As per reports in Australian media, Madeleine was quick to inform about the message to Cricket Australia, who have since released a joint statement along with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the matter. Maxwell revealed he had discussed the scheduling with Cricket Australia last year to avoid missing any series but at the time the Pakistan tour was not on. "Originally, when I organized the dates with CA there was a two-week gap where I could potentially have it. So when I sorted that out, I was pretty happy that I wasn't going to be missing in any series," Maxwell told Fox Sports, as per&nbsp;ESPNcricinfo.

"And then I came to the CA contract meeting midway through last year and they said, well this is [when] the Pakistan series [is on] and I thought, well obviously, that's changed since the last conversation we had," he added.

Former pacer Brett Lee believes with David Warner in prime form, "underdogs" Australia are well poised to clinch their maiden ICC T20 World Cup title this time.

In the run-up to the World Cup, Australia had lost five straight series, suffering defeats against Bangladesh, West Indies, New Zealand, India and England.

Lee feels coming into the tournament on a low has helped Australia immensely.

"They have been underdogs in this tournament and going under the radar has really helped them.

"When you go in as one of the favourites like England, with their history and success, it breeds confidence but also expectations.

"If England don't beat New Zealand and make the final, people will be asking questions, just like India, who started slowly and didn't peak at the right time."

The 45-year-old former tear-away pacer feels the four semifinalists rightfully deserved their places in the business end of the tournament.

"I think we have the right four teams in the semi-finals and it's interesting to note that only one of them is from the sub-continent. We thought the conditions would favour the likes of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan but it just didn't happen for them," Lee said.

He observed that the unlikely success story for Australia in the tournament so far was the way how the batters handled spinners.

"A key reason for Australia's success is how they have utilised spin. With the bat, we have some great players of spin and they have shown that in this tournament, but the big weapon is Adam Zampa," Lee wrote.

"His form spinning the ball has been key and Australia have embraced a different T20 style with him. Before, the method was always to try to score 170-odd and then try and blow teams away with the quicks. But they know they can't do that in the UAE and introducing a bigger spin element has helped massively."

Lee advised Australian players just to enjoy the moment.

"The advice I would give is to enjoy it. Enjoy how far you have come. Focus on the strengths, and the strengths for all four teams are they have done the basics far better than most other teams. T20 cricket is about match-winners, big runs and big totals. But it is also about the one per-cent moments," he said.

"Australia are experienced in these situations. Some of these boys won the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2015 and then reached the semi-finals four years later and that counts for so much in those pressure situations at the death.

It has been reported that a delegation of Cricket Australia will visit Pakistan ahead of the commencement of the tour and will inspect the security situation before giving the final approval for the tour.

Australia's Test captain Tim Paine has made a glaring admission ahead of the historic tour of the Aussie team as he insisted some players might not be comfortable travelling to Pakistan. In the past, several players have expressed their reservations about travelling to Pakistan, which had been boycotted by several international teams after a terrorist attack on the bus of the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in 2009.

Though international cricket has resumed in Pakistan, some players and teams still have reservations about travelling to the country. Paine admitted some of the Australian players might not give their nod for the tour despite being assured of the security situation there.

“There’ll be some guys who will be happy to take the experts’ advice, and others will want to know a bit more. If we’re totally honest, there might be some people who aren’t comfortable going regardless. That’s happened before with tours going to other countries going back forever,” Paine told SEN Radio.

“Again, there are issues that will, I’m sure pop-up. We’ll discuss it; people get the right answers and feel comfortable, then we’ll get hopefully the best team we can. At the end of the day, it comes down to the individual,” he added.

Recently, New Zealand had called&nbsp;off their tour of Pakistan after receiving a security threat while the players were in Rawalpindi. The tour was called off hours ahead of the start of the first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand in Rawalpindi as the Kiwis flew back home without playing.

England too called off their tour of Pakistan following New Zealand's decision. Recalling his experience of playing in Pakistan for the World XI team in an exhibition match in 2017, Paine said the security arrangements were 'unlike anything he had seen before'.

“The security that we had on that tour was unlike anything that I’ve ever seen in my life. We had helicopters overhead, roads shut down five kilometres around us, checkpoints like every kilometre into the ground, it was extraordinary," Paine said.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced details of Australia's first tour of Pakistan since 1998, which will take place in March and April 2022, and comprise three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I.

In the ongoing Test, Warner broke several records. He surpassed Mark Taylor and Don Bradman to record the second-highest individual score for Australia in Tests. Warner also went past Bradman to record the highest-ever individual score at the Adelaide Oval. He is now the only Australian to have scored two 250+ plus scores in Tests.&nbsp;

"Certainly did put us under pressure. Guys like Hassan and Wahab are good strikers of the ball. Hard to stop when they're on a roll. Just had to bowl our best ball, whether it's a length ball or yorker.&nbsp;

"When you're slightly off, on a small ground like this, you're punished. Didn't bat out our fifty overs which was disappointing. When you go with an extra batter, you back the batsmen to do the job," Finch said.&nbsp;

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was disappointed after his side's second defeat of the tournament.&nbsp;

"Definitely very disappointing. Lost three wickets in 15 balls from 140/3. To take positives, Hassan Ali batted well, Wahab batted well. Fought in the end but could not finish it off well. Except Amir, others did not bowl well," Sarfaraz said.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday trolled the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Twitter after the unveiling of the TUC Cup 2018 T20I series trophy.

Australia and Pakistan will face each other in the T20I series, the trophy of which was unveiled by captains Aaron Finch and Sarfaraz Ahmed.&nbsp;

But, the design of the trophy became a hot topic of discussion among fans as it consists of a pair of stumps, a ball and a biscuit at the crown.

The International cricket board had two witty responses to the design of the trophy.&nbsp;

Debutant opener Fakhar Zaman and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed missed hundreds by six runs each but still revived Pakistan on the first day of the second and final Test in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Fakhar and Sarfraz scored 94 each and helped Pakistan recover from 57-5 to a total of 282 after winning the toss and electing to bat on a slow turning pitch at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Before the close Pakistan grabbed two wickets, including that of Usman Khawaja for three, as Australia finished on 20-2, with Aaron Finch on 13 and nightwatchman Peter Siddle dismissed off the last ball of the day for four.

Australia trail Pakistan by 262 runs with eight wickets intact.

Fast bowler Mohammad Abbas had Khawaja -- who scored a fighting 141 to lead Australia's fightback for a draw in the first Test in Dubai last week -- caught behind for his 50th Test wicket in 10 Tests.

Abbas became joint second-fastest Pakistani to the milestone of 50 wickets with Waqar Younis, Mohammad Asif and Shabbir Ahmed. The record is held by team-mate Yasir Shah who completed 50 wickets in nine matches.

Abbas then trapped Siddle to finish on 9-2.

Sarfraz was frustrated to miss his fourth Test hundred but happy with the fightback.

"Yes, its disappointing to miss a hundred but I am happy the way we revived the innings and then got two wickets, including that of Khawaja, so for me it is an even position," said Sarfraz who was hit on the left forearm by a rising delivery from Mitchell Starc.

"At the moment I am feeling discomfort and if there is swelling tommorrow then we can summon reserve wicketkeeper as per the new rules," said Sarfraz.
