While five&nbsp;terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit were arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.</p>

<p>According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, the five terrorists killed in the Kupwara district today were foreigners and had infiltrated recently from across the border. ''An encounter has started between terrorists and joint parties of Army &amp; Police on a specific input of Kupwara Police in Jumagund area of LoC of Kupwara district. Five (05) foreign #terrorists were killed in the encounter. Search in the area is going on,'' said Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir Police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This was the second operation by security forces in the area close to the Line of Control, earlier in the Macchil sector, two terrorists were killed by the forces in an encounter.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Gunmen killed a labourer named Deepu on May 29 and during the investigation, 5 terrorists belonging to JeM have been arrested by the Police. Police have also recovered arms and ammunition including one AK 47 Rifle from these terrorists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While speaking to the media, DIG South Kashmir Rayees Mohammad Bhat, said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted on May 30, and the investigation was conducted and all possible technical, human and scientific evidence was collected to nab the involved accused''.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to JK Police, they were informed that two persons namely Sehran Bashir Nadaf of Shirpora Deva Colony and Ubaid Nazir Laigroo of Shirpora New Colony have gone missing, and the area is situated in close proximity to the incident spot leading to suspicion of their involvement in the killing. While investigating the case two more people were arrested during a Naka check at Semthan-Tulkhan Crossing. It was they who led to the breaking of the case and naming the accused involved in the commission of the crime. The arrested accused accepted that they were associated with the Kashmir Freedom Force (KFF) an off-shoot of the Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit and had carried out the killing on the orders of JeM/KFF handlers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police solved the vase within 18 days of the incident and said that a major tragedy was averted as they were tasked to carry out more attacks.</p>

Five 'foreign' terrorists gunned down in early morning encounter in India’s Jammu and Kashmir

<p>Police in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (May 4) gunned down gangster Anil Dujana who is an accused in 18 cases of murder. The encounter took place in a village in Meerut District&nbsp;in the western part of Uttar Pradesh. The police said that the gangster opened fire at the police Special Task Force (STF) which retaliated. The gangster's car crashed into a pole. Dujana was recently released from prison on bail.</p>

<p>The encounter took place on the day when polling for the first phase of urban local body elections was taking place in the state. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's major poll plank has been its "strict" handling of law and order.</p>

<p>Days earlier, gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad's son Asad Ahmad and his accomplice were shot dead in an exchange of fire with the Uttar Pradesh Police. A couple of days later, Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf Ahmad were gunned down in Prayagraj by three men while they were being escorted to a hospital by the police.</p>

<p>"Anil Dujana, a wanted criminal, was surrounded by our team led by Additional SP of UP STF Brijesh Singh, in a village in Meerut on Thursday afternoon. He fired at our team to escape and was killed in retaliatory firing." said Additional Director General of Uttar Pradesh STF Amitabh Yash.</p>

<p>Special DG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said that a case of extortion was also lodged against Dujana at Dadri Police Station of Gautam Buddh Nagar.</p>

<p>The officer said the state police have been keeping tabs on 65 gangsters, including Dujana.</p>

<p>"According to preliminary information, Anil Dujana was going to meet some of his gang members. The SUV he was travelling in collided with an electric pole after being surrounded by the STF team," Kumar said.</p>

<p>As per police records, both the killed terrorists had recently joined terrorist ranks and were planning to carry out a terrorist attack in the area, which was timely neutralised.</p>

<p>ADGP Kashmir congratulated the joint team of police and security forces for conducting a successful operation without any collateral damage and termed it a big success as the killed terrorists were planning to carry out terrorist attacks in the area.</p>

<p>This is the second operation in the last 24 hours in the Kashmir Valley. Four&nbsp;terrorists have been killed in these two operations in the Valley ahead of the G20 meet to be held in Srinagar. The union territory has been put on high alert.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three accused have been identified as&nbsp;Lavlesh Tiwari (22), a resident of Banda, Mohit alias Sunny Singh (23) of Hamirpur and Arun Maurya (18) of Kasganj.</p>

<p>The three were apprehended seconds after shooting dead the dreaded gangsters at point-blank range in full camera view as they threw their firearms on the ground and raised up their hands to surrender. The whole incident was caught live on camera, and its videos —&nbsp; some very chilling ones — spread like wildfire on social media.</p>

<p>During the cross-firing&nbsp;as the three assailants opened fire from different directions, Tiwari and a police constable Maan Singh suffered bullet injuries.</p>

<p>According to police, the three executed their plan by posing themselves as media persons, carrying a camera and mic. It ensured them easy access to Atiq and Ashraf while they were being escorted for medical examination.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After questioning Tewari, Sunny and Maurya, police said that the three assailants claimed that they&nbsp;decided to execute the murder brazenly&nbsp;in public to get fame and wanted to leave their mark in the world of crime.</p>

<p>The names of at least two of them already figure in the crime records of police stations in the state of Uttar Pradesh.</p>

<p>“He was a resident of Kurara, and was normal when he was young. He went to jail after a brawl, after which his mentality changed and he entered the world of crime. After a few incidents, he left Kurara. He was in Hamirpur jail for about a year," he said.</p>

<p>Neighbours of Arun Maurya in Kasganj are in complete disbelief. His parents died when he was young, and his brother is into scrap business in the national capital Delhi.</p>

<p>None of the villagers knows what Maurya did and where he lived. He too appeared to have left the village about a decade ago and never returned.</p>

<p>Police have charged the three men for murder and attempt to murder, as well as under the Arms Act. At least two firearms were recovered from the site of the shooting.<br />

However, police sources said that the three had used highly sophisticated, semi-automatic Zigana pistols produced by Turkish firearm manufacturing company TISAS. The said pistols are illegal and banned in India. Since the price of these pistols is around Rs 6 to 7 lakh ($8,553), it is not yet known how they managed to procure them and leads to the suspicion that someone else was behind the killings.</p>

<p>"There was unusual movement of a truck in the area. Police stopped the truck at a check post. As security forces started searching the truck, terrorist hiding inside fired at security forces. All the terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire," Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of police, said.</p>

<p>While the terrorists were all killed, the truck driver was able to escape and the police told reporters that they are conducting search operations in the nearby villages. The ammunition recovered from the truck included seven AK rifles, one M4 carbine, three pistols and other weapons.</p>

<p>One person was detained with the police recovering a coded sheet and letter pad page belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group.<br />

Two LeT terrorists killed in encounter near Amarnath yatra route

<p>Two suspected bank robbers were killed in a shootout with police in western Canada on Tuesday (June 28). The encounter left six police officers injured. Local authorities said that a possible third suspect was still missing.</p>

<p>"This remains an ongoing police incident with the heavy police presence in the area," said Saanich police chief Dean Duthie at a press conference.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, an evacuation order was issued for the buildings surrounding the bank because of a suspected explosive device found in the suspects' vehicle.</p>

<p>The day's events will "shake a lot of people," said Duthie, adding that federal police had been called to assist.</p>

In the ensuing encounter, a categorized terrorist identified as Rasiq Ahmed Ganie resident of Shouch Kulgam of proscribed terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen&nbsp;was killed and his body was retrieved from the site of the encounter,'' said Jammu and Kashmir Police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per police records, the killed terrorist was involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on&nbsp;police/security forces and civilian atrocities.</p>

One terrorist killed in Pulwama encounter, forces lead cordon and search operation

<p>The 46-year-old Gonzalo Lopez, a Texas inmate suspected of murdering five people after he escaped from a prison bus was killed by authorities on Thursday.</p>

<p>He escaped the prison bus on May 12 after stabbing the bus driver and later he killed a family of five and stole their truck from a rural weekend cabin.</p>

<p>Lopez was killed about 10:30 pm Thursday in Jourdanton, Texas, about 35 miles (55km) south of San Antonio, said Jason Clark, spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.</p>

<p>“Law enforcement in Atascosa county located the stolen vehicle disabled it with spike strips, and gunfire ensued,” Clark said in a statement. No officers were injured, he said.</p>

<p>Lopez crashed the vehicle and then engaged in a firefight with officers, he said.</p>

<p>"He fired several rounds at officers and was armed with an AR-15 and a pistol," Clark said, adding they believe the firearms were likely stolen from the home in Centerville where the family was killed.</p>

<p>The officers fired at Lopez and disabled the bus by shooting the rear tire, the department said. The bus then travelled a short distance before leaving the roadway, where Lopez got out and ran into the woods.</p>

<p>Lopez had been convicted of capital murder, attempted capital murder and aggravated kidnapping, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was serving two life sentences for those convictions.</p>

<p>Authorities had said Lopez was allegedly affiliated with the Mexican Mafia.</p>

<p>Police officers said that top the Pakistani LeT terrorist commander Haider was among the terrorists killed in the encounter and called it a big success.</p>

<p>Both were involved in the recent killings of civilians and police personnel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police were acting on specific information on the presence of terrorists in the Cheyan Devsar area of Kulgam, following which the police and army jointly launched a cordon and search operation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“In the ensuing encounter, 2 terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT, including a Pakistani terrorist commander Haider, were killed and their bodies have been retrieved from the site of encounter. The other killed terrorist has been identified as Shahbaz Shah of Kulgam,” said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir.</p>

<p>The police found arms and ammunition including, an AK-56 rifle with four Magazines, a Pistol, a UBGL grenade launcher, and ID Cards from the site of the encounter.</p>

<p>As per police records, deceased Haider was active for more than two years in North Kashmir and had recently shifted his base to South Kashmir.</p>

<p>He was involved in several terror crimes, civilian atrocities and various killings, including that of police personnel Mohammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad on November 10, 2021, at Gulshan Chowk, Bandipora.</p>

<p>Besides, he was also involved in an attack on a police party near Nishat Park Bandipora on February 11 this year, in which special police officer Zubair Ahmad was killed while four personnel were injured.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The other killed terrorist Shahbaz Shah was a hybrid terrorist and was involved in the killing of a civilian Satish Kumar Singh on April 13 this year at Kakran area of Kulgam” Kumar said.</p>
