According to a recent report, social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has retracted from its previous move of slowing down access to a few of the top news outlets. However, the delays in accessing links to other social media competing platforms like Bluesky, Facebook, and Instagram continue to remain. This alleged deliberate delay, which lasted approximately five seconds upon clicking a link on X, was observed during tests conducted by The Washington Post and Reuters. However, as of late Tuesday, X seemed to have eliminated this delay. Despite confirmation of the removal, there was no comment by X.

Billionaire Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter in October, has previously engaged in public disputes with news organisations and journalists who have critiqued his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.
ABC Australia released a statement saying that it will shut down all of its official accounts on Elon Musk's X, formerly known as Twitter, citing high costs and "toxic interactions" on the microblogging social media platform as the reasons behind the closure.

Managing Director David Anderson made an announcement saying that aside from ABC News, ABC Sport, ABC Chinese and ABC Australia, will also shut their official accounts down from Wednesday.

ABC Australia exits Elon Musk's X, cites high costs and 'toxic interactions'

Musk vs Zuck cage fight is getting thrilling. Not only Musk & Zuckerberg is getting prepped up. 'Body Doubles' are also getting ready for some action.

Musk vs Zuck cage fight: Elon Musk's Chinese double is also training for a fight. Here's why

Elon Musk is often considered the notorious kid of the tech industry after launching a perfume called burnt hair, a flamethrower and a cyber truck-shaped dog whistle for thousand doge-coins musk is back with another quirky product.

Tesla cat beds: Musk's wildest product to date

Elon Musk's Tesla has taken an eccentric turn by introducing a novel cat bed in China, known as the "Cybertruck multifunctional corrugated cat litter."

This peculiar offering, crafted entirely from cardboard, mimics the design aesthetics of Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck, reported the New York Post.

Priced at 89 Chinese Yuan (approximately $12), the cat bed's design emulates the distinctive angles seen in Tesla's anticipated electric vehicle.

The product listing on Tesla's Chinese website highlights the bed's "futuristic shape" and "semi-open cat litter," providing a practical yet stylish option for cat owners.

Unique features and assembly

The cat bed comes complete with a built-in "scratch board," composed of robust and moisture-resistant corrugated paper.

As a DIY item, owners are required to assemble the bed, engaging in a creative process that adds a personal touch to the pet's living space.

Tesla's tradition of unconventional products

Tesla's venture into the realm of quirky merchandise is not new. The company has a history of introducing unrelated products alongside its core electric vehicle offerings. Examples include the "Tesla Tequila," a premium liquor with a price tag of $420 per bottle, and the stainless steel "Cyberwhistle," purchasable exclusively with dogecoin, Musk's favoured cryptocurrency meme token.

Additional offbeat items in Tesla's catalogue include a $100 "Giga Texas Belt Buckle" adorned with the phrase "Don't mess with Tesla," a $60 Tesla umbrella, and a $70 Tesla branding iron.

Elon Musk's penchant for unconventional products extends beyond Tesla. The Boring Company, his tunnel-construction public transit enterprise, gained attention in 2018 by selling $500 flamethrowers that swiftly sold out.

Tesla's debut Cybertruck recently rolled off the production line at its Austin plant, marking a significant milestone after encountering several years of delays. Musk vs Zuck | Musk says 'may need surgery' before the epic cage match

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has clapped back at Elon Musk and X, formerly known as Twitter, after Musk announced in the early hours of Sunday that the "Musk vs Zuck" fight will be live-streamed on the rebranded platform.

“Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?” Zuckerberg replied to Musk on Threads.

Zuckerberg may have been referring to the dodgy quality of live streams on X, which even Musk has mentioned needs upgrading. Last week, Musk did a 53-second impromptu live to see if there had been improvements in the live streaming since he first raised the issue.

Regarding the fight, the Meta boss said he was prepared to enter the ring any day, but Musk had not agreed to the dates up until now.

“I’m read today,” Zuckerberg said on Threads. “I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath.”

He continued, “I love this sport and will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here.”

Not holding my breath.” He continued, “I love this sport and will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here.” Post by @zuck View on Threads × Also read | It's on: Elon Musk shares details of fight with Zuckerberg, to be live streamed on X Notably, Musk dispelled speculations about the fight being cancelled when he said it will be live-streamed and all proceeds will go to the charity. “Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X.
Elon Musk announced that his social media platform X, which was earlier named Twitter, will clear all the legal bills and file cases on behalf of the users who are being treated unfairly by their employers because of liking or posting something on the site.
"If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill," said Musk, in a post on X late on Saturday (August 5), further stating that no limits will be placed on funding the bills.

"And we won't just sue, it will be extremely loud and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too," Musk stated later while responding to a post about nothing changing behaviour faster than a fear of legal action in the US.

Govt asks Tesla to copy Apple’s strategy to make in India: Report

Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, sued a non-profit research group, on Monday (July 31) which investigates hate speech on the social media platforms alleging that they pushed false claims and encouraged advertisers to pause investment on the platform.

X’s accusations

The lawsuit was filed in a United States district court in Northern California where X alleged that the American and British operations of the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) “engaged in a series of unlawful acts” and “improperly” accessed “protected X Corp. data.”

This comes a day after American media reported that the Elon Musk-owned social media platform sent a letter to the organisation and threatened to sue the non-profit for unspecified damages.

The social media giant also accused CCDH of researchers violating its terms of service as well as breach of contract, violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and intentional interference with contractual relations, in a “scare campaign to drive away advertisers,” with “incendiary claims”.

The microblogging platform also asks that CCDH be barred from accessing materials licensed to a tool that, according to Musk’s lawyers, was allegedly used by the group to obtain the data used for the report.

CCDH report about X/Twitter

Musk, who is a self-described free-speech absolutist, as per reports has welcomed back white supremacists and election deniers to the platform after his takeover and reinstated previously banned accounts.

The lawsuit stems from a report by Bloomberg published in July which cited findings from CCDH’s research and said that hate speech had increased towards minority communities on X.

The organisation, which also studies hate speech, extremism and harmful behaviour on social media platforms including X, TikTok and Facebook, has published several reports critical of Musk’s leadership after the takeover. It has also documented an increase in anti-LGBTQ hate speech as well as climate misinformation.

However, as per American media reports, X’s attorney cited a report from June that showed that the microblogging platform failed to remove neo-Nazi and anti-LGBTQ content from verified users that violated its rules.

The CCDH report in June said Twitter had failed to take action against 99 of the 100 paid accounts the organisation had flagged with user-reporting tools for hateful conduct, among which was an anti-Semitic post and a transphobic post.

In a recent statement, X and its CEO Linda Yaccarino labelled the report false and inaccurate, adding that it was based on “a collection of incorrect, misleading, and outdated metrics, mostly from the period shortly after Twitter’s acquisition.”

Musk declares an ‘open war’

In response to X’s letter threatening to sue the research organisation, CCHD hit back and accused the social media platform of “intimidating those who have the courage to advocate against incitement, hate speech and harmful content online,” adding that their allegations have no factual basis.

In an interview with The Associated Press, CCHD founder and CEO Imran Ahmed called the lawsuit an “unprecedented escalation by a social media company against independent researchers.” He added, “Musk has just declared open war”.

Rebranding, not renaming: Musk

Last month, Musk, surprising almost everyone, announced the decision to rebrand Twitter as 'X' and strip the social media platform of its iconic blue-bird logo. After a user wrote about the companies that had changed their name over the years, Musk responded and cleared it was not 'simply' a renaming process.

In a post on X, Musk said acquiring Twitter was to ensure freedom of speech as well as "act as an accelerant for X - the everything app."

"This is not simply a company renaming itself, but doing the same thing," Musk wrote, adding that Twitter had served its purpose and that it had evolved past its name.

In April this year, a filing in a federal court case in California also revealed Twitter had been renamed to X Corp. In the same month, Musk tweeted only the letter ‘X’ to his millions of followers.

The X connection

For a long time, Musk has been obsessed with the letter 'X'. The rebranding of Twitter to X is the culmination of a long-term desire of the billionaire. In 1999, Musk named his first venture X.com—an online banking and financial services platform. A year later, he was forced to step down as the CEO of that firm.

However, Musk persevered and 24 years later, he has the opportunity to use Twitter's existing mass user base to catapult his 'everything app' idea.

Some speculated at the time that Twitter and Apple may spar over the rule. However, it appears that both parties have found a solution rather amicably. Notably, X also changed its App Store tagline from “Let’s talk.” to “Blaze Your Glory!!”. Musk himself posted a tweet with the said tagline without any context. Blaze Your Glory!! — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 31, 2023 × According to a TechCrunch report, another app named X, which was using an invisible character in its name to get around Apple’s character limits, renamed itself to avoid any contest with the social media app. "We are not affiliated with Twitter/X and will soon give our app a new name," read the app's description on App Store. The app developers said they changed the name voluntarily and that neither Twitter/X nor Apple had reached out to them. Explained | Why is Elon Musk so obsessed with the letter ‘X’? Rebranding, not renaming: Musk Last month, Musk, surprising almost everyone, announced the decision to rebrand Twitter as 'X' and strip the social media platform of its iconic blue-bird logo. After a user wrote about the companies that had changed their name over the years, Musk responded and cleared it was not 'simply' a renaming process. In a post on X, Musk said acquiring Twitter was to ensure freedom of speech as well as "act as an accelerant for X - the everything app." "This is not simply a company renaming itself, but doing the same thing," Musk wrote, adding that Twitter had served its purpose and that it had evolved past its name. In April this year, a filing in a federal court case in California also revealed Twitter had been renamed to X Corp. In the same month, Musk tweeted only the letter ‘X’ to his millions of followers. Watch | Elon Musk rebrands Twitter to ‘X’ in brand overhaul × The X connection For a long time, Musk has been obsessed with the letter 'X'. (With inputs from agencies) WATCH WION LIVE HERE:

Did Apple tweak its rule to allow Twitter's rebranding to X on App Store?

The giant and illuminating ‘X’ sign atop the San Francisco headquarters of the company formerly known as Twitter was dismantled on Monday (July 31) morning, just days after it was installed, following complaints about its safety and lack of permit.

Will the tech giants not fight?

In an update that may leave some billionaire fans upset, it turns out the ‘fight of the century’ may not be happening after all. This comes after multiple social media exchanges between billionaire social media moguls Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg who had agreed to a “cage match” just over a month ago. However, the Facebook CEO during a recent town hall told employees that he was not sure if the fight was going to happen, reported Reuters.

What is this ‘cage match’?

In a series of social media posts and a chain of events that occurred in late June, the Facebook parent company Meta CEO and X owner, formerly known as Twitter, ‘agreed’ to a “cage match” against each other.

“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment,” Musk tweeted with a crying-laughing emoji.

A Twitter user replied to Musk saying he should be careful of Zuckerberg since the Facebook boss had been practising jiu-jitsu, a Brazilian martial art form.

“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” replied a cavalier Musk.

Though one would be forgiven to think it was all banter from Musk, Zuckerberg seemed game for the match. He posted a screenshot of Musk’s tweet on his Instagram story, saying, “send me location”.

Afterwards, another netizen posted Zuckerberg’s Instagram story screenshot to which Musk replied, “If this is for real, I will do it.”

On June 30, Musk also took to his microblogging platform and in a cryptic post, days after the online banter said, “Some chance fight happens in Colosseum.”

So what happened?
