<p>The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has found no evidence against Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, that would link him to a larger drugs conspiracy or an international drugs trafficking syndicate, an Indian newspaper reported citing sources.<br />

Sources close to the case told Hindustan Times that Aryan Khan was never in possession of drugs and therefore taking his phone and checking chats was not needed as was done by the NCB's Mumbai unit.<br />

Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchant were arrested by the NCB in relation to a drugs raid case by the NCB in October 2021. The two youngsters were reportedly arrested while they were on their way to a cruise liner for a private party where raids had been conducted by the NCB. Aryan and Arbaaz were then sent to judicial custody and remained in jail for 28 days before they were released on bail.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The HT report states that Aryan's chats on phone did not suggest that he was a part of any international syndicate. The raid was also not video-recorded as mandated by the NCB manual and the drugs recovered from multiple accused arrested in the case were allegedly shown as single recovery.<br />

The SIT is yet to submit its final report to the NCB Director General SN Pradhan. A legal opinion will be taken before the final decision is taken and announced especially with regards to Aryan on whether he would be charged for consumption of drugs even though he was not carrying any at the time of his arrest.<br />

The SIT's finding though raises questions about the said raid which was led by the agency's former Mumbai Zonal Unit director Sameer Wankhede.</p>

From what one hears Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s second-born Ibrahim(eldest born Sara is already an actor) is all set for his screen debut which is likely to happen in 2022(pandemic permitting).</p>

<p>Apparently, Saif wants Ibrahim to continue with his studies. But Ibrahim is keen to get into his parents’ and sisters’ profession. This is why we now see the otherwise-shy Ibrahim at so many film parties and why he is suddenly so active on social media. One hears of Karan Johar being especially keen to launch Ibrahim’s career. But father Saif would rather have his son find his own way into the movies.</p>

<p>In an interview with me some time ago, Saif had spoken about Ibrahim, “Yes, he seems prepared. &nbsp;But I think he should wait a little longer. He’s looking good. And he’s a very gentle soul. He’s secure in his space and has a sense of humour.”</p>

<p>Ibrahim’s sister while speaking to me on her brother’s career plan had once said, “He does plan to be an actor. But as I’ve discovered, it’s an easy dream to have but a very difficult dream to achieve. But I feel Ibrahim has the talent. Once he enacted a monologue for my mother and me. I was holding the sheet of paper on which his lines were written. I &nbsp;couldn’t look at the sheet, I was busy looking at his eyes. They were so &nbsp;emotive.”</p>

<p>Chunky Pandey’s nephew Ahaan Pandey is also expected to be launched in &nbsp;2022 by family-friend Karan Johar. Chunky’s daughter Ananya has already been launched in 2019. <p>Rohatgi, who appeared for Aryan Khan, told the court on Tuesday that his client was invited to the cruise as a special guest.</p>

<p>He told the court that there was "no case of possession of drugs" against Aryan Khan and that he was arrested wrongly. He also said, "it was a fit case for bail".</p>

<p>Rohatgi said the law provides a maximum of one year of imprisonment for small quantities of drugs.</p>

<p>"Law provides that for small quantities, the maximum punishment is one year of imprisonment. For consumption, there is rehabilitation as per law," Rohatgi argued on behalf of Aryan Khan.</p>

<p>"Aryan Khan was invited by one Pratik Gaba. He was like an organiser. He invited accused 1 Aryan and accused 2 Arbaz Merchant. Both were invited by the same person. They both landed up together at the cruise terminal," Rohtagi said.</p>

<p>"It appears that NCB had some prior information that people on this cruise were having drugs so they were present in a certain strength. My client, Arbaz and many others were apprehended. A search was conducted and nothing was recovered from the accused 1 (Aryan Khan). No medical at any point was conducted to ascertain if he has taken any drug," he added.</p>

<p>Rohatgi said six grams of charas was recovered from accused number 2 (Arbaz Merchant) and Aryan had no relation with him except for arriving with him there."There was no recovery. There was no proof of consumption," he said."Many others were found with some amount of drugs so they allege that there was a general conspiracy. They are not charging me with consumption or possession but with conspiracy and conspiracy not with Arbaz but others," the former AG argued on behalf of Aryan Khan in the courtroom arguing before Justice Nitin Sambre.</p>

<p>Amid allegations of an extortion attempt by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and others in connection with the cruise drugs case in which actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is arrested, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in an affidavit submitted before a special court here on Monday said Wankhede and other officers have an impeccable service record.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, the federal anti-drug agency and Wankhede filed affidavits before the special court, designated to hear cases related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, against the allegations of extortion attempts levelled against them.</p>

<p>In the affidavits, the anti-drugs agency and Wankhede sought the court to pass an order saying no court should take cognizance of the affidavit prepared by the independent witness, Prabhakar Sail.</p>

<p>As per the NCB and its zonal director, the allegations made by Sail were only an attempt to create hurdles and scuttle the investigation into the case.</p>

<p>"It is emphatically stated that the NCB, as an organisation and/or its officers, the zonal director, who has an impeccable service record, replete with honesty and integrity, has no interest whatsoever as falsely alleged in the purported affidavit (of the witness)," the anti-drug agency said.</p>

<p>"The NCB headed by its zonal director and its team was working tirelessly with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace in the city of Mumbai and act in compliance with the aims and object of this stringent enactment (NDPS Act), to make the city drug free," it added.</p>

<p>The agency further said that at such a stage, the witness's claims was an attempt to tamper with and obstruct an ongoing investigation and hence stringent action ought to be taken against the witness.</p>

<p>It added that the affidavit/application was filed by the agency in the interest of justice and to avoid an independent and reputed agency from being defamed and tarnished by unscrupulous elements who intend to further their own vested interests.</p>

<p>Special Judge V V Patil disposed of the applications and refused to pass any blanket order.</p>

<p>On Sunday, Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the case, in a statement to the media, claimed that Rs 25 crore was demanded by an official of the NCB and other persons, including absconding witness K P Gosavi, to let off Aryan Khan in the drugs case.</p>

<p>Sail told media persons that he had overheard Gosavi telling one Sam D'Souza over the phone about a demand of Rs 25 crore and "to settle at Rs 18 crore as they have to give Rs eight crore to Sameer Wankhede".</p>

<p>Sail had said he would soon release evidence to support his claim.</p>

<p>Aryan Khan and 19 others have been arrested so far in the case. Aryan is presently lodged at the Arthur Road prison.</p>
