As per reports, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, is set to receive an excellence award for his unwavering stance during the Asia Cup 2025 trophy controversy. After India’s team declined to accept the trophy from him—an act Naqvi called politically motivated—he chose to keep the trophy and refused to apologize. In Pakistan, his actions are being hailed as a bold assertion of national pride amid escalating tensions with India.

Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and president of the Asian Cricket Council, has strongly denied reports that he apologised to the BCCI. Naqvi made it clear he has never done so and never will. He added that India can collect the Asia Cup trophy directly from the ACC office.
