Beyonce’s seventh album, 'Renaissance', has ushered in a great start as it topped the Billboard 200 chart not only in the US, but the singer’s new album is also ruling the official UK albums chart. Beyonce’s latest album has become her fourth solo No. 1 on the UK Chart and her first since ‘Lemonade’ outperformed its competitors in 2016.

All seven of the artist's albums have reached their top spots, but her latest release, 'Renaissance', is especially noteworthy because it has already surpassed all of Beyonce's previous albums' track records in every key market. Along with leading the US and UK charts, the album has debuted at the top of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Canada.

Previously, Beyonce had held the top spot in the national album survey with her songs such as 'Dangerously in Love' from 2003, '4' from 2011 and 'Lemonade', and as a member of 'Destiny’s Child with Survivor' in 2001. 'Renaissance', in Australia and the US, has sold 332,000 equivalent album units in one week. This is the biggest week of the year for any record released by a single female artist.

In the meantime, American singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers debuted in the top 10 of the Official Albums Chart at number six with her second studio album ‘Surrender’ (Polydor). Another new entry this week is Orbital’s '30 Something’ (London Music Stream), which peaked at No. 19 and is Orbital's first Top 40 success.

Additionally, 'Renaissance' has also surpassed her previous 2016 album, 'Lemonade,' by one spot and debuted at number two in Germany. The only difference between the positions of 'Lemonade' and 'Renaissance' was found in Switzerland, where 'Lemonade' peaked at Number Three and 'Renaissance' debuted at Number Three. There was only a slight decline in sales between the two singles.

Dua Lipa extends thanks after receiving Ambassador of Kosovo title from her homeland

In relation to traditional album sales, 'Renaissance' moved a total of 190,000 copies in terms of traditional album sales, including 121,000 of those sales were for CDs, while 26,000 were for vinyl copies and 43,000 were for digital downloads. Traditional album sales include full-album purchases across both physical and digital platforms.

Beyoncé's success on the charts extends beyond the top 200 albums as the first female artist to ever have 12 or more songs on the chart at once. Beyonce broke a milestone in 2016 when every song from her sixth studio album, 'Lemonade', reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Throughout her solo career, seven of her songs have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while 20 of her songs have peaked in the top 10.

'Renaissance' was billed as "Act 1" of the "three-act project" when it was released on July 29th, this year. Beyonce, ahead of the release of her new song, wrote on her website, "My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgement. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking."

The first single from the album was launched in June, ‘Break My Soul’.

This weekend, Beyonce rekindled nostalgia for her fans by releasing a brand new remix of 'Break My Soul,' which features an interpolation of Madonna's 1990 hit single 'Vogue.' However, it appears that Madonna did not record anything new for the remix beyond (possibly) a few spoken words, but rather had snippets of previously released, decades-old songs, particularly 'Vogue', Variety reported.

'Break My Soul' (The Queens Remix) is currently only available on Beyonce's online store for USD 1.29. The song will land in fans' emails upon purchase.

There is no current indication of whether the remix will hit streaming services. This marks the first official collaboration between the two queens of pop. Beyoncé referred to iconic black women in music, from Aaliyah to Nina Simone to her sister, Solange Knowles, emulating Madonna's classic 'Vogue' spoken-word section.

Of course, Beyonce also shouts out Madonna, who doesn't seem to appear on the track other than in the form of a `Vogue` sample. "Queen Mother Madonna, Aaliyah, Rosetta Tharpe, Santigold, Bessie Smith, Nina Simone, Betty Davis, Solange Knowles," Beyonce sings. "Lauryn Hill, Roberta Flack, Toni, Janet, Tierra Whack. Missy, Diana, Grace Jones, Aretha, Anita, Grace Jones."

According to Variety, Madonna first teased the collaboration on her Instagram account on August 4, sharing a snippet of the feisty chorus. The release comes after the unlikely duo joined forces at New York City Pride in June.

It was an experience that left a lasting impression on the rapper. "I wish that I can have this moment for LIFE," he wrote on Instagram, before profusely thanking the pop icon.

American singer-songwriter Beyoncé has decided to omit offensive lyrics from the track 'Heated' of her latest album 'Renaissance'.
Along with the artwork, Beyonce shared a note, that read, "Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. Queen B aka Beyonce has been teasing her fans with updates on her upcoming album 'Renaissance' since June 16. On Thursday, the diva unveiled the cover of her seventh studio album and shared a heartfelt note for her admirers. The cover shows the 40-year-old singer sitting atop a celestial holographic horse and is seen wearing an embellished metal bralet with thongs. Along with the artwork, Beyonce shared a note, that read, "Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking." "A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are." Seeing the cover, fans started speculating that the image is an homage to John Collier's 19th-century painting 'Lady Godiva'. Some even pointed out the cover's resemblance to a photograph of Bianca Jagger sitting on horseback at Studio 54. Beyonce surprised her fans a week ago by releasing 'Break My Soul' from her forthcoming solo studio album. The track channels `90s house music and features vocals by Big Freedia. Beyonce drops 'Renaissance' cover along with a touching note

American pop star Beyonce Knowles-Carter has surprised fans with an early release of her single ‘Break My Soul’ from upcoming album ‘Renaissance’, setting social media ablaze with song lyrics that some say tap into rising worker anger at conditions.

“I`m gonna find new drive / damn, they work me so damn hard / Work by nine, then off past five /And they work my nerves, that`s why I cannot sleep at night,” sings the artist, adding "I just quit my job."

Some commentators said the words channeled the post-pandemic "Great Resignation" in which businesses are struggling to find enough employees.

"Beyoncé saw that it was the summer of late-millennial burnout, the labor movement, ‘90s revival, and queer pride and was like, `Yeah, I can make a song about that`," wrote Patu Patel, editor-in-chief of music magazine Pitchfork on social media platform Twitter.

Knowles-Carter has not commented on the meaning of the lyrics.

The single was co-written by her husband Sean Carter (Jay-Z) and samples singer Robin S`s 1990s dance classic ‘Show Me Love’ as well as featuring gay American rapper Big Freedia`s song ‘Explode’.

The song debuted on Tidal, the streaming service co-owned by Jay-Z, and dropped at midnight EST (5am GMT) on June 21 on other major music streaming services, with an accompanying lyric video published on YouTube.

Knowles-Carter, 40, released ‘Be Alive’, her Oscar-nominated contribution to the soundtrack of the movie ‘King Richard’, in November 2021. She also launched the soundtrack album ‘The Lion King: The Gift’, with the songs appearing in both the ‘Black is King’ and ‘Lion King’ movies in July last year.

However, Renaissance (Act 1) is the artists’ first solo studio album since Lemonade was released in April 2016. The record will include 16 tracks and is set to launch on July 29.

She is the most nominated woman and the most awarded singer in Grammy Award history, winning a total of 28 awards and 79 nominations for her music, including her work in music group Destiny`s Child and ‘The Carters,’ an album co-released with her husband.

She is also the eighth-most awarded artist at the Billboard Music Awards.

Does Beyonce's new summer song channel the 'Great Resignation'?

Beyoncé has finally released her most-anticipated first single from her seventh solo album, ‘Renaissance’, after a span of six years. 'Break My Soul’ was previously announced to be released at midnight, but the new track was released three hours before the expected time on June 20. The dance track, which brings together the team of Single Ladies, including Tricky Stewart and The Dream, is already being declared a hit by fans who can't stop playing the song on loop. Everyone on the internet is raving about Beyonce’s song’s lyrics, ‘Break My Soul'. The words follow: "Release your anger, release your mind, Release your job, release the time, Release your trade, release the stress, Release the love, forget the rest."

Music streaming service Tidal dropped the song on Monday night along with a lyrical video on YouTube. The song has been written by the singer's rapper husband, JAY-Z, as well as Freddie Ross and Adam Pigott. Last Thursday, Beyonce confirmed that her long-awaited album will be released on July 29. While the fans wait for the full album, the new single appears to be a party hit, giving a vibe of disco beats and a 90s atmosphere.

Netizens have been hooked on the new soundtrack since its midnight release, and here's how the internet is reacting to it.

The words follow: "Release your anger, release your mind, Release your job, release the time, Release your trade, release the stress, Release the love, forget the rest." Music streaming service Tidal dropped the song on Monday night along with a lyrical video on YouTube. Beyoncé's new single 'Break My Soul' from album 'Renaissance' makes fans happy with its 90's vibe

Singer Beyonce surprise dropped her new single `Break My Soul` three hours before the announced release time from her forthcoming seventh solo studio album `Renaissance`.

Also in the writing credits are Jay-Z, Adam Pigott (a.k.a BlaqNmilD, who`s worked with Drake, Quavo, Megan Thee Stallion and many others), Freddie Ross, a.k.a Big Freedia, and the writers of Robin S`s 1993 hit `Show Me Love`, which is prominently sampled in the song, reports `Variety`.

For her part, Beyonce is on message with both her return and the disco theme of the song: The title is flipped by saying "You won`t break my soul".

It`s filled with dancefloor-friendly lines like: "Motivation/I`m looking for a new foundation/ I`m on that new vibration/ I`m building my own foundation" and a repeated exhortation of "Everybody".

In an apparent slight to major streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, the song initially appeared only on Tidal, the streaming service co-owned by Beyonce`s husband, Jay-Z, three hours before its announced release time.

Beyonce has a history of this: Her 2016 `Lemonade` album was available only on Tidal for three years, a move that likely cost her millions in streaming royalties, reports `Variety`.

Beyonce announced on June 16 that the long-expected album will be arriving on July 29.

Sources told `Variety` that the album will feature both dance and country-leaning tracks, the source says, with contributions from hit songwriter Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote her 2008 hit `Halo` as well as hits for Adele, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Bros. and his own group, OneRepublic.

Also said to be involved is Raphael Saadiq, who has crafted hits for Mary J. Blige, D`Angelo, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Andra Day as well as his own solo albums, and executive-produced a `Seat at the Table`, Beyonce`s sister Solange`s widely praised 2016 album.

It was unclear whether the country songs will appear as a separate album, or as part of the first edition of `Renaissance`.

Country is not new terrain for the singer: `Daddy Lessons`, from 2016`s `Lemonade`, is heavy on twang and was even covered by the Chicks (then known as the Dixie Chicks).

Fans have already sleuthed information suggesting that the album will contain 16 tracks, and the fact that it is a multi-part release is clear from the face that it is billed as `Act 1`.

Beyonce`s website also featured pre-orders on four different boxed sets for the album, billed `Pose` 1-4 and including a CD, T-shirt and a box. However, since they all ship on the day of the album`s release, it seems likely that they`re just different packages for `Act 1`.
Beyonce, Billie Eilish to perform at the Oscars 2022 stage

Beyonce and Billie Eilish will perform during Sunday's Oscars, but outspoken vaccine skeptic Van Morrison is skipping Hollywood's biggest night, organizers said Tuesday.

All three performers are nominated for best song at the 94th Academy Awards -- along with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Diane Warren, whose songs will also be performed on the broadcast.

Pop superstar Beyonce's Oscar-nominated ballad "Be Alive" was penned for tennis biopic "King Richard," which stars Will Smith as the father of tennis greats Serena and Venus Williams.

Hollywood trade publication Variety reported that Beyonce will perform live from the tennis courts in Compton where the sisters played as children. Organizers did not respond to AFP request for comment.

Eilish and her brother Finneas will perform "No Time To Die" from the recent James Bond movie.

But while Morrison, who wrote "Down to Joy" for Kenneth Branagh's black-and-white childhood drama "Belfast," was invited to perform at the star-studded gala, he "will not attend the Oscars due to his tour schedule," organizers said.

The singer, known as "Van the Man" to his fans, is due to tour England in late March, before arriving in the US next month for further dates.

Morrison's high-profile criticism of pandemic restrictions -- including three anti-lockdown "protest songs" -- and opposition to vaccine mandates had led to questions about whether he would be welcomed at the Oscars.

The ceremony taking place Sunday in Hollywood requires nominees, guests and press to be vaccinated, although performers and presenters are reportedly able to attend without proof of vaccine if they undergo rigorous testing.

Miranda's "Dos Oruguitas" from Disney animated movie "Encanto" will be performed by Sebastian Yatra.

Best known for creating Broadway sensation "Hamilton," Miranda will attain the coveted and rare EGOT status for winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award if he wins on Sunday.

Warren's song "Somehow You Do" from "Four Good Days" -- which will be performed by Reba McEntire -- is her 13th Oscar nomination, but she has never won.

Also performing at the Oscars will be an "all-star band" including Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, and DJ D-Nice.

Queen Beyonce turned 40! Marking the special day, the history-making Grammy winner took her website and shared several collages featuring her throwback photos. Covering every phase of her life, the photo album showed her in various outfits, different events that we have never seen before. Commemorating the four decades of her life, the whole website was changed into the big collage -- starting with her baby pictures to her latest Ivy Park collection even her record-breaking Grammy wins included. Beyonce began sharing images from her childhood, where she can be seen spending time with her parents and other family members. Another collage shows her pictures from her teenage years showed her hanging out with other co-workers and her former group, 'Destiny's Child', while another portion of the snaps also shows her with her future husband, Jay-Z. The post was titled ‘B AT 40 THANK YOU’, and in one artwork, the ‘Love On Top’ hitmaker wrote: “Thank u to the photographers, editors, tv hosts, talk show hosts, awards programs and my family for your visual contribution.'' Meanwhile, DJ Khaled, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Ellen DeGerenours and others wished the star on her special day.
