The Internet has been consumed by one viral debate this week - how many humans would it take to beat one gorilla? More than 288 million have been debating the strange query which suddenly popped up and spread like fire on social media. Even Mr Beast, the YouTuber known for his high-on-adrenaline games, could not keep himself out of it. In fact, he wants 100 volunteers to test it out for themselves.
It all started when a user named DreamChasnMike on the social media platform X suggested that it would take 100 "dedicated" humans to overpower one gorilla. The user stated that if you take one angry gorilla and put it on the field to fight an army of humans, and if the latter is less than 100 in number, then the gorilla would win.
However, this is not the first instance of the question on the internet. The first time it was asked was five years ago on the discussion forum Reddit.&nbsp;

The question has taken on a life of its own now, with experts pitching in with their rationale and explanations, podcasts taking a hit at the viral question, and celebrities quipping in on what they think.
Mail Online reported that world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk was recently asked the gorilla vs humans question, and he is confident that he would win a boxing match with a silverback mountain gorilla. During an interview on TalkSPORT, the 38-year-old Ukrainian fighter even suggested that his ten-year-old son Mykhailo, can beat the gorilla with his judo skills. He was obviously giving a humorous twist to the debate, and this just shows how much attention the question is gaining worldwide.

Mr Beast, or Jimmy Donaldson, had his own viral moment with the question when he joked, "Need 100 men to test this, any volunteers?"
One of those who joined in was Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who replied, "Sure, what&rsquo;s the worst that could happen?"
To help settle the debate, Encyclopaedia Britannica has released a "100 Men vs. 1 Gorilla Study Pack", which carries data on bone strength and muscle power of the two beings.
<h2>Some think one gorilla can kill everyone on the planet&nbsp;</h2>
The viral gorilla debate has divided the internet. Many people feel that 100 humans are more than enough to beat one gorilla, while others think that can never happen.
One user stated that the sheer number of hands proves that 100 humans can easily defeat a gorilla. "100 people equals 400 hands and feet."
The user further cited how ancient man hunted woolly mammoths, so how hard can it be to overpower one gorilla?
One user went a step further in favour of the gorilla, and said that one is enough to not only kill 100 humans, but everyone on the planet. "When standing, only three attackers are within reach. If you can continually fight off three, you can defend against an infinite number."
The question is expected to spiral further in the coming days. However, everyone is missing one important point - Gorillas are inherently peaceful animals. They are rarely aggressive towards each other and almost never fight.

Elon Musk plans to shift his political focus while preparing to become a prominent Republican donor in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. This move comes as he reduces his official Trump administration responsibilities based on information from four sources who have direct knowledge of the matter.
Musk announced his intention to spend less time in governmental roles at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) by working just one or two days per week beginning in May. His special government employee appointment must end in May because the 130-day limit on his temporary status will reach completion.
Sources indicate that despite reducing his daily involvement in government activities Musk intends to advise Trump informally and direct his efforts toward political spending and influence expansion. Through his platform X and substantial financial assets Elon Musk is predicted to make significant contributions in backing Republican political candidates across America.
One source who knows about Musk's plans affirmed that "Elon believes his finances together with media influence extend beyond his government responsibilities."

During his stint at DOGE, Musk executed substantial workforce reductions while dealing with increasing transparency issues and sustained conflicts with government officials at high levels. His frequent disputes included combats with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Secretary Marco Rubio for state and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Musk's relationship with Bessent reached its breaking point when he deleted her from being one of his followers on X while simultaneously attacking Peter Navarro who worked as Trump's trade adviser.
Musk's appearance created significant problems between him and the legislators who served in government. The recent town hall meetings in Republican districts have become hostile toward DOGE and Musk after members of Congress complained about program funding reductions in their areas.
Despite the turbulence, Musk remains a close Trump ally. He famously wielded a red chainsaw at February&rsquo;s Conservative Political Action Conference, calling it &ldquo;the chainsaw for bureaucracy.&rdquo; DOGE claims to have saved taxpayers USD 160 billion, though its figures have been marred by frequent errors and corrections.
Public sentiment toward Musk has cooled sharply. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 58% of Americans view him unfavorably, up from the mid-30s in 2022. Tesla&rsquo;s sales and stock price have declined, and protests have targeted Musk&rsquo;s political leanings and corporate influence.

The idea is eerily similar to Russian President Vladimir Putin's exhortation to Russian women to have at least eight or more babies.

Elon Musk is "pure evil" claims a Tesla whistleblower. Former Tesla employee and engineer Cristina Balan claims that she was fired by US President Donald Trump's advisor, DOGE chief Musk after raising safety concerns regarding Tesla cars.
<h2>Musk a 'vindictive monster'</h2>
Balan, as per a Mirror UK report, wants to take Musk to court. She claims that she had expressed worries about an alleged design flaw that could affect the Tesla car's braking, but was kicked out over it.

She once worked on the Tesla Model S, said she was forced to resign in 2014 after alerting Musk about a design flaw involving curling floor mats under the pedals, which she feared could impact braking.
On Thursday (Apr 17), a California court revived her defamation lawsuit against Tesla, which had previously been dismissed.
"He is pure evil," Balan told Times Radio. "I started this lawsuit to prove my innocence and to prove how vindictive this monster is".

Balan said she emailed Musk directly &mdash; as he reportedly encouraged employees to do &mdash; about serious issues, including "hundreds of defects per car." But instead of action, she said she was pushed out by Tesla's HR and legal teams.
"They forced me to resign. They told me that if I'm not resigning on the spot, they will deport my entire team, because the entire Tesla team, the entire interior team, was backing me up," Balan said.&nbsp;

"Tesla's plan and the legal department's plan was to convince the entire team and myself to close the investigation, the internal investigation that we opened in the company to fix a serious safety issue," she added.
The x-Tesla engineer claimed that "90 per cent" of employees who voiced concerns to Musk "got fired soon after".
<h2>Ongoing legal battle</h2>
Balan already won a wrongful dismissal case against Tesla. Now, her defamation suit &mdash; originally filed in 2019 &mdash; has been given a second chance by the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Tesla had accused Balan of using company resources for a "secret project," which would amount to embezzlement if true. Balan denies the charge and maintains her innocence.
Despite the recent court ruling, the case may still be delayed by arbitration due to a contract Balan signed while at Tesla.
Balan, who is in remission from stage-3B breast cancer, said her biggest fear is not getting her day in court.

Two hundred and fifty satellites stacked like pancakes on top of each other on a "launch bus" will soon be launched into space by a California-based company called SpinLaunch. This method doesn't require booster rockets and is environmentally friendly since greenhouse gas emissions are zero. With this innovative way to launch satellites, it is looking to compete with Elon Musk's SpaceX.&nbsp;
The flattened &ldquo;microsatellites&rdquo; will be launched into low-Earth orbit (LEO) using a giant centrifugal cannon and will be the first to simultaneously send so many satellites into space. The cannon accelerates spacecraft at incredible speeds.

SpinLaunch's Meridian Space constellation is gearing up to launch the first batch of pancake-like satellites as soon as next year. These microsatellites are 7.5 feet wide and weigh approximately 70 kg. The satellites will be put on top of one another like pancakes in a &ldquo;launch bus", which will make them much lighter.
<h2>Spinning arms launch satellites at 8,046 km/hr</h2>
The process involves a vacuum-sealed chamber and spinning arms that accelerate payloads. The objects are spun at a speed of 8,046 km/hr and subject to forces as high as 10,000 Gs before being fired into the upper atmosphere. The Suborbital Accelerator was last used to launch 10 rockets into suborbital flight from New Mexico.&nbsp;
The main advantage of this launch method is that it will prove cheaper than the current ones and doesn't harm the environment. The monetary matter will improve in the future, the company has predicted, saying that missions could cost between $1,250 and $2,500 per kilogram. This is less than half the cost of SpaceX&rsquo;s Falcon 9 rockets.
Besides, it is more sustainable since no booster rockets are involved and there are no greenhouse gas emissions. This would also tackle the issue of space debris, a matter that has become a major concern in the past few years.
The company plans on expanding using a larger Orbital Accelerator, which could see up to five commercial payloads being launched into space daily. However, the sheer number can raise the risk of crashes in orbit.

The main advantage of this launch method is that it will prove cheaper than the current ones and doesn't harm the environment. The monetary matter will improve in the future, the company has predicted, saying that missions could cost between $1,250 and $2,500 per kilogram. This is less than half the cost of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rockets.

How many children does Elon Musk have? Officially, we know there are 12. Plus, the two other additions we recently learned about. But now it seems there might be many more of his offspring out there than the world is aware of. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Musk is trying to create what he calls a "legion" and often reaches out to women and solicits them to have his baby. He even donated his sperm to a Japanese influencer.
The revelations were made by rightwing influencer Ashley St. Clair, who claimed in February that she had given birth to the billionaire's son. The 26-year-old told the publication that Musk offered her a one-time payment of $15 million, as well as $100,000 a month in support, to keep quiet about their infant son named "Romulus". He reportedly used his fixer, Jared Birchall, to ensure that the pregnancy remained a secret. However, St. Clair went public with the news, and Musk lowered his financial aid.

The WSJ report also stated that, according to a report from Labcorp, Musk's "Probability of Paternity" was 99.9999%. Other reports suggest that a paternity test confirmed that "Romulus" was Musk's son. Earlier, Musk had said that he had given her child support "despite not knowing for sure" if the child is his.
<h2>Musk "solicits" women on X to have his children</h2>
Musk met St. Clair in 2023 after reaching out to her on X. According to the WSJ report, Musk does this quite often and has asked several of them if they were "interested in having his child." Musk reportedly messaged crypto influencer Tiffany Fong last November and asked her the same question. She declined.

<h2>Musk refers to his children as "legion"</h2>
The WSJ report further harps on Musk's obsession with the declining world population, something he has raised quite often in his interviews. The article makes an apparent reference that Musk wants to expand his family line and has often referred to his children as his "legion", a term linked to ancient Roman military units.

Some people said that he has recruited several women on X to have his children. He even tried getting all the women in his "harem" to come together in a place he has in Austin, Texas.
"Birchall was involved in acquiring the property for a compound in Austin where Musk imagined the women and his growing number of babies would all live among multiple residences, according to a person familiar with the matter," the WSJ report states.

The US Justice Department has arrested a lipstick-wearing man in connection with two suspected arson incidents in New Mexico, one happened in February in the Tesla Albuquerque showroom and another in March at the office of the Republican Party.&nbsp;
40-year-old Jamison Wagner is facing federal charges for these two separate attacks, according to a release from the Department of Justice.&nbsp;
Wagner was detained over the weekend, over charges of malicious damage or destruction of property by explosives or fire.&nbsp;

&ldquo;I can now report that on Saturday morning, our @FBIAlbuquerque team and the @ATFPhoenix arrested an individual who we believe to be responsible for the February arson attack on a New Mexico Tesla facility,&rdquo; FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X on Monday.
&ldquo;The evidence in this case stemmed from our ongoing investigation of the March arson attack on the New Mexico Republican Party HQ. Evidence recovered at the scene strongly suggests that this weekend, our brave agents prevented further planned arson attacks.&rdquo;

<h2>Who is Jamison Wagner?</h2>
Wagner, a resident of Albuquerque, was charged following a search at his home where the authorities found evidence linking him to the attacks.&nbsp;

In a low blow, DOGE and US President Donald Trump's immigration department have made the US Social Security Administration (SSA) falsely mark over 6,000 living immigrants as deceased.
The move, which has prompted legal action and internal clashes, was reportedly part of a broader effort under the Trump administration to push undocumented migrants out of the country, as per a report by The Washington Post.

According to internal sources and documents seen by The Washington Post, the decision led to the forced removal of Greg Pearre, a senior executive at the SSA&rsquo;s Maryland headquarters. Pearre had strongly opposed the plan, warning it was illegal, inhumane, and likely to affect innocent people. He had argued with Scott Coulter, the recently appointed chief information officer by Elon Musk, who backed the strategy.
Two days after the migrants were added to the Death Master File, a government record used by employers, banks and landlords, Pearre was dragged out of his office by security. The document includes names and Social Security numbers of deceased individuals, and being added to it effectively blocks a person from working or accessing key services.

<h2>Experts warn the move is illegal</h2>
Legal and immigration experts have raised alarm over the legality of this action. Labelling someone as dead strips them of the privacy and rights afforded to living individuals. Experts say this also amounts to falsifying federal records.
&ldquo;Social Security itself has acknowledged that an incorrect death declaration is a &lsquo;devastating&rsquo; blow,&rdquo; the report said. Individuals wrongly declared dead are suddenly cut off from work, benefits, and access to essential services.
&ldquo;You literally become financially paralysed,&rdquo; one expert noted.

The White House defended the action, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt saying, &ldquo;The Trump Administration is protecting lawful American citizens and their hard-earned Social Security benefits, and ensuring illegal immigrants will no longer receive such economic entitlements.&rdquo; She added, &ldquo;Anyone who disagrees with the common sense policies of this Administration can find a new job.&rdquo;
<h2>Warnings were ignored</h2>
Concerns within the SSA were raised in February when staff discovered that anyone with access to the database could mark someone as dead without needing a death certificate or medical proof. They warned this flaw left the system open to abuse and feared it could be used to target certain groups.
Despite internal discussions about requiring proof before marking someone deceased, no changes were made.
Soon after, 6,100 names, mostly Hispanic individuals, ranging in age from teenagers to people in their 80s, were added to the database. Among those affected were people with valid Social Security numbers who had lost legal status due to changes in immigration policy.
A White House official later claimed these individuals had ties to terrorism or criminal records.
Unions and advocacy groups have responded with legal action. In a court filing on Friday, they accused the SSA of violating a temporary restraining order. The order barred Elon Musk&rsquo;s DOGE Service from using any system that included personally identifiable information.

A Tesla set to be scrapped was smashed with baseball bats and sledgehammers in London. The event was organised by a UK- based group "Everyone Hates Elon". The project serves as a way for Musk's critics to vent their anger by destroying Teslas. The vehicle was smashed up to create an art piece "London vs Musk". It will be auctioned to raise funds for food banks. Watch in for more details!

Elon Musk: Tesla destroyed in London | Everyone hates Elon | Massive anti-Elon Musk protest

Tesla, the electric car maker owned by Elon Musk, has frozen new orders in China, amid an ongoing trade war initiated by President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs. The move came hours after Trump imposed 145 per cent tariffs on China, which reciprocated with 84 per cent duties on US imports.
This is a clear indication that Musk's businesses are suffering, particularly as China is the largest market for Tesla outside of the US. Tesla is already facing boycotts, with several cars attacked across the US and Europe over Musk's association with Trump as the head of DOGE, or the Department of Government Efficiency.

<h2>What did Tesla do about orders in China?</h2>
According to reports, Tesla will not initiate any new purchases for Model S and Model X cars, which are imported from the US. Orders will not be taken on Tesla's WeChat account.
These vehicles, built in the US, will likely face tariffs imposed by Beijing as countermeasures against Trump's reciprocal duties.

Tesla's Model S and Model X are costlier than the Model 3 and Model Y cars which are manufactured inside China.
Model S and Model X sales were only 5 per cent of Tesla's total sales in China.
China imported 1,553 Model X cars and 311 Model S cars in 2024, said Li Yanwei, an analyst with the China Auto Dealers Association.
<h2>Why is China important for Musk?</h2>
China is the largest market for electric vehicles and is Tesla's largest market abroad, second only to its home country of US.

Model 3 and Model Y cars are made at Tesla's plant in Shanghai and sold domestically in China, besides being exported globally to Europe and elsewhere. These models actually make up the bulk of Tesla's sales.
Musk has also kept good relations with China because of its dominance of lithium-ion batteries, the heart of electric vehicles.
<h2>Tesla has been doing well in China till the Trump tariff war hit</h2>
As of March this year, Tesla was third among electric carmakers in China. The number one is the Chinese BYD with 29.3 &nbsp;percent market share, while Tesla had 7.5 per cent.
In March, 74,127 Tesla vehicles were sold in China, which is an annual growth of nearly 19 per cent.

In 2024, Tesla's sales in China went up to a record of 657,000 cars, which was up 8.8 per cent on year.
But homegrown EV vehicle brands are slowly eating into its market share.
Shenzhen-based BYD last year beat Musk on global revenues.
<h2>Musk is increasingly irritated by the tariff war&nbsp;</h2>
Though Trump is his boss by way of him being also the leader of the federal agency DOGE, Musk has been increasingly restless about the tariff war.
The obvious reason is that countries where Musk exports Tesla could jack up tariffs for his cars.

Musk recently described Peter Navarro, Trump's counsellor for trade and a key architect of the reciprocal tariffs, &ldquo;dumber than a sack of bricks&rdquo; and &ldquo;truly a moron&rdquo;.
Navarro, for his part, called Musk a more &ldquo;car assembler&rdquo; and not a manufacturer.
Musk has said that Tesla has been impacted by the tariffs, with the share price down 50 per cent from its lifetime-high in December.
Musk is also not pleased that Trump is having a similar reciprocal tariff war with European Union countries, another key market for his cars.

Tesla officially launched in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, marking a new chapter in the company&rsquo;s global expansion after Elon Musk &rsquo;s troubled relationship with the kingdom. A Tesla Cybertruck and a redesigned Model Y sedan dominated a plaza dotted with palm trees, as the EV maker officially opened for business. A small crowd tried out the vehicles as a massive outdoor video screen showed a Cybertruck plowing through a dusky desert, leaving behind plumes of sand.

Tesla needs new customers: globally, it posted a 13 per cent drop in first-quarter sales, its weakest performance in nearly three years, driven by a backlash against Musk&rsquo;s role in the Trump administration, rising competition and an aging product lineup, beyond the refreshed Model Y. The Kingdom, a major investor in Tesla rival Lucid, aims for 30 per cent EV adoption five years from now, up from about one percent last year.

Local Tesla executives at the launch described plans to allow online ordering of vehicles, open pop-up stores in malls and to build Supercharger stations and service centers, but Musk did not show up in person or by video.

Saudi has a long way to go to hit its EV goals. The country's main east-west highway does not have a single charging station in the 900-kilometer (559 mile) stretch linking the financial and religious cities of Riyadh and Mecca. Saudi Arabia in 2024 had just 101 EV charging stations, compared with 261 in neighboring United Arab Emirates, a country with a third the population, data from Statista based on Electromaps showed. Tesla plans to put its first charging stations in three cities. Rival EV brands like China's BYD (002594.SZ), opens new tab and Zeekr (ZK.N), opens new tab, along with the Saudi Public Investment Fund-backed Lucid, already have Saudi beachheads.
The feud between Musk and the governor of the kingdom's sovereign wealth fund began when Musk tweeted in 2018 that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private after a meeting with the fund. That led to a lawsuit from investors when a bid failed to materialize. "You are throwing me under the bus," Musk wrote in a text to fund chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan, according to court documents. Shortly after the U.S. presidential election, Trump, Rumayyan, and Musk were all pictured together sitting in ringside seats at an Ultimate Fighting Championship event in an early signal that relations had healed.
