Donald Trump has once again claimed that India imposes high tariffs, a statement that was echoed by Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. This isn't the first time Trump has made this assertion, having previously described India as a "tariff king" that charges "tremendously high" tariffs on US products.&nbsp;
The interview was recorded earlier but broadcast on Wednesday (Feb 19).
Reiterating his claim that &ldquo;every country&rdquo; took advantage of the US with tariffs, Trump began by citing the example of tariffs on cars in India.

Trump said It&rsquo;s impossible for Musk to sell cars, practically in India. "I don&rsquo;t know if that&rsquo;s true or not, but I think&hellip;&rdquo; said Trump, and Musk completed his sentence by mentioning, &ldquo;The tariffs are like 100% import duty.&rdquo; This highlights the significant trade barriers that Tesla faces in the Indian market.

The import duty on electric vehicles that cost at least $35,000 is 15 per cent in India, subject to conditions.
Trump added that if Musk wanted to build a factory in India, that was &ldquo;okay&rdquo; but also &ldquo;unfair&rdquo; to the US. &ldquo;That&rsquo;s unfair to us. It&rsquo;s very unfair,&rdquo; he said.
Trump added, &ldquo;I told Prime Minister [Narendra] Modi&hellip; Here&rsquo;s what you do. We are going to&hellip; be very fair with you.&rdquo;

Trump was cut off mid-sentence when asked if India's tariffs were 36 per cent, to which he responded that they were "much, much higher." 
Musk chimed in, revealing that the tariffs on auto imports were actually a staggering 100 per cent.
Musk has also agreed with Trump and said &ldquo;It needs to be at a level playing field and fair and square.&rdquo; 
Trump then claimed that the US would now &ldquo;make a lot of money&rdquo; and &ldquo;a lot of businesses&rdquo; would come pouring in.
Tesla, led by Musk, has taken significant steps towards establishing a presence in India, having already identified locations for showrooms in New Delhi and Mumbai, and posted job openings for 13 mid-level positions in the country, Reuters reported.

In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old woman suddenly collapsed and died from cardiac arrest while she was dancing at a wedding celebration in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district.
The woman has been identified as Parinita Jain, from Indore, who was attending the marriage function of her cousin at a local resort.

The family members of the deceased who were doctors, tried giving CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to her, to which she did not respond, according to IANS reports.
After this, she was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Parinita was an MBA graduate and was living with her parents in Indore's South Tukoganj.
One of the deceased's younger brothers also died of a heart attack at the age of 12, IANS reported citing official information.
In another similar incident, a 15-year-old boy died of cardiac arrest while he was playing cricket in Agar-Malwa district in October 2024.
In a separate incident in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a 73-year-old man died when he suffered a heart attack and collapsed on stage while dancing during a yoga program.
Similarly, in April 2024, an 18-year-old in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut collapsed and later died while she was dancing at her sister's pre-wedding festivities.

A government employee in the Indian state of West Bengal reportedly went on a stabbing spree after his leave request was allegedly declined. The incident happened near Kolkata's Newtown area around 12:00 pm on Thursday.&nbsp;
The accused, identified as Amit Kumar Sarkar, is said to be a government employee posted at the Karigori Bhawan in Kolkata. Meanwhile, the victims were Joydev Chakraborty, Sheikh Shatabul, Shantanu Saha and Sartha Let.&nbsp;

Reports citing police stated that all four persons were admitted to a nearby private hospital. Two, however, are in critical condition. He reportedly also injured one of his office security guards during the attack.&nbsp;
A video of Sarkar walking on city streets, holding a blood-stained knife in his hand, went viral on social media forums. In the video, passersby can be seen requesting him to drop the weapon.&nbsp;

As quoted by Indian Express, sources in the Techno City police said that Amit Sarkar usually remains calm at the office and at home, but he could not control himself when fellow workers made fun of his father.&nbsp;
As quoted, a senior police officer said, "After the arrest, Sarkar said he had a cool head but his four colleagues joked about his father and thus he attacked them. We are verifying the cause of the incident."&nbsp;

Member of the European Parliament (MEP), who also sits on the committee of Foreign Affairs, Prof Dr Vladimir Prebilic has called for the "deepening of friendship with India" even as he hoped that the EU gets more Indian students and skilled Indian workers.&nbsp;
Speaking to WION's Sidhant Sibal in Brussels, Dr Prebilic, who was elected from Slovenia said, "If Europe needed new friends, this is the time, and I think India is the right answer to our questions and our needs. I would say that we are really pushing forward with some agreements.'
This year will be a big year for India-EU ties, with the expected visit of Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission to India very soon and later this year the India-EU Summit.&nbsp;
The legislator also suggested a program along the lines of the Erasmus program that will "enable Indian students to come to Europe and vice versa".
Erasmus Programme, officially known as the "European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students," is a major initiative by the European Union aimed at enhancing education, training, youth, and sports across Europe. Full interview.
WION: How do you see India-EU ties?
Prof Dr Vladimir Prebilic: First of all, thank you for your visit and have the opportunity to talk to you. I have found the line that if there was ever a very good chance to deepen the relationship with India, now is the time. Why? Because we are living in a very unstable geopolitical environment. I always say, that if Europe needs new friends, this is the time, and I think India is the right answer to our questions and our needs. I would say that we are really pushing forward with some agreements. One of them is a free trade agreement that should be underway. European Parliament definitely supports this kind of approach, but I think there are many other options to deepen our friendship with India. I think that India also is much closer to Europe than to other countries, let's say United States or China. And there are certain historical reasons. They also have certain cultural reasons. And I always say much more unites us, India and the European Union than divides us. So let's explore these possibilities in the future.&nbsp;
WION: So there are many things that bring India and the EU together. One, it looks like, could be education. How do you see the education pillar of the relationship expanding Indian students are everywhere in the world. What's your suggestion or plans to get more Indian students here in the European Union
Prof Dr Vladimir Prebilic: Within the European Union, we've already had a special program called the Mobility Program, known under the name of Erasmus. I would suggest, already started to do that, to suggest another program that will enable Indian students to come to Europe and vice versa. Why? I think that knowledge sharing is a very good starting point if you want to create a true relationship or true friendship between the two entities. Moreover, exchanging knowledge is beneficial for both sides. So I think there is a great opportunity, and also we can learn a lot from each other maybe some stereotypes that may still exist on both sides, on Indian or European sites, could be handled or removed by deepening the knowledge about each other. So I think this new approach of Erasmus being available for Indian students and European students to exchange is a great opportunity.
WION: My last question to you is when it comes to immigration because immigration is a big debate here in the European Union. How do you see Indian immigrants? Because when it comes to Indian immigrants, a large portion of Indian immigrants are skilled workers, and they have been lauded across the world. So what's your view about having Indian immigrants in the European Union?&nbsp;
Prof Dr Vladimir Prebilic: So you would know that demography in the European Union doesn't really work in the way we would like to. So we have problems with natural reproduction. So immigration will be needed also in the future. But whenever we talk about immigration, of course, we have to talk about legal immigration. We would like to influence who will be the one sharing our future together. And I see India as a very good potential partner. Again, there are a lot more things that unite us. So we are not so far away culturally. And of course, not to forget, you are the biggest democracy in the world. And democracy is something that your opinion always stands by. So I think this is a very good opportunity for both sides, that you would have more opportunities to also become part of European society.

'Need to deepen friendship with India', says Member of European Parliament Dr Vladimir

The Vice President of European Investment Bank (EIB), Nicola Beer, has said that the bank is looking for a &lsquo;win-win&rsquo; partnership with India. EIB, one of the largest multilateral financial institutions globally, is notably active in financing projects that address climate change, aiming to align its investment with the Paris Agreement. The bank has made significant investments in urban rail mobility projects across major cities in India, including Lucknow, Bengaluru, Pune, Bhopal, Kanpur, and Agra. Sidhant Sibal: My first question to you is about the European Investment Bank and its role in projects in India, if you can talk about it, if you can shed some light on it?
Nicola Beer: First, thank you that you are interested in the European Investment Bank, and the European Investment Bank is engaged in India since 1993. We did invest about 5.5 billion euros so far, with a huge emphasis on decarbonisation. So in energy, renewable energy, on transport, and also on all that is helping people, so water projects, especially when it comes up to the quality of drinking water. The largest engagement of the European Investment Bank in India is about decarbonisation of public transport, especially when it comes to railways, suburbs, and urban ones. Here we invested 3.6 billion euros, and I think this is maybe the best example to show how we really try to have with our partners on the ground here in India an impact for citizens, because, of course, if you have this public transport, then first, you are travelling faster because you do not have the traffic jams. You have safe access for all kinds of citizens, especially but for vulnerable groups like women or handicapped, they can travel safer and they have access, quicker access, also to working places, education places all over a city or a region. So for us, this is very important that this comes together and is then, in this kind, answering the need of fast-growing cities and regions like you have it in India.

Sidhant Sibal: Moving to the larger Global South. Now, the role of the European Investment Bank in the Global South, if you can shed some light on it, the projects you have been involved in the Global South? Nicola Beer: Coming to the Global South, it is important for us that we deliver on projects that lead to better life conditions for the citizens and that we do it together with partners on the ground. But we come merely with the European family, which means that we, in the context of the team Europe approach. We come as a European anchor investor, but we often bring them other financial institutions, for example, from the member states, or we are cooperating, for example, with the Asian Development Bank to bring better living conditions, drinking water, and health. So, investing huge amounts, especially in vaccine development, health condition and infrastructure, in better mobility on the ground, and in renewable energy, so that you have really affordable and safe energy around all the places.

Nicola Beer: Thank you very much for the question, because we as the climate bank of European Union are of course, heavily engaged in climate action. A lot of challenges we have are not European or Indian or Global South challenges. These are challenges for the whole globe. So we have to act in partnership. And European Investment Bank is stepping up this investment. We got a top-up from our stakeholders, shareholders. So the 27 member states, we can do more business. We can especially also do more business outside the European Union. So we will not only continue to be invested, but we will also increase our investments. And I think this is heavily important that we look how we can bring the strengths of different regions in a partnership together, how we can be interrelated. Sidhant Sibal: My first question to you is about the European Investment Bank and its role in projects in India, if you can talk about it, if you can shed some light on it? Nicola Beer: First, thank you that you are interested in the European Investment Bank, and the European Investment Bank is engaged in India since 1993. We did invest about 5.5 billion euros so far, with a huge emphasis on decarbonisation. So in energy, renewable energy, on transport, and also on all that is helping people, so water projects, especially when it comes up to the quality of drinking water. The largest engagement of the European Investment Bank in India is about decarbonisation of public transport, especially when it comes to railways, suburbs, and urban ones. Here we invested 3.6 billion euros, and I think this is maybe the best example to show how we really try to have with our partners on the ground here in India an impact for citizens, because, of course, if you have this public transport, then first, you are travelling faster because you do not have the traffic jams. You have safe access for all kinds of citizens, especially but for vulnerable groups like women or handicapped, they can travel safer and they have access, quicker access, also to working places, education places all over a city or a region. So for us, this is very important that this comes together and is then, in this kind, answering the need of fast-growing cities and regions like you have it in India. But we come merely with the European family, which means that we, in the context of the team Europe approach. We come as a European anchor investor, but we often bring them other financial institutions, for example, from the member states, or we are cooperating, for example, with the Asian Development Bank to bring better living conditions, drinking water, and health. So, investing huge amounts, especially in vaccine development, health condition and infrastructure, in better mobility on the ground, and in renewable energy, so that you have really affordable and safe energy around all the places. India fired back at allegations of interfering in Canada's elections, calling out a recent Canadian report for its "baseless" claims.&nbsp;
In a strong-worded statement, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) rejected the report, stating that it was actually Canada that had been meddling in India's internal affairs.

"India is the second most active country engaging in electoral foreign interference in Canada. Like the PRC, India is a critical actor on the world stage. Canada and India have worked together for decades, but there are challenges in the relationship. Many of these are long-standing and inform India's foreign interference activities," the report said.
A 123-page report highlighted the expulsion of six Indian diplomats in October 2024, labelling them as "agents."&nbsp;
The report referred to the October 14, 2024, incident when Canada expelled sex diplomats after its police, in response to the evidence gathered, suggested that they were involved in an Indian government-backed "campaign of violence".
India retaliated by expelling six Canadian diplomats, including Acting High Commissioner Stewart Wheeler, and withdrawing its own High Commissioner and other diplomats from Canada, citing security concerns.
"In October 2024, Canada expelled six Indian diplomats and consular officials in reaction to a targeted campaign against Canadian citizens by agents linked to the Government of India," the report alleged.
The report also accused New Delhi of spreading disinformation surrounding the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The report, however, contradicted itself as it stated that Canada could not find a link to a foreign state in Nijjar's killing.
"Disinformation is also used as a retaliatory tactic, to punish decisions that run contrary to a state's interests. This may have been the case with a disinformation campaign that followed the Prime Minister's announcement regarding suspected Indian involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar (though again no definitive link to a foreign state could be proven)," the report said.

The contract killers ended up murdering Rizwan in the Madehganj area mistakenly.
Ahmed, who was the main accused of plotting the murder, hired Yasir who further got Krishnakant involved in the plan.
The duo went to the Madehganj area on Dec 30 to kill the woman's father Irfan but killed Rizwan.

The police officials said that they had recovered an illegal firearm, 14 live cartridges, and a motorcycle that was allegedly used in the murder plot, along with three mobile phones.
DCP Tyagi said that the accused would now be presented in court.

In October this year, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun issued a public video warning people against flying on Air India flights between November 1 and 19.&nbsp;
He claimed that an attack could happen. Moreover, more than 100 Indian flights received bomb threats in October, which turned out to be hoaxes.&nbsp;
Air India received threats for around 36 flights and IndiGo for about 35 flights.&nbsp;
<h3>Pannun threatens to attack PM Modi during Maha Kumbh</h3>
In fresh threats, Pannun on Dec 24 (Tuesday) released a video, threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.&nbsp;

In October this year, the Canadian PM accused the Indian government of making a "fundamental error" by supporting criminal activities in Canada.

Capital gains holding period changes The government has modified the time period for capital assets to further categorise capital gains as long-term or short-term. The new criteria stipulate two holding periods for capital assets to determine whether earnings are classified as short-term or long-term. Profits from the sale of any listed investment held for twelve months are classified as long-term capital gains. Conversely, for capital gains on non-listed assets to qualify as long-term, the holding period for these securities must be 24 months. Adjusting the holding period will facilitate taxpayers in monitoring the duration for which they must retain specific assets prior to sale, ensuring that their capital gains qualify as long-term capital gains.

The car attack killed at least five, including a nine-year-old child, and wounded 205 other individuals, with 15 suffering serious injuries, 37 sustaining moderate injuries, and 16 escaping with minor wounds. &nbsp;

German police arrested a Saudi man for the attack. The attacker,&nbsp;identified as Taleb al-Abdulmohsen aka&nbsp;Taleb A., is a 50-year-old doctor of psychiatry from Saudi Arabia, who has been living in Germany since 2006.

As per reports, Saudi authorities had sent several tips against Taleb in 2023 and 2024 and Germany had even conducted a risk assessment last year. The assessment by German state and federal criminal investigators concluded that he posed "no specific danger," reported the Welt newspaper.

While his motive isn't clear, reports suggest that Taleb had strong anti-Islam views and was angry with Germany's migrant and asylum policy.

Exclusive: Vietnam, India close to finalising BrahMos deal

After months of fear due to bomb threats received by several schools in Delhi, the Special Cell of Delhi Police revealed that at least two schools in the Rohini district received threatening emails from their own students, who wanted to postpone exams as they were not prepared.&nbsp;

"After investigation by the Special Cell of Delhi Police, it was found that the emails were sent to both schools by two different students of the same school," Delhi police said in a statement.

The police added, "Both students had sent this email to stop the exam because they were not prepared for the exam paper."

When these bomb threats emerged, the police conducted the research and declared them as hoaxes.&nbsp;

On December 13, a total of 30 schools across Delhi received hoax bomb threat emails.

In Mymensingh's Haluaghat sub-district, three idols across two temples were destroyed on Thursday and Friday. Two idols at the under-construction Bonderpara Temple in Shakuai were desecrated, while another at Polashkanda Kali Temple in Beeldora was damaged.

A 27-year-old man, Alal Uddin, has been arrested in connection with the Polashkanda temple attack, reported Daily Star newspaper, citing&nbsp;Abul Khayer, Officer-in-Charge of Haluaghat Police Station.

Uddin reportedly confessed during interrogation and was subsequently remanded in custody. &nbsp;

According to an ANI news agency report, another man, a 37-year-old male named Azharul, has been arrested "for vandalising Hindu idols in the Shakuair area."

<h2>Concerns for minorities in Bangladesh</h2>

These vandalism attacks are part of a broader pattern of violence targeting Hindus in Bangladesh.

Recently, India's junior foreign minister Kirti Vardhan Singh, in a written reply to a question in lower house of parliament Lok Sabha revealed that over 2,200 incidents were reported this year in Bangladesh.&nbsp;

The United States (US) has told its Supreme Court to dismiss the petition brought by Mumbai terror attack convict Tahawwur Rana to&nbsp;avoid his extradition to India. New Delhi&nbsp;is seeking the extradition of the Pakistan-origin Canadian in relation to&nbsp;the Mumbai Taj Hotel attack in 2008.&nbsp;

Rana filed the petition on November 13 after losing the legal battle against the extradition in lower courts. He filed a “petition for a writ of certiorari” before the US Supreme Court.

Rana is currently in jail in Los Angeles and faces charges for his role in the attack. He is said to be associated with the Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley, who was one of the main conspirators of the attack.&nbsp;

On December 16, US Solicitor General Elizabeth B. Prelogar said, "The petition for a writ of certiorari should be denied".&nbsp;

She further added, "The government does not concede that all of the conduct on which India seeks extradition was covered by the government's prosecution in this case. For example, India's forgery charges are based in part on conduct that was not charged in the United States: petitioner's use of false information in an application to formally open a branch office of the Immigration Law Centre submitted to the Reserve Bank of India".&nbsp;

Hundreds of people staged a&nbsp;protest&nbsp;in Kolkata, the capital of India's eastern state of West Bengal, on Monday (Dec 16) under the banner of "Bengali Hindu Suraksha Samiti", raising their voices on the attacks on minorities in Bangladesh and demanding the release of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das.&nbsp;

In a shocking case, a man in the Indian state of Bihar, working as a teacher in a government school, was abducted on Friday (Dec 13) and was forcefully married to a girl at gunpoint. According to reports, a dozen unknown men abducted the teacher, identified as Avnish Kumar, on the way to work. He was allegedly in a four-year-long relationship with the woman.&nbsp;

The incident was another so-called "Pakadwa Vivah" of Bihar, where unmarried men are forced to marry at gunpoint.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Avnish, a resident of Bihar's Begusarai district was kidnapped by the family of Gunjan, a resident of Lakhisarai district. Both of them were allegedly in a relationship for four years, but Avnish, who recently became a teacher after clearing the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam, refused to marry her.&nbsp;

Gunjan claimed that their relationship was "serious" and both of them frequently used to visit hotels together and also shared stays at Avnish's house in the Katihar district.&nbsp;

"He had promised to marry me and start a family. He had also taken me to his school. We were in love for four years. But when I informed my family about it, and we approached him for marriage, he refused. This was unacceptable," Gunjan alleged.&nbsp;

Three days before Avnish's kidnapping, Gunjan's family caught the duo together in Katihar. Both were forcefully married in a temple.&nbsp;

Avnish denied all the claims of prior relationship saying, "I had no love for that girl. She harassed me by repeatedly calling and stalking me. On the day of the incident, some men kidnapped me in a Scorpio vehicle while I was on my way to school. They beat me, forcibly applied vermilion, and tried to perform rituals. I protested throughout".&nbsp;

The teacher has since a police complaint alleging kidnapping and physical assault.

In what is a significant development, Estonia's Defence minister Hanno Pevkur has said Indian companies are keen to invest in his country to produce ammunition. The development comes even as India markets itself as a major manufacturer of defence equipment.

Speaking to WION's Sidhant Sibal, minister Pevkur said, "It's not only ammunition. It's also the Armed Vehicles production, Howitzer production. So, the cooperation is very intense. So, I really do hope that I can find the time also to come to India".

The minister also spoke about the war in Ukraine and NATO's defence budget expansion. Estonia has been one of the few NATO countries consistently meeting or exceeding the two per cent GDP defense spending target, and in 2024, it's estimated to spend 3.4 per cent&nbsp;of GDP on defense, placing it among the top spenders in NATO relative to its economy.

Hanno Pevkur: I see that, in last year, specifically, we have had very good cooperation, and I see that there is a huge opportunity to increase that cooperation. And I know that, yes, there is a very successful cooperation already today. But what is more important that we are establishing here in Estonia, the new defense industry Park, and there are a couple of big Indian companies who are interested to come to invest in Estonia to start production of, for instance, the 155-millimeter ammunition. So I'm not allowed to say yet who are the companies, but when you have the understanding that who is producing in India, 155 millimeter of ammunition, then you probably can also have the understanding it who are interested to invest into Estonia. So, but it's not only ammunition. It's also the Armed Vehicles production, Howitzer production. So the cooperation is very intense. So I really do hope that I can find the time also to come to India and visit some companies and to send a very clear message, Estonia is a safe environment for to invest. WION: So moving to the situation in Europe, there is a war in Ukraine. You share borders with Russia, so how do you see the current situation. Do you see&nbsp;peace in 2025, when&nbsp;Trump comes to power in Washington and the situation in Europe?

Hanno Pevkur: Well, of course, we all hope that the war in Ukraine will be over. We it's clear, and we all also understand that it's an extremely heavy burden for Ukrainian people, because they are losing the people they have to fight for their own freedom. And Russia is violating all the international norms you can find. So they are killing civilian people. They are attacking the civilian infrastructure. So this is what we see. Unfortunately, Russia is not ready to stop this war because if President Trump is saying that he wants to end this war in 24 hours, then there is one person who can do that in 24 minutes or 24 seconds. So this is Vladimir Putin sending the order to the army that we will finish this war immediately and go out from Ukraine. So from our perspective, what is important, important is that we will have fair peace. So, and this fair piece means that Russia has to take the responsibility. Of course, we will never respect that Russia has occupied some territories of Ukraine.

WION: Do you see India's role in terms of providing peace?

Hanno Pevkur: Well, there are many leaders of the country, different countries, who are in this process. So the important thing is that Russia needs to understand that it's not the end goal for them to take somebody's territory by force. And the international law is very clear. And I believe that also, Russia has to look very closely into the mirror, that you cannot take one moment from the history and say that this is the right moment, because when we look into the history, Russia has been very small or Moscovia, so Moscow, which was close to Moscow, so this was the Russian state. We know that in Russian history, you have had different times. So you cannot take one part and say that this is the only part, because 1991 was the time when the Soviet Union collapsed and Ukrainian state was formed, and this should be also important for Russia to respect and accept. So let's see.

WION: We also have seen comments by the NATO chief saying that we need to have a war mindset. Also, there have been calls for the NATO countries to increase their budget for the NATO grouping. What's your view on that? I believe Estonia is paying much more than its geographical size.

Hanno Pevkur: Yes, we are doing more than it is agreed in NATO, but we don't see also any other option. Russia has been and will be our neighbour, and we don't see that they will be less hostile. Unfortunately, there was hope in 90s that Russia will be a democratic country. And of course, that means that the alliance, the strongest military alliance called NATO, has been successful for the last 75 years, and we truly believe that together with our allies, we can deter Russia. So this is why we are investing more and more. This is why also we encourage our friends in other states to invest more, because we see that it is important to deter Russia.

Indian companies keen to produce ammunitions in Estonia: Defence minister Hanno Pevkur

Bengaluru police on Wednesday (Dec 11) said that an FIR was filed against four people in connection with the suicide of 34-year-old Atul Subhash, who was working as deputy general manager at a private company.

Subhash&nbsp;took his own life accusing his wife and in-laws of extortion, harassment and corruption.

The FIR is based on Subhash's brother Bikas Kumar's complaint and is filed under section 108 (abetment of suicide) and section 3 (5) (establishes joint criminal liability when two or more people act with a common intention) of the BNS.&nbsp;

It is filed against the techie's wife Nikita Singhania, his mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, his wife's brother Anurag Singhania and his wife's uncle Sushil Singhania.

It states that Atul Subhash married Nikita Singhania in 2019, with whom he had a child. Following their divorce, the four accused allegedly filed false charges against Atul and demanded Rs 3 crore to settle the case.

Rescue efforts continued into their 46th hour on Wednesday (Dec 11) to save a five-year-old boy who accidentally fell into a borewell while playing in Rajasthan's Dausa.

One of the rescue officials at the site said that a 35-metre hole had been dug to rescue the boy.

"We have dug a hole 35 metres deep and require to dig in some 46 to 48 metres more to rescue the boy. We are doing our best and are trying to complete the rescue operations today," Yogesh said speaking to news agency ANI.
