Kamal Haasan appealed to the court to restrain the government, police department and Film Chamber of Commerce from stopping the screening of the movie and petitioned to provide proper security for the movie screening. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Kamal Haasan to apologise, stating that failure to comply will result in his movie being banned from release in Karnataka. Narasimhulu, President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, said, "As per the demand of pro-Kannada organisations and also the letter written by the Karnataka Government, we have also given 24 hours to Kamal Hassan to apologise for the statement which you made that hurt the sentiments of Kannadigas of Karnataka state." "We have given in 24 hours as one of our distributors also invested money in his movie from Karnataka; distributors contacted his team, his team has said that he's in Dubai; he will come tomorrow, then there will be a message from Kamal Hassan. We will wait for 24 hours; if he doesn't apologise, his movie will not be allowed to be released in any of the theatres in Karnataka. 100% without his apology movie can not be released," he added. Sa Ra Govindu, member of KFCC and pro-Kannada activist, said Kannadigas will accept his apology wholeheartedly. "It is a simple issue, and Kamal Haasan, being a senior respected actor, can close it by saying one simple sorry to Kannadigas. We are Kannadigas, are very helpful to him in his film career and Kannadigas will accept his apology wholeheartedly, so we are waiting for him to come back from out of station. Once he comes back, he can simply ask for an apology, and then a decision can be taken to release his movie. If not, it is impossible, as distributors in Karnataka have decided, and theatre owners have decided not to release this movie in Karnataka, as they may also face a loss. He has hurt the sentiments of Kannadigas, and he must seek an apology from Karnataka." ‘Won't apologise if I am not wrong’ Last week, responding to the growing backlash, “Hassan stood by his statement, saying he believes in law and democracy. Terming India a "democratic country," the actor stated that he wouldn't "apologise" to anyone for his actions if he is "not wrong." Pro-Kannada organisations have demanded a public apology from him for allegedly hurting the sentiments of Kannada people. Speaking to media personnel outside the DMK party headquarters in Chennai on Friday, Haasan said, "It is a democracy. I believe in law and justice. My love for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala is genuine. Nobody will doubt it except for those who have an agenda. I've been threatened earlier too, and if I am wrong, I would apologise; if I'm not, I won't." Notably, Thug Life is directed by Mani Ratnam and stars Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Silambarasan TR in the lead roles. (With agency inputs)

<p>Kamal Haasan's highly-anticipated movie of the year <em>Indian 2 </em>is in the theatres. Directed by S&nbsp;Shankar and co-written by B&nbsp;Jeyamohan, the movie is a sequel to the 1996 hit film that starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After a wait of 28 years, Haasan is back as Veerasekaran Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilant. Titled <em>Indian 2: Zero Toleranc</em>e, the movie was released in the theatres on July 12 and has so far received&nbsp;disappointing reviews from fans and critics alike.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>What <em>Indian 2</em> Is All About?</strong></h2>

<p><em>Indian 2</em> takes place in the present day in India where&nbsp;corruption is at an all-time high. In the social media age, three friends run a YouTube channel through which they call out the wrongful activities going on in the nation. After realising that they failed to make an impact, they started a campaign called 'Come Back Indian.'</p>

<p>After a major online campaign, Indian thatha (grandfather) makes a comeback and like the previous film, he starts punishing the corrupt people around the country.</p>

<p>Kamal as Senapathy aka Indian and Hindustani has earned rave reviews for his performance in the movie. However, the movie's storyline has failed to impress the audience.&nbsp;</p>

Kamal Haasan's highly-anticipated movie of the year Indian 2 is in the theatres. Directed by S Shankar and co-written by B Jeyamohan, the movie is a sequel to the 1996 hit film that starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar. After a wait of 28 years, Haasan is back as Veerasekaran Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilant. Titled Indian 2: Zero Tolerance, the movie was released in the theatres on July 12 and has so far received disappointing reviews from fans and critics alike. What Indian 2 Is All About? Indian 2 takes place in the present day in India where corruption is at an all-time high. In the social media age, three friends run a YouTube channel through which they call out the wrongful activities going on in the nation. After realising that they failed to make an impact, they started a campaign called 'Come Back Indian.' After a major online campaign, Indian thatha (grandfather) makes a comeback and like the previous film, he starts punishing the corrupt people around the country. Kamal as Senapathy aka Indian and Hindustani has earned rave reviews for his performance in the movie. However, the movie's storyline has failed to impress the audience. #OneWordReview...#Hindustani2 *HINDI*: OUTDATED. Rating: ⭐️½ Interesting ideas don’t always make for interesting films... <p>After a long wait, Nag Ashwin's <em>Kalki 2898 AD</em> is finally out in the theatres. The movie stars some of the biggest stars of Indian cinema such as Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan. Released on May 27, the movie has garnered a wide range of reactions from critics and audiences alike. Since the release, viewers have questioned Kamal's limited screen time in the movie.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the movie inspired by Hindu mythology, Kamal plays the role of antagonist Yaskin. The actor's&nbsp;eerie appearance and prolific villanious performance have earned a lot of appraisal from the audience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During a press meet in Chennai, the veteran star opened up about his role in Nag Ashwin's sci-fi movie as he went on to share the details about his role in the second part.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Talking about his less screen time, Kamal said, as per Indian Express, “In Kalki, I have played a small role that makes an appearance for a few minutes only. My real part in the film has only begun and I will have more to do in the second part. So, I watched this film as a fan and I was astonished.”</p>

Ashwin has chosen stories from that and has executed it with a lot of patience by bringing everyone together.”</p>

<p>Reacting to his role, the actor-politician said, ''50 years back, when I was a dance assistant and an assistant director the name Ashwini Dutt loomed large in the production sector. Both of us are coming together after 50 years. A brilliant director from our next generation is at the helm. My co-stars Mr. Prabhas and Ms. Deepika are also of that generation. I have worked with Amit Ji before. Yet every time it feels like the first time. Amit Ji keeps reinventing himself. I am also emulating that inventive process. I am eagerly waiting for <em>Project K</em>. Whatever position the audience places me at, my primary quality is that I am a film buff. That quality will keep me applauding any new attempt in my industry. Let mine be the first applause for <em>Project K</em>. With our director Nag Ashwin’s vision I am sure that applause will echo across our country and the world of cinema.''</p>

<h2><strong>More about Project K</strong></h2>
