<p>Martin’s lawyer said in court documents that an old associate of Martin’s with connections to the mob told him the shoes had to be adorned with real jewels to justify their $1 million insured value.</p>

<p>Martin, who lives near Grand Rapids, said at an October hearing that he hoped to take what he thought were real rubies from the shoes and sell them. But a person who deals in stolen goods, known as a fence, informed him the rubies weren’t real, Martin said. So he got rid of the slippers.</p>

<p>Defence attorney Dane DeKrey wrote in court documents that Martin’s unidentified former associate persuaded him to steal the slippers as “one last score,” even though Martin had seemed to have “finally put his demons to rest” after finishing his last prison term nearly 10 years earlier.</p>

<p>“But old habits die hard, and the thought of a ‘final score’ kept him up at night,” DeKrey wrote.</p>

<p>According to DeKrey’s memo, Martin had no idea about the cultural significance of the ruby slippers and had never seen <em>The Wizard of Oz</em>.</p>

The bureau said a man approached the insurer in 2017 and claimed he could help recover them but demanded more than the $200,000 reward being offered. <p>Jones, along with his associate 39-year-old Don Lee Bennett, were subsequently arrested and charged with a third-degree felony of possession of a firearm by a felon. <p>"Patrick was always so lovely to me, so supportive at the beginning of my career. I carried with me some of the tattoos, we designed some tattoos in honour of him, just because I really loved him.”</p>

<p>The new Doug Liman-directed movie marks the acting debut of former UFC champion Conor McGregor.</p>

<p>A second petty offence, for violating closures and use limits, was dismissed by US Magistrate Judge Stephanie Hambrick.</p>

<p>The actor issued an apology on his Instagram account Thursday, saying he “made an impulsive mistake” while&nbsp;calling himself an environmentalist with “the utmost respect for and love of our natural world.”</p>

<p>“I deeply regret my transgression and offer my heartfelt apologies to all for trespassing in this sensitive area. Yellowstone and all our National Parks are to be cared for and preserved for all to enjoy,” Brosnan wrote.</p>

<p>He did not see a “no trespassing” sign when entering the thermal area to take a photo and did not hike in the immediate area, he wrote. Brosnan ended the message with “#StayOnThePath.”</p>

The clip shows the actor getting visibly upset with a fan who tried to take a video of him at the airport. In the video, Salman can be seen walking with his security team when a fan attempts to record him without seeking permission.</p>

<p>In the video, Salman is seen pointing his finger towards the fan and instructing him to turn off his phone immediately. Despite a member of his security team trying to intervene, Salman can be heard saying, "Keep your phone off!" The fan promptly puts down his phone and apologises.</p>
