<p>Beyoncé has launched her new perfume called Cé Noir. In a video posted on Instagram, Beyonce shared a snippet of the new fragrance and wrote, “I’m super excited. This is my Cé Noir unboxing, and it’s finally here after years of work. I wanted something to be monolithic, and I wanted something to have a little bit of intimacy. So right here, you can see inside the soul of the perfume.”</p>

<p>The bottle of the new fragrance features a chrome casing with a small glass circle on the back. According to the website, the fragrance notes include clementine, golden honey, rose absolute, jasmine sambac, Namibian myrrh and golden amber.</p>

<p>But the "Kemet" exhibition at&nbsp;Leiden's Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (National Museum of Antiquities) has enraged Egypt, which has reportedly banned the museum's archaeologists from a dig at a key site.</p>

<p>Egypt's antiquities service said the museum is "falsifying history" with its "Afrocentric" approach,&nbsp;which seeks to appropriate Egyptian culture,&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;media reported.</p>

<p>The museum said it had meanwhile been hit with comments on social media that were "racist or offensive in nature" after the row blew up in Egypt.</p>

<p>And so what was meant to be an empowering celebration of "Egypt in hip-hop, jazz, soul and funk" has instead become a culture war.</p>

<h2>'Nothing shocking'&nbsp;</h2>

<p>With a small handful of visitors inspecting the exhibits on a quiet weekday morning, the canalside museum in a&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;university town doesn't exactly look like a battlefield.</p>

<p>There are walls of album covers showing the influence of ancient Egypt by artists including Tina Turner, Earth Wind and Fire and Miles Davis, and a special interactive video installation.</p>

<p>One visitor said the reaction to the "informative" exhibition was overblown.</p>

<p>"This doesn't make any sense to me and they're just sort of being too sensitive or trying to score political points maybe... Nothing to me was shocking," said Daniel Voshart, 37, a filmmaker and artist from Canada.</p>

<p>"There were music videos that were already made and it's not like the&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;government paid Beyonce to become you know, Egyptian."</p>

<p>Museum director Wim Weijland was quoted by the&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;newspaper NRC as saying that Egypt's reaction was "unseemly".</p>

<p>The museum declined to comment on the dispute when contacted by AFP, instead pointing to a special section on its website.</p>

<p>The museum said there had been a "commotion about this exhibition, because it shows Egyptian culture through the eyes of artists with African roots."</p>

<p>The exhibition had two aims, it added -- to "show and understand the depiction of ancient Egypt and the messages in music by black artists" and to "show what scientific, Egyptological research can tell us about ancient Egypt and Nubia."</p>

<p>The curator of the exhibition, Daniel Soliman, is himself half Egyptian and a huge music fan, sources at the museum said.</p>

<h2>'Complicated' relationship&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;exhibition, which opened in late April and runs until September, appeared to walk into a already-brewing row in Egypt over a Netflix docudrama about Cleopatra.</p>

<p>Egyptian pundits and officials were up in arms in April after Netflix streamed a production depicting the ancient queen as black, and insisted she had lighter skin.</p>

<p>The Rijksmuseum's musical showcase was subsequently hit by similar criticisms of rewriting history.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Egyptian authorities then banned the museum's archaeologists from the necropolis at Saqqara, south of Cairo, NRC said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Staff at the museum were shocked as they have been active for nearly five decades at the vast burial site, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and are currently leading an excavation there.</p>

<p>It's a pop queen's world and we're just living in it: Industry watchers are speculating over whether Tay or Bey could post the first billion-dollar tour, as 2023 witnesses an explosion of shows.</p>

<p>Taylor Swift and Beyonce are among the dozens of stars who've hit the road and fueled a booming arena market, as demand for live entertainment soars after years of pandemic-induced cancellations and postponements.</p>

<p>From Pink to Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen to Drake, and SZA to The Weeknd, stadiums across the United States and beyond are setting the stage for what's poised to be the biggest year for live music on record.</p>

<p>"I have never seen as many artists out at the same time, in the same space," Stacy Merida, a professor at American University who studies the business of music, told AFP.</p>

<p>Madonna -- who in the early 1990s created the contemporary tour as we know it, with elaborate sets and costumes -- was set to embark on a career-spanning tour in mid-July but postponed it due to illness.</p>

<p>The 64-year-old is slated to start her European leg of shows in October and reschedule the North American concerts for later dates.</p>

<p>So it's the 33-year-old Swift who is now within striking distance of the billion-dollar mark, with 106 current dates on her "Eras" tour.</p>

<p>Odds are also favouring Beyonce as she commences the North American leg of her "Renaissance" tour.</p>

<p>If either cross the history-making line, they'd jump past Elton John.</p>

<p>His just-ended "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour, which began in 2018, had grossed more than $910 million as of June 18, a few weeks before his final show in Stockholm on July 8, according to Billboard Boxscore.</p>

<p>John had surpassed the previous record-holder, Ed Sheeran's 2017-2019 "Divide" tour, which nabbed $776 million.</p>

<p>Part of the current boom comes from increased ticket prices: Sheeran charged just under $100 for "Divide," according to tracker Pollstar, but played well over 200 shows.</p>

<p>Tickets for Bey and Tay are averaging out to be more than double that, for basic seats.</p>

<p>Live Nation, which in 2010 merged with Ticketmaster, says it's already sold 100 million tickets for 2023 concerts -- more than it sold for the entire year of 2019.</p>

<p>The company posted $4.4 billion in revenue during this year's second quarter, promoting some 12,500 concerts to 33.5 million fans.</p>

<p>"With most of the world fully re-opened, it's clear that concerts remain a high priority for fans," Live Nation said in its most recent earnings report.</p>

<p><strong>- Ticketing grumbles -</strong></p>

<p>But while demand has soared, it's not without much grumbling over the privileged position of Live Nation and Ticketmaster.</p>

<p>For years, concertgoers have complained of hidden fees, soaring costs, rampant scalpers and limited tickets due to presales.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, Beyonce gave an energetic performance in the Barbie pink sequin outfit with a cutout in the front. While performing on her hit song, "Break My Soul'' one of the straps of her halter neck dress started to slip and caught the eyes of one of the brothers from the French dance group Les Twin. After noticing the wardrobe malfunction that was about to happen, he quickly jumped in front of Beyonce and smartly grabbed her hand and placed it on her breast, indicating to fix it, and potentially saved&nbsp;her from a nip-slip moment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The economists said that restaurants and hotels added 0.3 percentage points to the May figure, while recreation and culture contributed 0.2 percentage points.</p>

<p>Experts had expected the inflation to hover around 9.4 per cent from 10.5 per cent in April. But they were surprised to find the Beyonce effect having that much impact on the country. The inflation in Sweden peaked at 12.3 per cent in December.</p>

<p>“Beyoncé is responsible for the extra upside surprise this month. It’s quite astonishing for a single event. We haven’t seen this before,” said Michael Grahn, Danske’s chief economist in Sweden, who said that the singer was responsible for the 0.2 percentage points inflation rise.</p>
