was any threat to their survival in India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;"All the South African cheetahs are in larger enclosures and are closely monitored twice daily. As they are wild cheetahs, their behaviour, movements, and body condition must be evaluated from a distance, limiting the ability of teams on the ground to gain precise knowledge of their health status."</p>

<p>On February 18, 12 cheetahs arrived in India aboard a C-17 Globemaster cargo plane of the Indian Air Force from Johannesburg in South Africa. Soon, the healthy cheetahs were released in the Kuno National Park, located in the&nbsp;central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.</p>

<p>However, on March 27, one of the eight Namibian cheetahs named Sasha, aged&nbsp;little more than four-and-a-half-years, died in the park. Though complete details were not released, media reports claimed that Sasha died due to cardiopulmonary failure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Last week, the second Namibian cheetah, named Uday, a male, died.&nbsp;JS Chauhan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Wildlife, revealed that "during the inspection in the morning, Uday,&nbsp;brought from South Africa was found dull with head down following which veterinarians attending him alerted senior officials and the feline was taken out from the large enclosure for treatment. Unfortunately, around 4 pm, the cheetah passed away."</p>

"Large carnivore reintroductions are extremely complex and inherently risky operations. This is a critical phase of the project, with cheetahs being released into larger environments where there is increasingly less control over their day-to-day wellbeing," it added. The South African authorities stated they were awaiting an autopsy report of the death but there was no indication that the animals may have died due to any form of infectious disease or that there was any threat to their survival in India. "All the South African cheetahs are in larger enclosures and are closely monitored twice daily. As they are wild cheetahs, their behaviour, movements, and body condition must be evaluated from a distance, limiting the ability of teams on the ground to gain precise knowledge of their health status." Soon, the healthy cheetahs were released in the Kuno National Park, located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. However, on March 27, one of the eight Namibian cheetahs named Sasha, aged little more than four-and-a-half-years, died in the park. Though complete details were not released, media reports claimed that Sasha died due to cardiopulmonary failure. Last week, the second Namibian cheetah, named Uday, a male, died. JS Chauhan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Wildlife, revealed that "during the inspection in the morning, Uday, brought from South Africa was found dull with head down following which veterinarians attending him alerted senior officials and the feline was taken out from the large enclosure for treatment. <p>"Total of 35 people died, one missing and 14 people have been rescued. Two people returned home safely after getting treatment. The search operation to trace persons reported missing is underway," Indore Collector Ilayaraja T said, as quoted by news agency ANI.</p>

<p>"The 18 hours long rescue operation started at around 12:30 on Thursday, and is still ongoing," he added.</p>

<p>The incident happened on the day of Ram Navami, an auspicious day as per the&nbsp;Hindu calendar&nbsp;when worshippers throng the temple, reported Zee News.</p>

<p>The temple is situated in Sneh Nagar, one of Indore's oldest residential neighbourhoods, and is run by a private trust. The tragedy might have been avoided had the Indore Municipal Corporation responded to local complaints, reported NDTV.</p>

<p>Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj&nbsp;on Friday (March 17) said that they have asked authorities to conduct early screening for the detection of cases of H3N2 influenza in the Indian capital. This comes after a number of states and cities across the country&nbsp;have been reporting a rise in the number of H3N2 influenza virus-related cases. Meanwhile, the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has also reported its first case of H3N2 influenza.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Delhi government issues an advisory</strong></p>

<p>The Delhi health minister while addressing a press conference also said that they are issuing an advisory to keep a check on the spread of the virus but not many cases are being reported in the national capital. He&nbsp;noted,&nbsp;while the peak of seasonal influenza is over by March, a large number of cases continue to be reported in several parts of the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian government has already issued a COVID-19 advisory for six states but Delhi is not on the list. “However, we are issuing an advisory to check the spread of influenza,” said the Delhi health minister. He also spoke about how instructions for “early screening to detect cases” have been issued to the authorities. He added, “There are not many cases in Delhi hospitals and we are closely monitoring the situation”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“People who have had severe asthma or Covid are among those impacted the most by influenza. Extra precaution is needed for those aged above 65 and children below five years of age,” said Bharadwaj, as per PTI. The Delhi health minister also said that the city government has no plans to make masks mandatory but the focus is on precautionary measures like avoiding public places, washing hands, etc.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh (MP) has detected its first case of H3N2 influenza&nbsp;where a young man aged between 20 to 25 years tested positive for the virus in the state capital Bhopal. Bhopal Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Prabhakar Tiwari told PTI, on Thursday that a resident of the Bairagarh area in Bhopal was tested on Wednesday and is asymptomatic now.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to health department officials, he complained of a cough and cold, subsequently, his swab sample was sent for a lab test. However, even after he tested positive for the virus the patient was not admitted to any hospital and is currently recovering at home, reported PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Maharashtra’s Pune reports two H3N2-related deaths</strong></p>

<p>A 73-year-old man in Maharashtra’s city of Pune passed away on Thursday in a civic-run hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial town, said local health officials. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation said that the man was suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and atrial fibrillation (an irregular and rapid heart rhythm which can contribute to blood clots) and had also tested positive for the H3N2 virus.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Another suspected casualty was a 67-year-old man who died on March 11 at a private hospital in Shivajinagar. “The patient complained of fever, cold and cough. He had pneumonitis. The deceased had comorbid conditions such as diabetes and hypertension,” said the PMC, on Wednesday.</p>

<p>“A total 352 patients are afflicted with the H3N2 virus so far. They are currently under treatment and all hospitals have been put on alert. H3N2 is not fatal. It can be cured through proper medical treatment. There is no need to panic,” said the Maharashtra Health minister Tanaji Sawant.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the state's&nbsp;Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday also held a review meeting of the health department at Mumbai’s Vidhan Bhavan to check the state’s preparedness amid reports of COVID-19 and H3N2 influenza cases. "If treated early, influenza can be cured. This should be known to everyone", said the CM and has also&nbsp;directed health officials to hold&nbsp;campaigns and make people aware of the&nbsp;viruses as well as&nbsp;ensure that they are following the necessary safety protocols</p>

The children were suffering from muscular dystrophy. The husband died by suicide along with his wife and two sons expressing he does not want to live anymore as he is not able to save the lives of his children from the genetic diasease. According to the police the couple gave poison to their children and later had it themselves too.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While speaking with ANI news agency, Vidisha DM said, "A man, Sanjeev Mishra, committed suicide along with his wife and two children in Vidisha. He posted a suicide note on social media mentioning he couldn't save his children suffering from a genetic disease, treatment for which isn't available. All four are dead."</p>

<p>The deceased were identified by the police as Sanjeev Mishra (45), his wife Neelam (42), and their sons Anmol (13) and Sarthak (7).&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to multiple reports, Mishra also left a suicide letter where he wrote, “We are facing trouble for the past five years. ...we have decided to end our lives." Additional police superintendent Sameer Yadav said that after seeing the social media post some friends rushed to their house but they found it was locked from the inside. “They tried to open the gate and informed the police about it," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Family's relatives also spoke to the police and said that the couple tried their best to get their sons treated but their condition was deteriorating.</p>

<p>As reported by NDTV the incident took place in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The truck driver as per India Today lost control of the speeding heavy vehicle after a tire burst, causing the vehicle to ram into a nearby bus stop, near a traffic intersection. The vehicle was on its way to Badnawar from Ratlam.</p>

They also indicated that at least 12 people were killed on the spot and two others succumbed while they were being taken to the hospital.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The district’s superintendent of police (SP) said, “Of the 40 injured 25 have been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa (MP) where one person succumbed to his injuries. The death toll has increased to 15.” Reportedly a majority of the passengers of the bus were labourers who were on their way home to celebrate the festival of Diwali.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking about the accident, Rewa's collector Manoj Pushp&nbsp;said, “It seems that the truck had an accident and when the driver applied brakes, the bus behind it rammed into it. Rescue operations were carried out and the injured have been sent to hospital.”</p>

<p>Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke to his counterpart in UP, Yogi Adityanath and informed him about the accident. According to reports, the MP state government said that they will bear the treatment cost&nbsp;of those injured.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the other hand, the UP CM has announced a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh to the families of those who passed away and Rs 50,000 for those injured. President Droupadi Murmu in a statement also expressed sadness over the incident, and offered condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ahead of the India-South Africa third and final T20I, at the iconic Holkar Stadium in Indore on Tuesday evening (October 04), a huge controversy broke out. The MP Cricket Association claimed that a team of IMC officials -- under Additional Commissioner Lata Agarwal -- raided their office in a bid to demand municipal taxes. The MPCA fees that the action was taken following&nbsp;their refusal&nbsp;to give away 'more' free passes for officials. On the other hand, the IMC has rubbished all such charges.</p>

<p>On Monday (October 03), a team of IMC officials arrived at the MPCA officials and accused the body of not paying the&nbsp;property tax for the stadium. To this, MPCA office bearers protested and pointed out that the last date is months away, i.e. March 31. While the officials confirmed that the payment will be made by then, they paid INR 3.2 million (INR 32 lakhs)&nbsp;to settle the matter ahead of the series finale between Team India and South Africa.</p>

<p>In addition, the IMC team demanded entertainment tax for previous matches. It is to be noted that&nbsp;the tax liability of those encounters is not the&nbsp;MPCA's responsibility but on the organisers. The entertainment tax for Tuesday's T20I can only be paid after the match since the final ticket sale won't be known before that.</p>

We decided to settle their tax demand ahead of the due date because we did not want anything to come in the way of organizing the match.
