Australian all-rounder Cameron Green emerged as the highest-valued pick in the auction with Styris bidding Rs 20 crore while representing Sunrisers Hyderabad. While Green is expected to command a massive price, the 20 crore-mark has never been breached in the history of the tournament.

South African all-rounder Chris Morris is currently the costliest player in history as he was picked for Rs 16.25 crore by Rajasthan Royals in the 2021 edition of the competition.

Sam Curran was picked in the mock auction for Rs 19.5 crore while Ben Stokes fetched a high sum of Rs 19 crore. Odean Smith (8.5 crore) and Nicholas Pooran (8.5 crore) were also major picks.

Green, Curran and Stokes are the major names going into the auction and teams like Sunrisers, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings needing a major all-rounder in their ranks. With not many options in the auction, it is a possibility that any one of them can actually end up commanding such a big price.

The 23-year-old earned&nbsp;praise&nbsp;from experts and fans alike after his brilliant performance in the ICC T20 World Cup as he finished the tournament with 11 wickets in seven matches. He even picked up a hat-trick during the Super 12 encounter against New Zealand.

"Sam Curran has done really well for England as well as for the Chennai Super Kings, and there is Ben Stokes, who has led England well. So having a top all-rounder in your team can change the movement of the game. Then there is Jaydev Unadkat, who just won the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has a lot of experience in the IPL. Watch out for Joshua Little from Ireland. He has done really well in the World Cup just now, and I just played with him," Raina said during a show on Jio Cinema.

Mishra, who represented India in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 12 T20Is,&nbsp;is one of the most successful bowlers in the IPL. He remains the third highest wicket-taker, bagging 166 scalps in 154 matches at 23.95, and is&nbsp;the&nbsp;only bowler to claim three hat-tricks in the franchise-based tournament.

Ahead of the IPL auction, Mishra told PTI, "I have some 2-3 years of cricket left in me. I am keeping myself fit and my performance in domestic cricket last and this season have not been bad either. I am hopeful to be bought by a franchise at this week’s IPL auction."

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have released as many as sixteen players ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction next month. KKR have let go of the likes of Pat Cummins, Sam Billings, Shivam Mavi, and Alex Hales among others after completing three trades during the trading window.

The five-time champions have managed to retain their core group of players and are set to be stronger next season with the much-anticipated return of England pacer Jofra Archer, who missed last season due to his recovery from an injury. MI will also head into the new season with a new head coach - Mark Boucher.

Pollard is the only player released by Mumbai Indians who was among their four retentions last year. MI had retained the West Indies all-rounder for Rs 6 crore (INR 60 million) but will now head into the mini-auction with a larger purse courtesy of his decision to retire.

Lomror revealed he had never gone for trials at RCB or spoken with anyone from the team management in the past but is happy to get a chance to work with the likes of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik who are all part of the franchise.

"Before auction, I thought RCB is the last team which is going to pick me. Surprisingly, they bought me. "So I think there'd be some kind of buyers that'd be pretty wary of picking us up thinking that we wouldn't come again.

I definitely think that's a factor. I'm just speaking on what I think would be a factor in it. I don't know. I've never had a dialogue with a franchise or a person that says that's what would be the case. But I think I didn't go the year before as well with the birth of my boy," he added.

Further talking about the IPL, Richardson said: "So my reputation probably is that in the last couple of years I haven't gone so it's obviously not something that I am. While the bid should have been raised to Rs 5.50 crore (INR 55 million), Sharma mistakenly announced that DC had the highest bid for the player at the previous amount of Rs 5.25 crore (INR 52.5 million). Khaleel was eventually sold to DC for the same amount, however, it was Mumbai Indians who had first bid that amount for the Indian pacer.
