Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth, who is currently busy winding up the press tour of his new docuseries 'Limitless', has decided to take a break from acting. After completing the tour for the docuseries and fulfilling his commitments, he will be taking some time off from work to enjoy the company of&nbsp;his family, which includes his wife Elsa Pataky, daughter India and twin sons Tristan and Sasha. His focus will be his health until he returns to the sets for his next.&nbsp;

While speaking to Vanity Fair, he said, "Doing an episode on death and facing your own mortality made me go, ‘Oh God, I’m not ready to go yet.’ I want to sit and be in this space with a greater sense of stillness and gratitude."

“It really triggered something in me to want to take some time off. And since we finished the show, I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do. Now when I finish this tour this week, I’m going home, and I’m going to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife,” he continued.

While filming 'Limitless', Hemsworth got to know that he is eight to 10 times more likely than an average individual to develop Alzheimer's disease.

In the fifth episode of the docuseries, the actor met longevity physician Dr Peter Attia and underwent a series of genetic tests. During which Attia told Hemsworth, "We’ve got every blood test one can get. And you’ve got two copies of APOE4. A set from your mom and a set from your dad." For those uninitiated, APOE4 is the gene that has the strongest correlation to the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

During the episode, Hemsworth also revealed that his grandfather suffers from the disease. "He either doesn’t remember who we are, you know, his grandkids, but also even his own children, for years. It’s heartbreaking," Hemsworth said.

It`s been five weeks since `Thor: Love and Thunder` hit the cinemas in India and the makers of the movie are quite happy with the movie`s performance in the country. The film closed its fifth weekend recently and has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark!

`Thor` is the second Hollywood film to ever cross the magical figure of Rs 100 crores this year. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handles to share the news. According to him, the film earned Rs 79.07 cr in week 1, Rs 14.46 cr in week 2, Rs 4.34 cr in week 3, Rs 1.69 cr in week 4, and Rs 46 lacs in week 5.

The movie hit the theatres on July 7. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in lead roles. Recently, Chris Hemsworth revealed that his younger brother Liam Hemsworth was almost cast as Marvel`s Thor instead of him.

According to E! News, while promoting the latest instalment of the franchise, `Thor: Love and Thunder, the 38-year-old revealed just how close Liam was to playing the Mjolnir swinging character. While several recent Marvel Cinematic Universe projects have been exploring the Multiverse, the same isn`t the case with `Thor: Love and Thunder.

Chris told an entertainment outlet, "In this film, it`s not something we explore. But who knows if there is more in the future, as you say it has opened up multitudes of options we can head in or be taken in."

He stated he`d like his brother Liam to play an alternate version of Thor if the movies ever explore the multiverse, eventually.

"My little brother almost got cast as Thor. He was one of the first people who got right down to the wire on getting the part so, I don`t know, I could cross paths with him. That will be fun," Chris admitted.

Last month, during a show, Chris recalled not getting a call-back for the role after his initial audition. "I think my audition sucked. I think that was the response I got," he said.

Although Chris did not make it to the next round, Liam shortly after decided to pursue the gig--and impressively made it down to the "last five people" being considered." They were like, `Look, he`s great, but he`s a bit young.` My manager then said, `Well, he does have an older brother,` which was me," he explained, adding, "I came back in, re-auditioned a few times, and just had a different attitude.

But the film is not just disappointing, it is also an utter mess. There is, for instance, little harmony between several scenes -- so much so that they often appear as though they belong to their own movies. Did I enjoy it? The movie begins with Thor and&nbsp;Guardians of the Galaxy 

The last we saw of Thor, he was with the Guardians of the Galaxy and here we find him saving lives across the universe with them. A distress signal tells him&nbsp;about a being calling himself Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) killing gods around the universe. Gorr's next target is New Asgard, the settlement in Norway where the surviving Asgardians settled in the wake of their realm's destruction.

There,&nbsp;Thor gets the surprise of a lifetime. His old flame, Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, is now a Thor herself (or more precisely, Mighty Thor), and wields the reassembled Mjolnir. Her way of dispatching Gorr's baddies using the hammer&nbsp;has far more flair than Odinson had.&nbsp;There is an undercurrent of poignancy related&nbsp;to her newfound power -- her cancer that is lifted directly from the Mighty Thor storyline.

Thor, Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson,&nbsp;underused here), and the rocky Kronan warrior Korg (Waititi) team up to take down Gorr before he accomplishes his vow to obliterate every god.

Gorr, a villain with a point?

Now, Gorr, like every other good villain, has his reasons. Played by Bale with a suitably sinister air, bleached skin, and eyes that burn with hatred&nbsp;for anything divine, Gorr lived on a planet that gods forgot existed. His pleas for his family and people went unheeded. We find him cradling his dying young daughter in the film's prologue. He somehow gets his hands on the Necrosword, the one weapon that can kill any god in the universe, and makes the vow.

Of course, Gorr encounters Thor in his crusade of god killing. To get help, Thor and company visit Zeus, played by Russell Crowe as the Zeus we know from Greek myths -- vain, prideful, and hedonistic. Crowe clearly had fun with the role, and I hope to see more of him. After a quick yet spectacular action scene, the heroes learn that they will have to take on Gorr alone.

Lots to love in the film, but...

There are flashes of brilliance, of course. Waititi has a real eye for visuals. Like 'Ragnarok', 'Love and Thunder' is full of unforgettably dazzling imagery, and action is never less than interesting. It is hard to completely hate a film that has a thrilling&nbsp;final fight set to Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. The acting is great all around as well. Hemsworth could&nbsp;play Thor forever and I will not mind. Portman instills much-needed poignancy and a sense of stakes in an otherwise fluffy script. But 'Love and Thunder' also features Bale, and he unsurprisingly pretty much steals the film.&nbsp;

Like many things in this film, the script, by Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, does not give the character enough meat for Bale to do much. But then, it's Bale. He practically&nbsp;disappears into the role and devises a worthy adversary for the two Thors -- in both strength and principle -- a slimy force of nature single-mindedly determined to get his vengeance.

Despite Waititi being given more control this time (I assume), this feels crafted in the traditionally Marvel mould -- designed as per the good old formula that Kevin Feige et al has perfected over the last one and a half-decade. In other words, the film watches like your typical MCU movie.

And I get why Feige and&nbsp;the team persist with the formula. The formula where even scenes are serious and emotional, they&nbsp;are tinged with humour as though the writers are nervous about fans not being&nbsp;able to&nbsp;stomach all that sentiment.&nbsp;

The Marvel formula works, sadly

Because&nbsp;they are right. The fans love the formula, for it makes for a comfortable, unchallenging time at the movies. In the theatre where I watched the film, there were hoots at even&nbsp;hints of humour, but during those quiet moments where characters were sharing their feelings? Everybody looked uncomfortable, and there were tense whispers, clearly wondering when the onslaught of 'feels'&nbsp;will end.

A distress signal tells him about a being calling himself Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) killing gods around the universe. Gorr's next target is New Asgard, the settlement in Norway where the surviving Asgardians settled in the wake of their realm's destruction. There, Thor gets the surprise of a lifetime. His old flame, Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, is now a Thor herself (or more precisely, Mighty Thor), and wields the reassembled Mjolnir. Her way of dispatching Gorr's baddies using the hammer has far more flair than Odinson had. There is an undercurrent of poignancy related to her newfound power -- her cancer that is lifted directly from the Mighty Thor storyline. Thor, Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson, underused here), and the rocky Kronan warrior Korg (Waititi) team up to take down Gorr before he accomplishes his vow to obliterate every god. Gorr, a villain with a point? Now, Gorr, like every other good villain, has his reasons. Played by Bale with a suitably sinister air, bleached skin, and eyes that burn with hatred for anything divine, Gorr lived on a planet that gods forgot existed. His pleas for his family and people went unheeded. We find him cradling his dying young daughter in the film's prologue. He somehow gets his hands on the Necrosword, the one weapon that can kill any god in the universe, and makes the vow. Of course, Gorr encounters Thor in his crusade of god killing. To get help, Thor and company visit Zeus, played by Russell Crowe as the Zeus we know from Greek myths -- vain, prideful, and hedonistic. Crowe clearly had fun with the role, and I hope to see more of him. After a quick yet spectacular action scene, the heroes learn that they will have to take on Gorr alone. Waititi has a real eye for visuals. Like 'Ragnarok', 'Love and Thunder' is full of unforgettably dazzling imagery, and action is never less than interesting. It is hard to completely hate a film that has a thrilling final fight set to Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. The acting is great all around as well. Hemsworth could play Thor forever and I will not mind. Portman instills much-needed poignancy and a sense of stakes in an otherwise fluffy script. But 'Love and Thunder' also features Bale, and he unsurprisingly pretty much steals the film. Like many things in this film, the script, by Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, does not give the character enough meat for Bale to do much. But then, it's Bale. He practically disappears into the role and devises a worthy adversary for the two Thors -- in both strength and principle -- a slimy force of nature single-mindedly determined to get his vengeance. 'Love and Thunder' illustrates larger issues with MCU and the superhero genre But the film cannot recreate the magic that we saw playing out in the preceding film. The trouble, I feel, is that the film is missing that immaculate cocktail of intelligent, humour-laced writing and carefully crafted set pieces that made 'Ragnarok' one of the best MCU entries. Despite Waititi being given more control this time (I assume), this feels crafted in the traditionally Marvel mould -- designed as per the good old formula that Kevin Feige et al has perfected over the last one and a half-decade. In other words, the film watches like your typical MCU movie. And I get why Feige and the team persist with the formula. The formula where even scenes are serious and emotional, they are tinged with humour as though the writers are nervous about fans not being able to stomach all that sentiment. The Marvel formula works, sadly Because they are right. The fans love the formula, for it makes for a comfortable, unchallenging time at the movies. In the theatre where I watched the film, there were hoots at even hints of humour, but during those quiet moments where characters were sharing their feelings? Everybody looked uncomfortable, and there were tense whispers, clearly wondering when the onslaught of 'feels' will end.

After Zeus attacks Korg and disintegrates him (now only his head is alive), an enraged Thor attacks Zeus and the others steal Zeus' thunderbolt weapon.

But even the combined might of both Thors is not enough to take down Gorr. The God Butcher steals Thor's weapon, the Stormbreaker before they can escape. Stormbreaker would allow Gorr to summon Bifrost and reach Eternity, a cosmic entity that can grant any wish to the person that is successful in reaching it. And he would ask for all gods to die across the universe.

In the final act, Thor goes to stop Gorr and rescue the Asgardiang children who he had kidnapped from New Asgard. Chris Hemsworth's Thor is the only MCU superhero to get a fourth movie 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. While 'Captain America 4' is in development, it will feature a new iteration of the superhero, Sam Wilson played by Anthony Mackie, and not Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), so that doesn't count.&nbsp;

The reason for the very existence of 'Love and Thunder' is the popularity of the character and the willingness of Chris Hemsworth to continue with the character for more than a decade now.&nbsp;

But it was not always so. The God of Thunder has had a chequered journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until now and in the initial days, the superhero was not as loved as he is now.

Thor, unaware of Loki's treachery, travels to Jotunheim to confront Laufey with Asgardian warriors, including Loki, disregarding Odin's orders. The battle between the Asgardians and the Frost Giants rages on until Odin rescues Thor and others. The truce between the two races is broken.

Thor is stripped of his inheritance and even his powerful weapon Mjolnir and gets stranded on earth. Still physically powerful, but without powers that make him the god of thunder.&nbsp;

On earth, he meets Foster, an astrophysicist, her mentor Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård), and assistant Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings).&nbsp;

At Asgard, Loki takes control of the throne after Odin falls into Odinsleep, which recharges his powers. He also invites Laufey to take Asgard in Odin's indisposed state. Thor's allies, the Warriors Three, (Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun) find him on earth and a powerful automaton entity called the Destroyer is dispatched to take care of them.

Thor offers himself to the Destroyer instead, proving his worth and calling Mjolnir destroys, um, the Destroyer. He returns to Asgard and confronts Loki. In the ensuing duel, Loki seemingly dies, one of his many 'deaths' to come.

Thor agrees with Odin that he is yet to be ready for the throne.

'The Avengers' (2012)

Thor joins the other Avengers in the battle for the earth against the Chitauri army led by Loki, who is, indeed, alive. He and Tony Stark fight briefly over what to do with Loki, who does not appear to be too difficult to capture. Loki is captured, and causes a rift between the Avengers, who are scattered. At one point, Thor also fights the Hulk, proving almost equal to the Green Goliath in terms of raw strength.

Towards the end of the movie, he also takes on his brother and saves the people of New York along with the rest of the Avengers. He and Hulk together destroy a Leviathan, beasts used as weapons and means of transport by the Chitauri.

Directed by Alan Taylor, 'Thor: Dark World' introduces another ancient threat to the Asgardians, the Dark Elves led by Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). Loki is imprisoned in Asgard for his crimes in 'The Avengers'. An event called the Convergence is approaching in which Nine Realms align themselves. On earth, and elsewhere, portals to different worlds begin to appear as random. Foster gets transported to a dark world wherein she absorbs the Aether, the weapon of Malekith that he wanted to unleash in the times of Bor, the father of Odin.

Thor takes Foster to Asgard, where Odin spots the Aether. Malekith, who was in suspended animation all this while, rises due to Aether's release. Malekith and his top lieutenant Algrim search for Foster in Asgard. Frigga, Thor's mother, is fatally wounded but is successful in protecting Foster.

Thor and Loki travel to Svartalfheim, the home of Dark Elves, with Foster to lure Malekith and Algrim. In a battle, Loki "dies" protecting Thor.

The God of Thunder and Malekith battle in various worlds and finally on earth. He, Foster, Darcy, and Erik manage to send the Dark Elves kind back to Svartalfheim, where he is crushed by his own ship. Thor leaves the earth, and we see the "Odin" he said goodbye to is actually Loki in disguise.

'Avengers: Age of Ultron'

In 'Age of Ultron', Thor is found battling the Hydra forces to retrieve the Scepter that is somewhere in a research Base. After acquiring the Scepter (and facing Wanda and Pietro Maximoff), Tony asks Thor to let him examine the Scepter. He agrees.&nbsp;

Ultron, a rogue programme created by Tony and Bruce Banner, attacks and quickly takes over. While Thor and other Avengers kept destroying his body, he kept popping up in others. As Avengers bickered amongst themselves and tried to gauge Ultron's true intentions, Wanda messed with their minds. Thor was accosted by a vision of Asgard's destruction.

Tony and Bruce, meanwhile, created another AI being, this time Vision (Paul Bettany), a near-invulnerable android with Mind Stone as his source of power. The Avengers, including Vision, eventually fought and defeated Ultron in Sokovia.

The fight ends without a definite conclusion, and Thor, along with Bruce Banner, Loki, Valkyrie, an escapee from Asgard, and Thor's new friend Korg, got back to Asgard and fought Hela. But she still appeared undefeated, until Thor called Surtur, the fiery demon destined to destroy Asgard. He proceeds to do exactly that, and Hela also dies in the process.

Thanos and the Black Order capture Thor's ship, kill most of the Asgardians, torture Thor and kill Loki. Thor is saved by a dying Heimdall (Idris Elba). He joins forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy and goes to Nidavellir, the home of weaponsmith Eitri (Peter Dinklage) with Rocket and Groot to forge a new weapon since Hela had destroyed Mjolnir. He gets it thanks to Groot's much-needed help, and the three reach earth in the middle of the Battle of Wakanda. Thor makes quick work of the Outriders, and almost kills Thanos, but the Mad Titan is successful in snapping half of all living beings in the universe out of existence.

The clip recounts the journey of Thor Odinson through the perspective of Gorr the God Butcher, Christian Bale's character who is the main villain of the movie.
