Economic strength and December quarter surge<o:p></o:p>

According to a report by Mint, India's economic resilience is highlighted by the unexpected growth surge of 8.4 per cent in the December quarter, defying concerns of a slowdown. <o:p></o:p>

The National Statistical Office's revised GDP estimates indicate higher growth for the first two quarters of the fiscal year. <o:p></o:p>

Encouragingly, key indicators in manufacturing and services sectors, as indicated by the HSBC Flash India Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), position India as one of the fastest-growing major economies. <o:p></o:p>

Inflation trends and monetary policy<o:p></o:p>

Moody's anticipates a downward trend in India's inflation rate, projecting a decline to 5.5 per cent in the fiscal year 2023-24 from the previous fiscal year's peak of 6.7 per cent. <o:p></o:p>

This expectation of disinflation is considered a crucial factor supporting monetary easing. <o:p></o:p>

Despite the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) maintaining a steady repo rate at 6.5 per cent, Moody's notes that the solid growth dynamics, coupled with inflation above the 4.0 per cent target, suggest a cautious approach towards policy easing. <o:p></o:p>

Beyond GDP growth, Moody's comprehensive report delves into the banking sector's outlook. <o:p></o:p>

The agency foresees a continued reduction in non-performing assets (NPAs) as the operating environment improves. <o:p></o:p>

The NPA ratio has already witnessed a decline to 3.2 per cent, indicating the banking sector's resilience. <o:p></o:p>

Moody's expects banks to maintain strong capitalisation, with the ability to raise capital easily if needed. <o:p></o:p>

The report also touches upon the profitability of banks, projecting healthy levels while acknowledging a marginal decline in Net Interest Margin due to deposit repricing. <o:p></o:p>

A report by Zee News citing sources said most of the identified illicit madrasas are situated along the Indo-Nepal border, and their construction over the past two decades has been funded by contributions originating in Gulf countries.&nbsp;

A majority of these madrasas were located in seven districts of UP that border Nepal, including Maharajganj, Shravasti, and Bahraich, according to the report by SIT. The investigation also found each border district is home to more than 500 such madrasas.&nbsp;

According to the media report, most of these madrasas had failed to provide financial records sought by the SIT team, and have no clear accounts of their income and expenditure. Many of these madrasas claim to have been built with donations but reportedly were unable to disclose the names of contributors.

The SIT team investigated a total of 23,000 madrasas out of which 5,000 had provisional recognition, while others have fallen short of meeting accreditation standards over the past 25 years.&nbsp;

A report submitted to the government in this regard, on November 15, 2023, showed 8,596 of around 25,000 madrasas were running without recognition in the state.&nbsp;

The investigation also found that around 665,000 students were enrolled in these unrecognised institutions.

<h2>‘Stringent action’</h2>

Speaking about the findings of the recent SIT probe, Deputy CM Pathak said, “Our government will further strengthen law and order in the state. Under no circumstances, will we allow illegal activities in the state.”&nbsp;

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Former Calcutta High Court judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay joins BJP

In line with the Indian Government's vision of supporting emerging startups in the country's space sector, IN-SPACe, the sector regulator and facilitator has established and inaugurated the IN-SPACe technical centre in Bopal, Ahmedabad. This new facility is equipped with the resources to support the fledgling firms in designing, developing, simulating and testing of space technologies. The Government is offering these facilities to startups, as most firms would not be able to set up such expensive facilities on their own.&nbsp;

As we aim to grow our share in the global space economy share from 2 per cent to 8 per cent by 2033, we have come up with new policies and eased restrictions for investments as well as space startups. The opening up of FDI in the space sector is one such progressive step to boost private space efforts and make India self-reliant in space technology, said Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science &amp; Technology.&nbsp;

According to Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre, (IN-SPACe), the centre features a range of facilities including the Climate Simulation Test Facility (CSTF), the Thermal and Vacuum Environment Simulation Facility (TVAC), the Vibration Test Facility (VTF), the Space Systems Assembly Integration Testing &amp; Checkout Laboratory, the RF and Opto-Electronics Laboratory and Clean Rooms for Assembly, Integration and Testing activities.&nbsp;

Simply put, these facilities would help firms test their hardware under harsh space-like conditions. For example, during a rocket flight, a satellite is subject to high levels of noise and vibration from the launch vehicle that is piercing through the dense layers of earth's atmosphere and heading towards space. Likewise, once in space, the satellite faces extreme temperature variations and exposure to radiation. Therefore, it is important to intensively test expensive space hardware for operating in such conditions before getting them integrated into a rocket or satellite.&nbsp;

Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, emphasised the collaborative opportunities the Centre offers, "IN-SPACe Technical centre is equipped with&nbsp;state-of-the-art technical facilities for simulation, assembly and integration of space systems, and collaborative workspaces, with an aim to create a one stop solution for Non-Government Entities to transform their initial designs into full-fledged space products/solutions. By enabling access to essential development and testing infrastructure under one roof, IN-SPACe endeavours to democratise availability of tech-infrastructure for all Space NGEs from early stage startups to large established companies, and create conducive ecosystem for private industry to grow in the space sector".

The development comes after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday (Mar 2) announced its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The ruling party dropped four sitting MPs - Harsh Vardhan, Parvesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri and Meenakshi Lekhi in Delhi, choosing new faces.

In a long farewell message that he shared on his official X handle, Vardhan said that he would go back to his "roots" and continue making efforts "against tobacco and substance abuse, against climate change and teaching simple and sustainable lifestyles."

"After over thirty years of a glorious electoral career, during which I won all the five assembly and two parliamentary elections that I fought with exemplary margins, and held a multitude of prestigious positions in the party organisation and the governments at the state and centre I finally bow out to return to my roots," he said.

"Service to mankind was my motto when I joined MBBS in GSVM Medical College, Kanpur fifty years back with a desire to help the poor and needy. A swayamsewak at heart, I have always been an ardent admirer of Deen Dayal Upadhyay ji's Antodaya philosophy of striving to serve the last man in the queue. It was at the insistence of the then RSS leadership that I jumped into the electoral fray. They could convince me only because for me politics meant opportunity to fight our three main enemies - poverty, disease and ignorance," he added.

The former minister's post added: "Without remorse, I must say that it has been a marvelous innings during which my passion to serve the common man was quenched. I served as Delhi Health Minister as well as twice Union Health Minister, a subject close to my heart. I had the rare opportunity bestowed upon me to be able to first work towards creating a Polio free Bharat and then to take care of the health of millions of our countrymen grappling with the dreaded COVID-19 during its first and second phases".

"In the long history of mankind, only a few have been granted the privilege to defend their people in hours of gravest danger! And I can proudly claim that I didn't shirk responsibility, but welcomed it. My gratitude to Ma Bharati, my reverence to my fellow citizens and my obeisance to the values enshrined in our Constitution. And yes, that was the biggest privilege that Bhagwan Shri Ram bestowed upon me, the privilege of being able to save human lives !!,"&nbsp;Harsh Vardhan said.

India's former health minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday (March 3) announced his decision to quit politics. A doctor by profession, Vardhan said his clinic awaits his return. In a long farewell message that he shared on his official X handle, Vardhan said that he would go back to his "roots" and continue making efforts "against tobacco and substance abuse, against climate change and teaching simple and sustainable lifestyles." "Service to mankind was my motto when I joined MBBS in GSVM Medical College, Kanpur fifty years back with a desire to help the poor and needy. And yes, that was the biggest privilege that Bhagwan Shri Ram bestowed upon me, the privilege of being able to save human lives !!," Harsh Vardhan said. The country wishes him a heroic return to power again." "I shall continue to pursue my work against tobacco and substance abuse, against climate change and teaching simple and sustainable lifestyles. Lok Sabha polls 2024: Former health minister Harsh Vardhan quits politics, says ‘my clinic awaits my return’

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday (March 3) came down heavily on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stating that he was never abused by RJD when he previously broke the alliance with them in the year 2017.

He then questioned Kumar's decision to return to the NDA fold asking if he ever feels ashamed about the way he keeps changing sides.

While addressing the party's 'Jan Vishwas Maha Rally' in Patna, Yadav said, "We never abused him when he broke alliance with us. We just called him Paltu-Ram at that time. But we made the same mistake again, and Tejashwi made the same mistake again. We knew something was happening in Raj Bhawan. There was nothing wrong with that government (previous Bihar govt). Does he not feel ashamed?"

He then appealed to the public to make the BJP lose in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls stating that the opinion of Bihar resonates with that of the country.

"Bihar has given lots of great personalities. In the same Gandhi Maidan, leaders of the country have held rallies and meetings. A message went to the whole country from here. Bihar's opinion has so much power that the people of the country imitate what Bihar decides. Tomorrow also, the same is going to happen," he said.

Opposition leaders such as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav were also present at the RJD's 'Jan Vishwas Maha Rally'.

<h2>'Who will take guarantee of Nitish Kumar,' says RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav</h2>

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also slammed the Bihar CM over repeatedly changing sides stating that the state government should get an insurance done because of JD-U chief Kumar's repeated U-turns.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party has been given a deadline by the Supreme Court to vacate its headquarters which stands on the plot of land allotted to the High Court.

The apex court has directed the party to vacate the place by June 15.

Taking into consideration the upcoming general election, a bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud also allowed AAP to apply to the Land and Development Office of the Government of India for allotment of alternate land in accordance with the law in the meantime.

"In view of the impending general elections, we grant time until June 15, 2024, to vacate the premises," the court said.

<h2>Respect&nbsp;SC's order to vacate the Delhi office, says AAP</h2>

The party released a statement saying that it respected the court's order to vacate its offices in Delhi's Rouse Avenue further expressing hope that it would be allotted land in the same location soon.

Priyanka Kakkar, the AAP's chief national spokesperson, said, "We respect the Supreme Court. The apex court has also directed that the Centre's L&amp;DO (Land and Development Office) allot an alternative land for the AAP's office as soon as possible."&nbsp;

"We hope that the BJP will not do any regressive, discriminatory or dirty politics and, without further delay, allot land for the AAP's office premises at the same location where all the other national parties have been allotted land for office use in Delhi," Kakkar said.

At the time of the hearing in the court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted that the Aam Aadmi Party had encroached on the land since 2017.

The court also underscored that the AAP was not a lawful occupant of the land after 2017.

However, senior Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for the national capital's ruling party, submitted that the AAP was one of the six national parties and is entitled to land in the New Delhi municipal area, under its status.

"They are telling us as a national party we get nothing. I'm given (land in) Badarpur while everyone else is in better places. A particular government does not want me to be flourishing and working," Singhvi said.

<h2>Court seeks police report</h2>

As per media reports, a Division Bench of the court, led by Acting Chief Justice S Chandrashekhar sought a report from Jharkhand's Chief Secretary and Director-General of Police (DGP), as well as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dumka district.

The Bombay High Court, on Tuesday (Mar 5) acquitted former Delhi University professor GN Saibaba and five others accused in the Maoist link case. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra state government moved the Supreme Court to challenge Bombay High Court’s verdict.&nbsp;

<h2>What did the Bombay High Court say?</h2>

The bench of the Bombay High Court comprising justices Vinay Joshi and Valmiki SA Menezes rejected the 2017 verdict by a sessions court in Maharashtra’s city of Nagpur which convicted Saibaba and others.

The Bombay High Court acquitted GN Saibaba, Hem Mishra, Mahesh Tirkey, Vijay Tirkey, Narayan Sanglikar, Prashant Rahi and Pandu Narote (who died in 2022 due to swine flu).&nbsp;

The six people had been arrested and convicted under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for alleged Maoist links and were accused of aiding and abetting Maoist activities in March 2017.

However, the bench said it was acquitting all the accused in the case since the prosecution had failed to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt against them. The Bombay High Court said that the accused could be released from prison after paying a fine of Rs 50,000 (approx. $603).&nbsp;

“The prosecution has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt the case against the accused persons,” the high court said. It held as “null and void” the sanction procured by the prosecution to charge the accused under the anti-terror law, UAPA.

The Bombay High Court also acquitted Saibaba, 54, and set aside the life sentence imposed on him noting that the prosecution failed to prove the case against the former Delhi University professor.&nbsp;

The 54-year-old is wheelchair-bound due to physical disability and has been lodged in the Nagpur Central Jail since his arrest in relation to the case in 2014.&nbsp;

<h2>Maharashtra govt to move the Supreme Court</h2>

While the prosecution did not seek the high court to stay its order, the Maharashtra government, on Tuesday approached the Supreme Court to challenge the Bombay High Court verdict of acquitting all those accused in the case, reported news agency PTI.&nbsp;

The case stems from accusations against Saibaba and five others for alleged Maoist links and supposedly indulging in activities amounting to waging war against the country.

The recent verdict comes after another bench of the high court acquitted Saibaba, in 2022, saying that the trial proceedings were “null and void” in the absence of a valid sanction under the UAPA.

At the time, the Maharashtra government, on the same day, had moved the Supreme Court to challenge the decision. The apex court had initially set aside the high court order and ordered it to hear the appeal filed by Saibaba again.&nbsp;

Home prices in India are anticipated to see a steady ascent of 7 per cent this year and the next, propelled chiefly by the boost in purchases of luxury properties, according to a recent survey conducted by Reuters.

Analysts participating in the poll highlights the persistent gap between the demand for affordable housing and its supply, a challenge expected to persist in the coming years.

Regardless of a series of interest rate hikes by the Reserve Bank of India between May 2022 and February 2023, the housing market has continued its strong growth, buoyed by the resilience of Asia's third-largest economy.

The housing market in India exhibited notable resilience in 2023, with home prices witnessing a 4.3 per cent rise, marking the fastest growth since 2018.

This growth trajectory has largely remained unaffected by the successive interest rate hikes imposed by the Reserve Bank of India.

However, while this surge in home prices denotes a flourishing market, it also exacerbates the challenges faced by economically weaker segments grappling with stagnant wages and poverty.

Aniket Dani, Director-Research at CRISIL Market Intelligence and Analytics, highlighted the emergence of an uptick in demand for luxury properties, primarily driven by high-net-worth investors.

Developers are increasingly directing their efforts towards launching premium projects, thereby intensifying the hurdles encountered by the affordable housing segment.

Addressing concerns regarding the disparity between demand and supply in the affordable housing sector over the next 2-3 years, opinions among experts remain divided.

While some anticipate the gap to remain unchanged, others foresee a widening gap, underscoring the persistent challenges faced by this segment.

Despite the efforts of the Reserve Bank of India to curb inflation through interest rate hikes, a post-pandemic surge in home purchases among high-income earners has propelled home prices upwards.

However, expectations of potential interest rate cuts in the upcoming year are anticipated to enhance affordability, potentially benefiting first-time homebuyers.

Vivek Rathi, national director of research at Knight Frank India, stressed on the potential impact of interest rate adjustments on affordability and demand dynamics.

The survey forecasts a discernible rise in home prices across major urban centers such as Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru, with respective increments of 6.0 per cent, 5.0 per cent, and 9.0 per cent projected for the current year.

These projections draws attention on the evolving landscape of India's real estate market, characterised by varying dynamics across different regions.

India: Mumbai records coldest March temperatures in years

Danish Parliament Speaker Søren Gade Jensen, currently on a visit to India, extolled the democratic values shared between Denmark and India. In an interview with WION's diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Jensen emphasised the significance of India's democratic stature, stating, "Denmark and India, Europe and India because we share the same values, we are democracies." He further underscored India's democratic prowess, highlighting, "I think it's amazing that nearly a billion people can have a vote in India...I think India sets an example for many developing countries to show that it is possible to have a democracy."

Jensen's remarks come amidst an upsurge in high-level visits between the two countries, with Denmark's Foreign Minister having visited India in February. Jensen's visit signifies the deepening ties and mutual admiration between Denmark and India. He also spoke on the early conclusion of India-EU FTA.

Here's the full interview:

WION: What will be the key focus of your India visit?

Søren Gade Jensen: First of all, I'm very honoured to be in India again. I've been here before when I was in the European Parliament as chairman of the parliamentary delegation to India. Now, of course, our friendship, and cooperation on transferring green technologies from Denmark to India, to strengthen our bilateral relations is of course very high on the agenda. But it's also important to stress that I think that we should have an even closer relationship between Denmark and India, Europe and India because we share the same values, we are democracies, India is the biggest democracy in the world, we share the same values on human rights, freedom of speech. I think that's very important in the years to come. Because so much is happening in the world right now. And I think that we should also reach out to India and say, hey, we are your friends. We are on the same journey as you are. In my view, if I come back in five years time, I really do hope that we have a free trade agreement between India and the European Union. I'm sad that we could not finalise it before your election but hopefully, we will have a free trade agreement in the years to come.

WION: Essentially, during your India visit you're going to meet a number of officials. What will be the key focus?

Søren Gade Jensen: Will discuss what has happened in India in the last few years. I'm very impressed when you read about what you have achieved. If you go into public health, a lot of people in India hundreds of millions have health programmes, you have done a lot if it concerns food programmes and education. India is developing very fast and of course, that is also something to be discussed with the high-ranking officials. I'm also very impressed that you have said that you will be carbon neutral in 2050. And you are really growing fast, you have an economic growth of more than 8% per year. You have inflation less than five so it's amazing what's happening in India right now.

WION:&nbsp;You're the Speaker of the Danish Parliament. Parliamentary engagement between the two sides, what kind of engagements or interactions do you plan to foresee? India is the largest democracy. It is proud of the fact. How does Denmark see that?

Søren Gade Jensen: Well, you know, first of all, I'm impressed that in a small country like Denmark, we can have high-ranking meetings. I mean, we have 6 million people. You are 1.4- 1.5 billion people. So that also shows that we are close friends otherwise we couldn't have those meetings, high-ranking meetings in Delhi. Now, of course I will also invite parliamentarians from India to Denmark. It will be an honour to receive people from India in my country. So, hopefully, we can also on the political level have all kinds of relationships. We can have even closer relationships because, you know, close relationships among people. That's where it makes the world go around at the end.

WION: India goes to elections in a few days time, and there will be an announcement perhaps in two or three weeks. This is seen as a dance of democracy. The largest number of humans going to polls is something magical in many senses. How do you see the Indian electioneering process, the democracy in works when it comes to India and of course, something that is marvelled across the world?

Søren Gade Jensen: I mean, I think it's amazing that nearly a billion people can have a vote in India, and it's a very good voting system you have, there's no fraud. And I think there's a very good example for other countries around the world. We must remember that today there are fewer people living in what we call democracy than 20 years ago. And I think India sets an example for many developing countries to show that it is possible to have a democracy.

WION: Talking about the FTA. So how optimistic you are that it will be something that will be concluded.

Søren Gade Jensen: When I visited India a few years ago, it was all about the free trade agreement. I met with the Minister of Finance, and the Minister of Trade, and I stressed that a huge majority of the European Parliament wants this to happen. Of course, it's not for me to negotiate, but I'm a great fan of the idea that we have a free trade agreement with India. And know that is difficult because at the end of the day, the devils are in the details and of course, there is also a lot to consider both in India and Europe. I really do hope that both the Indian and European sides will step up.

Team India has moved to the first place in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table after Australia defeated New Zealand in the first Test in Wellington. In the two-match Test series, Australia took a 1-0 lead against New Zealand with a 172-run win at the Basin Reserve, Wellington. Australia beat their trans-Tasman rivals in the series opener as Cameron Green smashed 174 runs and Nathan Lyon secured a ten-wicket haul, including a six-fer in the second innings. However, Australia's victory against New Zealand helped India reach the top of the WTC points table. World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 Cycle Points Table Here are the latest WTC standings for the ongoing cycle: Standings Team Played Won Lost Draw Points PCT 1 India 8 5 2 1 62 64.58 2 New Zealand 5 3 2 0 36 60 3 Australia 11 7 3 1 78 59.09 4 Bangladesh 2 1 1 0 12 50 5 Pakistan 5 2 3 0 22 36.66 6 West Indies 4 1 2 1 16 33.33 7 South Africa 4 1 3 0 12 25 8 England 9 3 5 1 21 19.44 9 Sri Lanka 2 0 2 0 0 0 How did India move to the top after Australia's win? New Zealand's defeat against Australia means they have 36 points in five matches. Their loss reduced their points percentage (PCT) to 60, below India's 64.58. Moreover, Australia stayed in third place despite the victory, even though their PCT went up from 55 to 59.09. The rest of the table remained the same. If India wins the five-match Test series against England in Dharamshala, they can extend their lead at the top. Their PCT will reach 68.51 if they win against England. If that happens, India will stay at the top even if New Zealand wins the second Test in Christchurch. New Zealand missed an opportunity to win the match against Australia. After having the Aussies at nine down for 267 in the first innings, New Zealand allowed Green to score his second Test century and then form a match-turning partnership of 116 runs with Nathan Lyon. This partnership helped Australia to score 383 runs. New Zealand's batting lineup struggled against Lyon's spin, with only Glenn Phillips able to apply himself. Though New Zealand fought bacl, conceding a 204-run lead in the first innings made it difficult for them. They were eventually all out for 196 in the fourth innings, despite a good innings from Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. This match marks the 11th consecutive Test where New Zealand have failed to beat Australia at home. They have lost ten games and had one draw since their win in 1993. India: BJP leader Jayant Sinha requests JP Nadda to relieve him from electoral duties

Sri Lanka on Friday (Mar 1) cancelled the contract with a Chinese firm and awarded the construction of three solar and wind hybrid power generation facilities to an Indian company.

The project was initially funded by an Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan; however, it is now backed by an $11 million Indian government grant. The contract with the Chinese company was temporarily scrapped two years ago the after Indian government raised concerns.

India has over the past few years grown skeptical of growing Chinese involvement in its neighbour states, a trend it has sought to counter with its own initiatives.

Indian company U-Solar, based out of Bengaluru, will now be taking over the contract. India's assistance "underscored the significance New Delhi attached to bilateral energy partnership", the Indian embassy said in a statement.

The three facilities will have a combined 2,230 kilowatts of renewable energy capacity and be located on islets near the northern city of Jaffna, not far from India's southern coast.

“The hybrid project combines various forms of energy including both solar and wind, towards optimising capacities,” a press release from the Indian High Commission in Colombo said.

The ban on Chinese vessels was seen as a big diplomatic victory for India, as well as a major setback for China.

Lok Sabha polls 2024: BJP releases first list of 195 candidates, PM Modi to contest from Varanasi

In a few days, the world will witness the Solar Eclipse of 2024, a highly anticipated celestial phenomenon set to unfold on 8th April. Enthusiasts of the night sky eagerly await this captivating event.

A Solar Eclipse occurs when the alignment of the Sun, Moon, and Earth leads to a temporary blockage of the Sun's rays. During this event, the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun casting its shadow upon the Earth's surface. This shadow, known as the 'path of totality', will sweep across a vast expanse of the Earth, offering a mesmerising spectacle for those fortunate enough to witness it.

Expected to span approximately 115 miles within its path, the Solar Eclipse of 8 April 2024, presents a rare opportunity. According to NASA, the occurrence of a total solar eclipse in a particular location is infrequent, with an average interval of about 375 years between occurrences.

Mark your calendars for Monday, 8 April 2024 when the total solar eclipse will make its journey across North America, traversing Canada, the United States, and Mexico. NASA predicts that the initial encounter with totality will occur along the Pacific coast of Mexico around 11:07 a.m. PDT. Subsequently, the eclipse's path will progress northeastward, with Texas experiencing totality at 1:27 p.m. CDT, followed by Maine at 3:35 p.m. EDT, before advancing into the Maritime Provinces of Canada.

For those eager to witness this celestial spectacle safely, it's crucial to adhere to safety guidelines. Ensure you have the correct timings and utilise specialised eye protection specifically designed for solar observation. Looking directly at the Sun without proper eye protection is hazardous, except during the brief total phase of the eclipse when the Moon entirely obscures the Sun's face. Certified solar viewing glasses or pinhole projectors are recommended for safe viewing, while solar filters should be used on telescopes or binoculars. Remember, safety is paramount during this extraordinary celestial event, so never gaze directly at the Sun without adequate protection.
