The lawsuit contended: "Musk's conduct simply confirms that he wants to escape the binding contract he freely signed, and to damage Twitter in the process. Twitter has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable harm as a result of defendants’ breaches."&nbsp;

Twitter argued that no financial damages could repair the damage he has caused.&nbsp;

A day before, Twitter attorneys in a letter told Musk's lawyers that the micro-blogging site has breached none of its obligations under the agreement.&nbsp;

It added, "Twitter demands that Mr. Musk and the other Musk Parties comply with their obligations under the Agreement, including their obligations to use their respective reasonable best efforts to consummate and make effective the transactions contemplated by the Agreement."&nbsp;

According to several US media, Twitter has hired prominent New York law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen &amp; Katz. Twitter declined to comment to AFP.

After the news broke, Musk tweeted: "They said I couldn't buy Twitter. Then they wouldn't disclose bot info. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose bot info in court," accompanied by pictures of him laughing.

For analyst Dan Ives at Wedbush Securities, "this is a 'code red' situation for Twitter and its Board as now the company will go head to head against Musk in a Game of Thrones court battle."

"We see no other bidders emerging at this time while legal proceedings play out in the courts."

"Going forward, we won't do a spin start&nbsp;test&nbsp;with all 33 engines at once," he said on Twitter.

The&nbsp;booster&nbsp;remained standing upright, bolted to a&nbsp;test&nbsp;gantry afterward.

In late 2020 and early 2021,&nbsp;SpaceX&nbsp;lost four prototypes of the Starship itself in a series of high-altitude&nbsp;test&nbsp;launches when the return landing attempts ended in explosions. The Starship prototype finally made a safe touchdown in May 2021.

As reported by AFP, Rick Geddes, a transport infrastructure expert at Cornell University in the United States, who compared the excitement to the early days of aviation, said, "The transportation network has not had a new mode for over 100 years." And, nobody has come close to making the hyperloop work.

"It made me really excited to see what the possibilities were," he told AFP. He is now chief engineer of Delft Hyperloop, a non-profit university spin-off.

He now predicts the first city-to-city track within five years but won't divulge the location. Geddes is also optimistic about the future, though he also reflected that past promises weighed heavy. "We used to say five to 10 years," he said. "That was five years ago. Maybe it's five to 10 years now."

The purchase, which was revealed in an April 4 regulatory filing and gave him a 9.2 per cent stake in the company, sent Twitter shares soaring and sparked speculation that Musk was seeking an active role in the social media company's operations. It also earned him a seat on the board. CEO Parag Agrawal announced the offer -- in a tweet, of course -- and called Musk "a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need."

But the honeymoon didn't last long, Agrawal said on April 10 that Musk had decided against joining the board, a move the Twitter CEO believed was "for the best." Rather than amicably parting ways, Musk launched a hostile takeover bid for the company, offering $54.20 a share, an April 13 filing showed. After saying it would "carefully review" the offer, Twitter adopted a "poison pill" defence, announcing a plan that would allow shareholders to purchase additional stock.

Then came the plans for a walk down the corporate aisle, the big day of 'engagement', Twitter reversed course and said on April 25 that it was selling to Musk in a deal valued at $44 billion. But weddings can be expensive, so Musk took action to cover the cost, parting with $8.4 billion in shares in electric carmaker Tesla. He pledged up to $21 billion from his personal fortune, with the rest financed by debt. Musk was already planning his new life with Twitter, saying a few days later that he would lift the ban on Donald Trump, which was handed down after the January 2021 riot at the US Capitol by the then President's supporters.

But he was hazy on issues such as potential layoffs and free speech limits. It all came crashing down on July 8, when Musk called off the 'wedding' and accused Twitter of making "misleading" statements about the number of fake accounts. The breakup between the billionaire and the social media platform is set to be far from friendly. In the latest Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, Musk’s lawyers said that the billionaire will not be going forward with the takeover due to concerns over fake users. While Twitter puts the number below five per cent, Musk was of the opinion that it was around 20 per cent of total users.

In the initial deal, both parties agreed on a termination fee in case the deal does not go through and as a result, Musk is currently in breach of the terms, and he will have to play $1 billion to Twitter.

Earlier, an internal memo sent by Twitter general counsel - Sean Edgett - told staffers to “refrain from Tweeting, Slacking, or sharing any commentary about the merger,” and that management would be “very limited on what we can share”, according to several media outlets.

Twitter threatens to sue after Elon Musk pulls out of $44 billion deal

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has officially terminated his $44 billion takeover deal for social networking site Twitter over concerns about the number of fake users. Musk said on Friday that the decision was taken after Twitter failed to provide necessary information about the fake accounts. The takeover was dragging on for quite some time and after Musk expressed his concerns, the share prices went down almost 7 per cent in the past few weeks. According to the SEC filing, lawyers said that Twitter did not provide Musk with the necessary information despite multiple requests from their end.

"Twitter is in material breach of multiple provisions of that Agreement, appears to have made false and misleading representations upon which Mr. Musk relied when entering into the Merger Agreement," the filing said according to Reuters.

According to experts, this can result into a long-drawn legal battle between Musk and Twitter as the terms of the deal stipulated a $1 billion break-up fee if he does not complete the transaction.

Earlier, Musk maintained that the deal is being delayed by concerns about the fake users. During his speech at the Qatar Economic Forum last month, he said that his team is working towards the deal.

In the documents submitted in court, she said "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."

Elon Musk secretly welcomed twins with one of his top executives: Reports

Just a day&nbsp;after Elon Musk's email to Tesla executives about a 10 per cent job cut and how he feels 'super bad' about the US economy got leaked, US President Joe Biden in what could be seen as a rare rebuke responded "Lots of luck on his trip to the moon".&nbsp;Biden made the remark while speaking to the press on the stronger-than-expected job growth in the United States in May as he also brushed aside criticism of his handling of inflation.

President Biden and the Tesla CEO have long shared a frosty relationship.&nbsp;Musk has in the past complained that the Viden administration has “done everything it can to sideline and ignore Tesla".

On Friday, when asked by reporters to remark on Musk's comments about United States' economy, the President said that while the Tesla CEO is talking about that companies such as Ford are looking to hire more people as they invest in electrical vehicles.

"The former Chrysler Corporation, they also are making similar investments in electric vehicles. Intel is adding 20,000 new jobs making computer chips. So, you know, lots of luck on his trip to the moon.”

Following Biden's "wishes" the billionaire Musk tweeted "Thanks Mr President!" adding to his tweet a link to NASA's April 2021 award of a $2.9 billion contract to SpaceX for the development of a vehicle to transport astronauts to the Moon.

On Thursday, Musk wrote in an email to Tesla executives that he had a bad feeling about the economy and that the company needed to make a 10 per cent job cut.

Inflation in the United States is near 40-year highs, resulting in a significant increase in the cost of living for Americans. However, the US President said that believes that the latest batch of solid employment figures shows the United States can confront inflation while maintaining healthy economic growth.

Highlighting the US economy's durability in the face of rising consumer costs Biden remarked,&nbsp;"We've laid an economic foundation that's historically strong".
